OG No-man's Wharf is even nastier than this. There's *no shortcut* on the bridge and only one single torch you can light (that one on the rock near the bell). Only way to light up the area permanently (apart from 2 or 3 already lit torches) is the big lamp for which you need a lockstone. But obviously you don't know that on your first run, so you run around with your own torch, which provokes the Varangians to constantly throw tar balls at you, which then explode on impact. Nasty stuff.
The Pursuer in OG DSII really doesn’t live up to his name. In Scholar, you encounter him four times in the Lost Bastille. In OG, zero. I would very much enjoy a Control playthrough - it's so good!
