My 22 MDX Advance lease is up in August 2024. I'm facing a dilemna, a kind of crossroad of choice. I could buy my MDX (which will have about 21K miles on it) for $38,5K OR Lease a new 25 MDX Advance OR lease a new 25 MDX Type S!. I must say, I like the Refeshed front end on the Advance over the Type S. Acura would have made My Decision a little easier had they produced a Sport Hybrid [like 2018-2020] using the 3.0L engine with an electric Booster engine which produced about 10-12% more HP./ Torque AND 15% Better MPGs!! That would be the Complete NO-Brainer. Like Goldilocks, a Sport Hybrid 25 MDX Advance would have been "Just Right". I am liking that finally Acura honed up to their "mistake" with the TTIP. Even after 30 months of use, the Touch pad is still somewhat frustrating and downright awful in AA or CP which makes it operate like a SLOW mouse. I really don't need a 3 Row SUV, but I really LIKE (I use love for people) my MDX - it's design, handling, ride, comfort and features and that great Sound System (I wonder how the new B & O sound system will sound? _ I wonder why they chnaged it ??).
I don't recommend the MDX Type-S if you are in an area with bad roads, the low-profile tires go flat easily on bad roads, that's why my parents got the MDX Advance over the Type-S back when they were in the market

I was so disappointed with the touchpad but they gave me a good deal on trading in my TLX. I had two kids and that car was too much of a pain. Honestly the MDX isn’t much better. I’m debating on getting something a little bigger

Decided to see what was on deck for the 2025 MDX and was prepared to be disappointed with a T4 but thankfully the V6 is still in action. Joe I’m loving my 2024 Integra A Spec w Tech. I have the Blackout emblems on mines. I hate chrome that’s the only zonk I give this MDX. I tell you what I do like and that’s those chairs and lamps behind you.

Yeah, the former touch pad was ridiculous. You still have to take your eyes off the road and look at the screen itself regardless. Maybe Mazda will be next to give up fooling people with their charade.
One test I like is to see if you can't sit up straight in the back storage area & see out. Drive in style. Your reviews really are the best. Oh & turning radius while driving.
Would like to see ventilated rear seats and a digital rear view mirror. Then it would be nearly perfect. I think I'll still go for the GV80 coupe when it comes out.
Joe, it may very well be a fight between this 2025 MDX and the 2025 Buick Enclave, both are beautiful inside and outside with upscale interior and loaded with tech. I remember you complimented the Envision's third row room and that your knees were not up in your face. We don't know the price for either one at this point !
If they could make the back seat I mean the third row more comfortable and match it with the front row I mean middle row material this would be an excellent car. The reason why I didn't choose this is because the third row is so uncomfortable. And Acura knows better I'm not sure why they wouldn't make it a better third row. It's not that difficult to do but automakers just seemed to blow it
Midsize SUVs are always hard to have a comfortable seating 3rd row if people need the room for the third row your only option is to get a full-size suv or a van

I’ve been in my lovely civic hatchback for a while and finally ready for my SUV!
Engine for starters. If you don’t get the type s you get the standard engine the 3.5l NA V6 and the choice between fwd or Awd. If you go all in and get the type s you’ll get the 3.5l turbo V6 and Awd standard. And you’ll get the sporty goodies that Acura adds to their type s models
Another terrific Joe Raiti Car Review !! "playing with my baseballs" offers some comic relief! I am really liking the front end refresh compared to my 22 MDX Advance. Thank God Acura chucked the TTIP for a new Touch Screen Info T. System! After over 30 months using mine, it still frustrates me - but I should qualify the comment in that I have not used it on long commuter trips (Retired guy who drives mostly locally). Furthermore, most people don't take advantage of the ShortCuts Icon to help the ease of regularly used items , and the HUD helps too. Acura was smart to keep that removable center console / seat for the rear! I would think that Acuar made a $$$$$ decision on the switch of Sound Systems : The ELS sound system is spectacular to my Ears!. From what I can see, which you don't emphasize, is that th Touch Screen seems to "fix" that downright Awful AA or CP system. With the TTIP, when switched to AA or CP, the touch pad operates as very S L O W mouse pad - forci ng me to take my eyes off the road and look at the screen searching for the movement to various Icons to select (MUsic Sources, Google Maps, Waze , etc). And when you used AA (or CP), the center console USB port cannot play Flash Drives of your Music !!. I think a Sport Hybrid model (like in 2018-2020) MDX would be a Home Run. The best of both worlds between an Advance or A-Spec Advance & Type S . The Sport Hybrid used the 3.0L Engine with a small electric motor boost that delivered about 310-315 HP, more Torque than the current non Type S models, and about 15% Better MPGs! For a just a $2K more in price over the Advance. That is a No -Brainer!!

Not hugely into the exterior updates because the current one looks so good. Also don’t love those new two-tone Advance rims, which are basically the same design as the current Adv rims which I really like. However, can’t argue with the touch screen. Was hoping they’d reduce the gloss black plastic though.
I’m saving money now. My ‘23 Pathfinder might have to go back in the shop. This will make 4 times in less than 15k miles. Don’t trust GM and Toyota will nickel and dime you to death.
I have an MDX and the third row is perfectly fine for kids. Rarely do adults go back there, but when they do it’s fine for short stints. Anything larger is mostly beneficial for cargo space.
Same material as the rest of the cabin, perfectly comfortable for kids and just fine for adults for short trips. It’s good to have if you need to fit an extra one or two people in a pinch.
Raiti! I got a Brand new 2022 MDX Advance bc of your reviews 2 years ago and the second row removable middle and better access to third row for my kids was the winner for me!!! I watched all yoir reviews and picked🎉 The first year was mostly problem free. The second year til now, it's died 6x when I'm out driving with kiddos in tow. Acura cannot figure it out. We now have a case started with Acura HQ. The car is back w acura service for the 6th time now. Wanted to like this new 2025 but imma have to find another car now :( Heading to watch your lexus video now!
For the price and quality of an Acura, hands down it one of the best cars out, especially the new models. From the new look to the functional accessories, driving and quality of the vehicle these are some of the best made vehicles. I have a new Mercedes and I prefer my RDX Tech model from the accessories to the driving and the navigation system by far better than the Mercedes Benz
They definitely gunna make this all blacked out like the previous year 24 that's the one I like except that exposed back wiper that's a huge zonk for me. They need to tuck that away
There are 2 small holes for the states that require a front plate one. If it was up to me I wouldn’t even put one on. Looks clean without a front plate
It took Acura couple of years to realize the necessity of touch screen. During the same time how many new means totally new lexus vehicles came out! It is a great product now I believe. But, a Honda dealership is totally not the pleasant place to be.
It's very beautiful, good and sophisticated design ,except for the leather, Acura and Honda through the years have always used a stern looking leather, it's never cheerful one like Audi or Lexus or Cadillac. But overall, it's very nice SUV.
Thumbs down for taking away black lower body trim and wheel openings, and touchpad on the center console with "wrist rest" that was over the wireless charging pad. Could have had both touchpad AND touchscreen. Keeping your right arm raised can cause fatigue. Great that they added massage seats to Advance trim. Should have added rear view mirror camera too. P.S. Those wheels are NOT "All new". Same wheels since 2022 with a different paint pattern.
this is from someone who only cares about the engine, and doesn’t care about anything else.😂 I can get previous gen accord sport 2.0T and spend less than Mercedes with similar engine and power.😂

You have to own one to know its limits. I mean, I bought a 2024 last year. Some of its shortcomings you just can't find out by test driving.

This interior color is called "espresso" and it only came in the top trim MDX, which back then was 60k

Does the middle of the middle row really fit under the cargo space? The 25 Pilot has a space specifically for this.

It's very beautiful, good and sophisticated design ,except for the leather, Acura and Honda through the years have always used a stern looking leather, it's never cheerful one like Audi or Lexus or Cadillac. But overall, it's very nice SUV.
Thumbs down for taking away black lower body trim and wheel openings, and touchpad on the center console with "wrist rest" that was over the wireless charging pad. Could have had both touchpad AND touchscreen. Keeping your right arm raised can cause fatigue. Great that they added massage seats to Advance trim. Should have added rear view mirror camera too.
P.S. Those wheels are NOT "All new". Same wheels since 2022 with a different paint pattern.

Test drove the 2024 model and it felt heavy and slow. Hope 2025 model is better.
