Known from Ghost In The Shell and, uh, that's pretty much it- the Mateba 2006M, or at least Marushin's gas-powered airsoft version of this strange-looking revolver.

'Go get another gun, Ocelot' had me chuckling...
Indeed it served me well at one point in time, yet it cannot surpass the Single Action Army.
Wow,having the Unica instead of the 2006M was unexpected: i thought the first to be more rare than the other
The biggest problem with the X-Cartridge shells is that the o-ring holding the bb can act as its own hop up and can be randomly oriented 360°. What I find to help improve accuracy is applying a thin film of silicone oil on the o-ring of each cartridge. This minimizes whatever hop effect they impart so the actual hop up can do its job. Downside is you'll need to clean the barrel and hop from built up oil every month or so of regular use. Then there's Marushin's hop rubber material which isn't very grippy so I custom make a replacement from tyre interior rubber: just two 1mm thin patches one square and one round glued together.
i fuckin' love Mateba revolvers so much i didnt know they had airsoft replicas im gonna have to pick one up one day they have such a cool silhouette that gives them major space gun aesthetics
fun fact mateba closed down for smuggling guns in to east europe
Based company
Nice
@@RecoilRogue so based that the owner decided to to make shitty ar 15 and discontinue all cool revolvers
@@MarcoMaioli Ah yeah that sucks, based revoked.
B-B-B-BASED GUN SMUGGLERS
Man just nonchalantly pulls out a real Mateba for comparison.... Awesome
Marushin is often overshadowed by the other big airsoft companies. Despite their limitations with using plastic on their guns as per Japanese law, the shell-ejecting guns they made were truly ahead of their time.
Why not make metal kits?
Or just get the laws changed it’s stupid.
They can have metal long guns.
Fantastic video as always!
I like how this gun inspires Vash the Stampede Revolver
The finish on that plastic is honestly incredible, never would guess that its not metal.
love your vids, keep it up!
Damn, IRL JC Denton here delivered a really helpful review.
Subbed
Man.... sitting here, loading my aps shells for tomorrow and an ExEn video, about that freking revolver i always wanted, drops. Life could not be better right now.❤
Damn I really wish marushin would bring back the gbb shell ejecting pistols I want the cz75 so bad
They sell those on octagon airsoft if you’re willing to pay around 200 usd for shipping to the states
@@captain_cheezus5186 wait really?
@@2Stroke250 the business is taiwan based or something, it’s got all the stuff that hasn’t made it west. Arnold’s pistol in the first terminator is there for example.
@@captain_cheezus5186 oh cool, are there any other websites i can use?
@@captain_cheezus5186 are there any other sites i can use?
I have this guy as well, the exact same model in fact. It's the most left-handed friendly revolver I've ever used.
Nice review 👍🏼
Just got a 11inch SAA by king arms. Im now in my unpractical weapons phase.
I love Ghost in the shell. I finally bought 357 magnum Rinho. Maybe ill get one. Thanks.
In regards to accuracy, I wonder if it would help if the patch was directly at the start of the barrel, rather than a couple centimeters behind it.
Man, that almost looks super close to the revolver you get in Alien isolation. I love revolvers that have the barrel at the bottom. They always have a slick aggressive look that's sexy.
Hey did you know that Vash's revolvers are all different versions of the mateba with '98 being the 2006m, Trigun Maximum being the Unica 6 and BLR being the Rhino? Or that the real world equivalent to the .454 Casull from Hellsing is the Unica 6?
It is a cool collectors item. I have the rare „Ghost in the Shel“l Togusa“s Mateba Revolver Airsoft Version from Marushin. This is 8mm BB
Any chance to get a video on the ASG Schofield CO2 Airsoft Revolver as well?
Do you think you’ll do a review on the GHK Aks74u in the near future. I just bought one (my 1st gbb)and wanted to know your opinion on it. As well as possible upgrades.
There is a airsoft online shop selling outer barrel which have sound suppressors adapter and under barrel 1913 rail. For the hopup part. Im thinking to mod it a bit to use normal GBBP type hop system.
i wonder if you could get a normal barrel for it and drill a new hole for the hop adjustment screw in the frame
Lovely
Anyway to make a "nub" for the hop? So we can use like .32s
"however we do have a real Unica"
I really did not see that comeing, i was waiting for a rino to come out
While I like the 2006M, I would love to have a gas blow back airsoft version of the Unica 6. I've thought about how it could work but come up short on how to fit the mechanism in the frame, if anyone has any ideas let me know. If I were to try make one myself, I would probably just go double action and call it a day.
That said, I've been obsession over Vash's revolver from Trigun for far too long and have a CAD model in the works.
Great video as usual!
Any chance y'all are planning a Bo Manufacture Rhino review?
I really want a skirmish ready revolver that can keep up like the tanaka revolver that can at least hold 14bbs
Anyone know if you can 3D print the cartridges? Im not gonna hunt some overpriced shells down
Wait.. what’s the thread size on that barrel?
is it Vash the Stampede signature gun?
Where did you get this from ?
In theory, could we make our own barrels/hop-ups to fix the issue with accuracy?
BTW, "sei unica" also means "you are unique" because "sei" is in fact the Italian word for 6, but it also means "you are"
Do they make a metal one?
I'd test how the revolver itself shoots by inserting a BB directly into the chamber and circumventing the retention of the shell feed-lips as they have a tendency to add a lot of random spin since the lips hold BB's far too tight.
Great video as usual. Best airsoft brain alive.
0:33 Damn, now I can see where they got the inspiration for that one revolver in Cyberpunk 2077.
Question I asked other people on Facebook and Instagram without success: Can a WG M702 Revolver be set to a lower FPS somehow internally? Same thing with the Dan Wesson version. Lower Power shells are an option, but I would rather set the revolver for a Lower FPS to be able to use it at all Locations and not just use it as a back yard plinker.
Therein lies the problem with WGs and pretty much every other CO2 revolver - they're nothing but plinkers. CO2 is simply too hot for 99% of handguns. Without redesigning the internals I'm not sure how you would be able to reduce the power on the gun's side. XE might be able to figure something out but I imagine it would be more trouble than it's worth.
In my ~20 years in airsoft the only "skirmishable" revolvers I've ever owned have been Tanakas, and those aren't without drawbacks of their own.
@@Malikyte13 - I see they did shells here:

On the subject of impractical shell guns, I've got an old Tanaka Cassiopeia series Single Action Army. Maybe I should ship it off to you to review. lol
Hell yeah.
What I’d do for a full metal one of these.
So strange that this video gets uploaded a week after i pick up one of the heavyweight versions. Full metal and wood, gorgeous piece for collectors. Also, if you want a speedloader, just use the airsoft Dan Wesson ones. They're cheap, and work like a dream.
Marushin does not make "full metal" airsoft guns. Historically, "heavyweight" ABS is essentially regular ABS plastic with tiny flakes of metal mixed in to make it heavier.
@@Malikyte13 I think you're right. HOWEVER, i've had Marushin heavyweights before... and they're not like this piece. This one must have more metal content in it than others they've made.
@@johndoe9627 If it's really "full metal" like you claim then the only explanation is that somebody before you put aftermarket metal parts on it, though off the top of my head there aren't a lot of companies making metal body kits for Marushins.
IIRC Japanese law prevents airsoft manufacturers from making full-metal guns from the factory, which is why Japanese-manufactured airsoft guns have always been ABS or heavyweight ABS.
This might have changed in recent years though because I feel like I've heard some of the newest Japanese GBBRs have metal bodies, but I might have heard wrong so take that with a grain of salt.
So, which one did you get? I’m looking to purchase one for myself, but I’d really like something weightier and more tactile than plastic. Is the heavyweight version better than the standard? The one I’m looking at is the silver painted one, but the heavyweight ver only comes in 5in barrel on that finish. Weight says the same on the website between heavyweight version and the 6in “standard” silver. Thoughts? @Malikyte13
@@calebbright8289 Well, the one i have must be the heavyweight one. I just weighed it for you, unloaded (no shells) and with no gas, it weighs 890grams. Personally, given the choice i'd always go for the more realistic version, so, i'd get the heavyweight one if given the choice. I got mine out of luck and chance, but it goes into my Ghost in the Shell collection nicely.
I live in Japan and am glad you have reviewed this gun. So even in Japan, nobody would except Marushin to have a nice performance and nobody would use it in the field except for fun. Most people get Marushin just for it provides some guns that have not been modelled up by other makers, it is illegal for us to get a real steel one, so a replica is the only choice. Actually Marushin mainly make model guns which replicates the gimmick on the real steel (in plastic, you know, because of the law), and will even be used in film-making in Japan.
how the flip do you have a genuine mateba unica
If i remember correctly, the reason for not having real (357) dimensions is because of Japanese law. even those Japanese blank firing firearms dont use real dimension. To me, this seems like a good protection against cavemans who might try to insert real ammunition...
Wasn't one of these featured in Cowboy Bebop?
Wyd if bro pulls up with the ultrakill piercer
That revolver is my perfonal favoite by looks alone, it just has a certain ammount of metal sexyness to it, you know?
It looks like "Can we buy a Mateba? - We have Mateba at home." type thing.
Is this the same mateba from the original ghost in the shell film?
The one Togusa uses, yes. As well as in other GiT's media he uses this weapon.
What a shame, I would have loved to run around with that if it was accurate.
is that a D2 gun?
i saw this and immediately thought of the revolver from ultrakill
This is straight up “the last word” from Destiny
Can we just get a remake of the real one?
It's a collectors revolver man old days i saw this one online. alot old airsoft are rare now
"now unfortunately do not have a real 2006M to compare against as are believed to be fewer then10 in the United States... However we do have a Real Unica!"
BROTHER?! Is that NOT more impressive? Or did I miss a big import of Unicas in the last decade?
Sucks that it isnt great. Looks beatiful though. Would make a great display piece.
ULTRAKILL revolver
Fuck yeah
I feel like the capacity isn't much of an issue considering that 6 shots are more than enough to kill anything that moves
You're pretty good
Wall hanger gang for life
wait, so they dont make real guns styled like that?
Marshen? Ma-ru-shin
Ma Lu ShIn
Straight outta Blade Runner😂😂😂
"Space Cowboy?" Really?
"Solid State" was _right there._
Destiny one hand cannons and a few hand cannons in destiny 2
I couldn't care less about the plastic as an collector, but the shitty pop metal internals are a big problem.
I don't know why they make the internals so cheap for that price point
Dont care about the anime, but i want a shell revolver. Should this be the one?
Not if you want to actually use it in a game. With as wildly inaccurate as it is, it would be completely useless outside of a CQB field and even then you're gonna be severely outgunned by people with semi-auto handguns and SMGs.
If you're ever looking to sell that Unica I would pay so much money. I'm jealous honestly, that gun is my white whale for my collection
Such a shame for the accuracy
That price for plastic? Nope
A huge Nope.😢
Made of plastic... nope I'm out.
"Airsoft"....yeah and you lost me.
Why are you watching this then?
Пока он не снял декоративную накладку на стволе, я думал, что это боевой пистолет.
put two white spades on it one on the handle with a white outline transparent inside the second half an inch in front of the barrel filled with white and make the handle and barrel pitch black
