I put a one wire on my 454 and didn’t have to do that but I did run a ground wire

I was wondering if you could run wires from the R terminal and battery terminal to a push button on the dash.
It would make life easier if you could.

Correct, or maybe to the ignition switch. But if you use it regularly I don't think you should have to do it all the time once it's been flashed?
