  • The secret to creating beautiful, realistic resin ocean art is tinted epoxy resin and a hairdryer: it's an easy technique that involves pouring layers of resin in various shades of blue, then finishing with a layer of white that gets pushed around with a hairdryer to create a lacing effect reminiscent of sea foam. Resin is essential to creating realistic ocean art: it's clarity, consistency and gloss replicate the look of water in a way you simply can't get with any other medium.
    In this video, we join artist Rebecca Brianceau who shows us how to use ArtResin and ResinTint to achieve a resin ocean art effect. These techniques will help take your resin art to the next level!

      Hi Cathy, You can add more white tint to make it more opaque (no more than 6% of the mixture). Another tip is to mix your white, then let it set for 15 or 20 minutes, it will start to thicken up and will not dissipate so much when poured.

      Rhonda Morrissey that’s false, it’s absolutely not “ totally non-toxic”. It’s only non-toxic until you mix the parts together and then will continue to off-gas until cured. And once you mix anything into it, such as pigments, all that non-toxic business goes out the window too. The only way you don’t need a respirator with art resin is if you have a very well ventilated work area, even then I’d still wear one. It’s not worth the risk to me.

    • @Artresin
      @Artresin  3 года назад

      Hi Maureen, we just use a regular blow dryer. The more heat you use, the easier the resin will move-you can experiment with what works best for your project. You can use a torch safely on your ArtResin, just ensure you do not let the flame linger in one area too long as it will burn the resin. It just takes a quick pass of the flame to clear the bubbles. Do not use a torch when using alcohol inks as alcohol is flammable.
