    The key with running a gbbr is persevering with the platform and learning how to run them, just requires patience and knowledge , most people don't have this with gbbrs so just think they are not useful in the field over an aeg. Running a gbbr also pushes you to be a better player, you have to pick shots, conserve ammo but also actually think about your position on the field. For me that's a more enjoyable experience. With aegs , it's almost like they're all pretty much lmgs with the ammo capacity which influences the play style

    • @remainingrex9471
      @remainingrex9471 9 месяцев назад +27

      There is a lot of variations in flight path of BBs due to a variety of issues.
      A firearms-like zero (of say 2moa or less) is impossible. With airsoft guns we're talking minute of man by the time you hit 50yds.

    • @sogerc1
      @sogerc1 9 месяцев назад +15

      @@remainingrex9471 Yeah, no. If there's a lot of variations you need to work some more on your gun.
      @PhantoM16 here are some things to consider:
      - set up your hopup first, only after that zero your gun
      - BBs will go up-down and sideways a little, you just put your dot in the middle of your grouping
      - some guns have mounting rails not parallel with the inner barrel, so don't move your red dot around after you've zeroed it.
      - don't zero your gun when it's windy, and if your gun is zeroed and it's windy tilt your gun into the wind and let the hopup work against the wind. You'll have to experiment how much you tilt your gun in how strong wind. There's no real steel gun equivalent of this, "windholds" are even harder in airsoft than tilting your gun.

    I don't really play airsoft so idk why I'm watching this video, but just wanted to say THANK YOU for mentioning the astigmatism issue with red dots. When I first bought my Sig Romeo, I thought for quite a while that the blurry dot was just a QC issue until I saw that exact same PewPewTactical article and discovered that I had astigmatism and needed glasses (turns out, things actually aren't supposed to be that blurry, especially at night). I'm guessing that you probably helped hundreds of people who had astigmatism and didn't realize it discover that they needed to see an optometrist. By the way, for anyone reading this who's on the fence about whether they have astigmatism, (1) try using your red dot at a somewhat bright setting indoors and see if you see a starburst or a crisp dot, and if you have a starburst, try rotating the optic around and see if the star's edges rotate or stay in one place (if they rotate, it might be the dot, if they don't it's likely astigmatism); (2) if you have an AR-style backup iron sight (i.e., a peep sight) that's cowitnessed, try looking through the rear sight at the optic and see if the starburst/blur gets better, if so, likely astigmatism (also, if you do have astigmatism, this is a good practical fix if you don't have your corrective lenses on and need to make a more precise shot; if you have an optic that's not just a dot (i.e., with an ACSS or other ballistic reticle), this is a good way to actually be able to see the reticle clearly for a long-range shot).
    However, if you think you might have astigmatism, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to an optometrist ASAP and investing in glasses or contacts, you won't believe how much of a difference they can make, even if you think your vision is pretty good. For me, my eyesight only needed a slight correction (0.25 in one eye, 0.5 in the other) + astigmatism fix, yet the difference with and without glasses was incredible-especially at night. Turns out, you're supposed to be able to read street signs from a pretty long distance away, and not when you're just about to cross them, and traffic lights aren't supposed to look like starbursts at night.

    I used to use AEG in the UK where it's cold. I emigrated to Hong Kong permanently in 2017. On my UK gas pistol I aimed carefully as green gas was expensive at $17 for a can. Here in HK it's cheap at $3USD per can so I went full gas.
    I'm still a careful shooter except in a push. The problem with ammunition exists still though. (2 long pistol, 4 regular high capa magazines). In that there's cheaters and with an AEG you can simply 'classic airsoft them' into calling their hit with a storm of BBs.
    Yesterday's Sunday game there were three cheaters. I expended a whole gas magazine going after his fingers he still didn't call it. End of the game his hands looked like they'd been stung by wasps.
    Similarly the HPA kid encountered another one and put well over 50 into him before he called it.

I don't get to play alot (once or twice a month) because the grounds are also used by firemen and law enforcement for training purposes. Honestly for larp, I’d rather just use a EBBR. A lot of people think they’re crap, and a lot of them might be crap, but I’ve put my Bolt AKS74U through a lot, and it still shoots like the day I got it. Relatively low maintenance, and kicks honestly harder than the GBBRs I’ve experimented with.

    While not the best RDS, the VISM SPD is a decent choice for budget minded players. It also has a solar panel on top that will allow for nearly unlimited play while outdoors, some users of the sight tape off some of the solar panel because it becomes too bright. I've found these sights for around $80 to $100 in the states.
    Also, another excellent video!

    I've never done airsoft in my life but I use a SIG Romeo MSR on my 5.56 chambered AR, it's an excellent red dot with the elevated rail and dust covers and you really wont get any better for the price. Accurate enough to ding 8 inch plates consistently at 100 yards, so it really comes down to how accurate your gas gun is

    I used to run a variety of gbbrs when i lived in florida (removed the worry of winder and batteries getting rained out), but to date my favorite setup was a VFC URGI 14.5, used .32s, and a 60$ comp4 cloned optic. 4x 30rd mags was enough to get me through most of the matches since I could easily land any shots within 150ft with 1 or 2 tries.

    For optics, I've found that the Aimpoint CompM4 (aka M68 CCO) is perfect, though the price is way too high to justify it (my experience was with an issued one). The Sig Romeo7 is a fantastic clone that costs 5-6x less at just under $200. It's a bit bigger and heavier than a micro dot like the Romeo5, but oh man does it make a world of difference. Also great for GWOT larping if that's your thing.

      Just added a note to the description- we actually missed that one as we were focusing on the micro dot profile, but we agree, the Romeo 7S is another great optic for the price.

    What I usually do is get an hpa adaptor and use midcaps or lowcaps, a lot less gas mags to worry about filling or leaking, can probably comes out cheaper than buying 5 gas mags here in Canada. Not the most milsim set up but it's a lot less headache. Only downside is that only WE GHK KC02 and MWS have adaptors, VFC have a dual coupled mag with a 300rd hi cap. Maybe the Tapp GHK adaptors can be modified to fit in other WA spec guns but I didnt have the balls to do it 😂

    Even though I'm an AEG user and not a GBB user, I found myself spamming a LOT less when I switched to 0.36g and zero'd my Holosun with an incredible hop setup. I used to go through 4+ 150rd midcaps during a 20-30 minute infinite life pickup game, now I go through like 2 mags.
    Also the price difference going above 0.32g means I'm saving a fair amount of money.

    Ah this brings me back. I still remember when Western Arms dropped their first M4 GBBR (then WE, KSC, Marui, etc.). They were such intense project guns- tons of things would break and it took a while for companies to figure out which parts would sustain the most wear and needed to be made with better materials. Seems like most of those kinks have been ironed out?

    Also, when you're working on aiming figure out which eye is your dominant eye. I dunno how common or uncommon it is, but some people are cross eye dominant. This means that your dominant eye (what your brain uses for your main vision) is on the opposite side as your dominant hand. Me for example am right handed, but my LEFT eye is my dominant eye. This means I either have to shoot lefty, close my left eye when aiming, or focus hard on what I am aiming at and using my right eye.
    There are ways to train your eye to work harder when aiming but they take dedication and I haven't seen any real evidence of how long it lasts or how much it actually does.

    I live in Brazil. Prices here are insane for airsoft (tax for imports, inflation and exchange difference skyrocketed in the last years). GBB rifles are practicaly inexistent in fields. Many stores bring 1 or 2 once in a while for the sake of collectors and they are gone fast. Spare mags are equally rare. Now, GBB pistols, on the other hand are MUCH more present and cheap. You can easily get any major common model with surplus mags. That makes me LOVE playing CQB with gbb pistols. I go for 2 pistols in my belt (yeah, like a modern John Wayne), one on each hand and a vest full of mags. That makes hunting in CQB way more fast. I can move faster and aim 2 points of rush at the same time. And... for the sake of training for self defense, well... we live in urban environment. A pistol is all you will ever need in real life... I would love to use GBBRs but there is just not a scene here for it sadly... I really think airsoft is made for CQB. Rifles are gorgeous and i love them. But in airsoft they are much more weight in the hand for what they really do. There are AEG players here claiming their DMRs can reach 90 meters, 100 meters... I call it bulshit. AIrsoft is only reliable at 50 meters tops. More than that is just luck and compensation. All the rushes in this video are about what? 20, 30 meters? There is no reason to engage with a rifle other than looking badass (good reason tho). But a pistol in those distances makes you much more lighter and effective...

    Because in most of the airsoft game,if you got hit, you are out from this game

    Damn my aim is _so_ bad and I'm a broke boi so even as an AEG user I'm carrying around multiple speed loaders. My one and only full GBB loadout is PP-2000 + Glock 18C which I only have one standard size mag each for. I've mastered the art of quickly finding cover to reload and being sneaky to get kills with limited ammo by being at close range in unexpected areas to mitigate my piss poor aim.
    Tbh for sights, quite a few airsoft grade ones are "good enough". I have a decent collection of $20-40 sights and they are all at least a decent improvement over irons.

    If you want to talk about ammo management you should look into HvZ and competitive nerf haha. Even half darts are .50 caliber diameter and 38mm long, and the average mag size is 15 rounds. There are no effective speedloaders for these types of ammo, so if you want to reload mags during downtime you have to do it one round at a time by hand. Some players just resort to carrying a ton of mags, or maybe higher capacity mags capable of carrying between 22 and 50 rounds, but the higher capacity drums start to get very cumbersome to carry and reload.

  • @Woistdeingott
    @Woistdeingott 9 месяцев назад

    Yea, I only run historical kits, so I'll carry the appropriate mag count, minus one for a speed loader. Rarely have issues with ammo or gas capacity. I also fire much less than the average airsofter though, don't spam shots at long range and only fire semi bursts of 2-3. I'm running full retro kits, so not really worried about weight, and obviously not as good as the tacticool aeg/hpa call of duty folks. But I'm really just there to get the experience of running a historical kit, and I'm still usually one of the better players on the field. As long as my gun shoots where I'm pointing with decent range and accuracy, I'm good
