It's only been 12 years? They released 3 souls games, Sekiro, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring in that time. That's actually an insane release rate. Especially considering their consistent increase in success as time goes on.

I invade people daily as well. The pvp scene is still very alive. I can find people to invade constantly at pretty much anytime, anyday. Never gets old

@@codytussing9950 ERs combat is so advanced that i blitzed through bb, ds1 and demons realy fast. in bb, just spam R1/dodge and ull get by most of the time, in ds1 just strafe around enemies before they start their attack, u can backstab your way through 90% of the game, demons is hard cuz if you die u have run through the entire level, i love it, but goddamn is it tedious.

Ive just been watching this bit by bit as I play my first playthrough of dark souls. Bloodborne was my first souls game and I'm really happy to be starting the first souls games now!

DS1 I love over all of them. It's the map and the feel of the world. It really is a comfort game
cant blame you for that, ds1 was my first and will always have a special place in my heart, although ER is my favorite by far.
@flamingmanure elden ring just has so many different ways to play, I swear there's a video of weapons or talismans I haven't seen yet everyday. That's what I love and hate about it.

I can't believe it. So, Dark souls tried to copy elden ring? This is impossible I thought elden ring copied dark souls, but it turns out I was wrong.
I resonate with the comfort game statement, know the game like the back of my hand. I can play through it casually and always enjoy it. You can let the game challenge you or fly through random zones setting up an op build if you desire. Its the most open ended souls game IMO, and the best in the series.

Honestly, Elden Ring's legacy dungeon bosses are pretty nasty, to the point where going back to play any DS entries you missed makes them feel easy in comparison. I regret skipping DS3 because now I finally got around to playing it I'm breezing through the game, only having trouble with the regular dungeon enemies due to them whittling me down as I explore. I'm still having fun all the same.
DS1 came out september 2011 and skyrim november 2011 damn 2011 was a good year

I played every dark souls before and still like the dark theme more but damm i was very shocked when realised elden ring is an open world similar game, like every corner has something secret in it. Just getting to malenia would worth the price of the game and it's gonna be missed by most players
Ds2 was the first dark souls game I played so it's my favorite but if I remove that bias then I think ds1 is the best souls like it's just too iconic

I played ds1 as my first souls game after elden ring, and all I can say is that I was surprised by the difficulty, or rather the lack of it. The bosses went down very fast, and most enemies could be ignored pretty easily. Even the final boss only took me 3 tries
Yea; elden ring is a lot more strict with timings and punishing, whereas dark souls lets you get away with a bit more & the enemies don’t all input read
Same here although DS1 feels WAY more tedious than Elden Ring ever did. The boss runs are longer and even non-invader regular enemies can use heals. I've never seen an enemy in ER heal except for invaders. The game is so slow at the start and the rolling takes a lot of getting used to coming from Elden Ring.
same, I got the black knight sword at the start and then got black knight greataxe(idk how it's called in English), they carried me through the game and it was super easy
DS3 used to be my comfort game and now its Elden Ring. I dont knowbwhy hut whenever I'm in a gaming slump I always wind up back in The Lands Between.

I still don't really understand why so many people say DS is hard. I mean the gameplay is a little complicated but once you get the hang of it and you memorize where all the enemies and harder parts are it becomes really easy. like people get supe discouraged because of dying a lot but in the end the only thing you lose by sying is your currency, which is not that important either. like you can level up your character and weapons and then challenge bosses again and again without drawbacks

Never played this one, same with bloodborn, but I have ds2 and demon souls for ps3 and ds3, and elden ring, oh also sekiro, some of these I played a bit or have yet to beat but I really want to play bloodborn and ds1 they seem super fun.
Played ds1 for the first time last week, best experience ever. Playing this game blind is a pain in the ass, my second gameplay was a lot smoother.

Ahh memories. It was funny how the Capra Demon if I remember correctly made it to top 5 of The Hardest Bosses in DS. Then I found out you can stun lock him the Zweihander xD.
Also DS III imo is the souls formula perfected. (it just needed to turn poise on -_-)
