@@ezrapardede1921 The V6 sounds better, it’s smoother, more linear, and likely way more reliable. I have two Acura V6s and have driven plenty of nice 4-cylinders. The V6 blows them all out of the water.

I just bought a 2024 Acura MDX Aspec in the liquid carbon color. I absolutely love it! My only zonk is gas mileage, but everything great about this car makes up for it!
Hey Joe, you're so right about how the track pad is not bad. I use to drive Lexus rx350 which was terrible compare to acura's track pad. That makes my rdx track pad a breeze. I actually prefer this over a touch screen.
It’s slow though at 290 with how heavy it is. Base should have been 330 hp and Type s should be 400. Especially for the prices. 75k for a Type S with only 355 hp is too expensive. I worry about these transmissions as many have had issues. This is also a heavily traded in vehicle for other makes.
I passed on the MDX last year bc the center screen is awful in my opinion. I don’t care that it’s not touch screen, but I cannot stand the side widget on the right of screen. The screen should be the entire 13” screen and not separated into two. It’s disappointing that they have not updated this
The day they replace that infotainment system with a proper touchscreen is the day I buy the Type S version. I just couldn’t get used to that interface
With the MDX Aspect Wheels, I thought for sure the shark Grey wheels were going to be the MDX Type S wheels, but it's machine and black wheels look good as well.
I'm on my second MDX (2019, 2022). The 2022 MDX Advance is probably one of or THE best car I've owned (or leased). I'm 72, and have owned or driven tons of cars over the years since 18 years old. Although I pine for a 2024 Type S, to replace my expiring 22 lease in August, I am at a Crossroad : Buy my 22 at $38,500 (Lease Buyout - with only 21K miles on the clock by August) or lease that Type S?? From this and other reviews, the new 2024 is the exact same Vehicle. Aside from the A-Spec package giving a more Sporty look vs. my Advance model, the Advance has more features including HUD!. I truly LIKE my MDX (I reserve the word LOVE for people), terrific handling/Steering, a peppy V-6 [tried and true Acura Engine], a new responsive 10 Speed AT, comfort, size (who really cares about 3 Rows ? Nice to have but rarely used), ease of driving, steady as a Rock on The road, the only exception is the TTIP touch pad for InfoT. system operation. Joe, you and some others proport that one gets used to it, reviews don't stress an obvious shortfall. In AA or CP mode (connecting to your Apple or Android Phone), the TTIP becomes an AWFUL - SLOW mouse type operation. When I use it, it forces me to take my eyes off the road considerably more than using a Touch Screen. The Advantage package has the Head;s Up Display (HUD), which helps with the InfoT. operation, and I have AT&T Mobile WiFi, which I signed up for after the initial 30-day trial offer. Using WiFi (I really should try using the WiFi Hot Spot feature on my Android Google Phone) allows me to make Alexa commands for anything including asking for Navi directions which Alexa sends to the MDX's Navi system. IMO, the car's Navi works very well and easy to use. I'd really like to have that Type S with higher HP /Torque, Massaging seats, Bembro Brakes, and a few other nicities, but $38,500 seems like a great deal in my position and hard to pass up.
Really always appreciated you review videos as always I already purchased one Tech Pack Jan 2024 compared to some other brand I found MDX is better specially the natural Aspirated V6 Engine
I had a 2022 A-Spec MDX. My biggest issue was the gas mileage, which averaged out to 21-22mpg on 80-90% highway driving with premium gas. At this consumption, I would say the performance is underwhelming. It needs more bottom-end torque instead of screaming thru 10 gears just to get it going. At least the gear changes are way better than the previous generation. The second issue is the ride quality, which is jarring on rougher surfaces even at the comfort setting, which turns on an annoying rattle on the front passenger door. This rattle is worse during cold mornings but my local Acura dealer said nothing is wrong with it, and won't even check what is loose inside the door. The jarring ride also activated another rattle behind the third row seat. The steering, although very linear and predictable, is too light even in Sport mode, and the turning radius is wider than my 2019 MDX. This might be because of the new front double wishbone suspension, which does feel better in the corners and general handling compared to the previous generation. But it still feels front heavy and still leans a lot when you near the limits. And I never get used to the touch pad system. I recently traded it in for a 2024 Accord EX-L hybrid because I have to commute a lot and now I get twice the gas mileage easily. They just announced the 2025 revamp, which gets rid of the touchpad and is now touch screen only. The base engine remains but maybe they can retune the suspension and steering a bit. I really liked the styling so I may lease one once the lease on my other vehicle is up.
Currently in Southern California, both Orange and LA County, the 2024 Mazda CX-90 3.3 Turbo Premium Plus has a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $60,120, with a discount of only $1,200. The 2024 Acura A-Spec has an MSRP of $61,500 but is selling for below the invoice price at $55,000. My friend recently leased a 2024 MDX A-Spec in Red Pearl for $651 per month, including a 9.5% tax, with no initial payment required.
Pricey, but not if you're keeping it 150k miles. As fast as my 69 Mach 1 Mustang, which makes it faster than l'll ever need in an SUV. KEEPER, NOT LEASE BAIT.
I hope they don't bring that newHonda pop-up screen on the dash. If you've ever been in this current interior it's very nice I can't imagine this getting outdated.
@@drivescene6747 The touchscreen is all it really needs. Everything else is a bonus because it’s already such a great car. The center console will be redesigned because they’re dropping the touchpad, and hope they get rid of the huge piece of black plastic on the dash.
Totally agree there is to much black plastic everwhere, even the door sill plates are black plastic. Other than all that black plastic it does look pretty nice but it is expensive for what it is. Totally agree on an upper tier vehicle the areas around the wheel well should be painted to body match, not black plastic or cladding.
Exterior: Zonk 1: Plastic around fenders Zonk 2: Wheel rims aren't really 'Acura' worthy Zonk 3: Exposed rear wiper Interior: Zonk 1: Too much gloss black Zonk 2: NO touchscreen interface Zonk 3: 3rd row is a joke Sorry Acura, I love ya but this MDX striked out on the exterior AND interior. Better luck next time for 2025 model year.
I do too, that's why it makes me sad 😢. I want to love it. At least I know they'll give it a touchscreen for 2025, so that takes care of one of the zonks.
This car offers so much for the money especially with that V6 engine while its competitors are phasing it out. Yes, the Type-S has the same engine but you get way more amenities like massaging seats and air suspension that lifts the vehicle’s ground clearance. Also more horsepower. I mean, the MDX has been around for decades and it holds value of up to 55% after 5 years. For the money, you get more amenities than what its competitors like Lexus and the German offers. The cons are its terrible fuel engine and lack of prestige brand (it matters to a lot of people). It drives like a small sedan despite its size and has plenty of space in its 3 rows.
For the millionth time on all that is holy……..Enough with the whining about touchscreens………They are not practical and dangerous while driving. The manufacturers are trying to funnel all car functions into these touchscreen interfaces. I have no idea why people think scrolling through endless menus via a touchscreen is convenient. I have a 2022 MDX Advance and love the touchpad interface . I’m thinking about trading to get a 2025 Type S or even a 2024 depending on the upgrades of the new model and will be upset to see the touchpad go. I hope that there is some kind of dual interface where you don’t have to use a touchscreen.
Acura is offering low money factor, less than 3% which is lower than the competitors. A friend just leased this end of April, a 2024 MDX A Spec Red Pearl exactly the same car in Orange County, SoCal. He pays $651 a month for 10,000 miles a year over 36 months, and that monthly payment includes a 9.5% tax with no initial payment, 0 drive off. He got almost a 10% discount on the car. The dealer wanted to clear out their inventory because the 2025 model will be arriving in the next few months. I don't think you can find a deal this good around the mid $600s including tax in this segment.
LEXUS did the same COSMETIC TRICKERY by offering the RX 350 “SPORT APPEARANCE” as opposed to their RX 350 “SPORT HANDLING”🤷🏽…it’s like “putting lipstick on a pig”🐖 …it’s STILL A PIG😂👎🏾
