- We LOVED Athens, today we did an excursion that brought us to the Acropolis, the Temple of Zeus, Changing of the Guard & the Olympic Stadium. After that, we enjoyed some nice views and food in Mikrolimano before heading back to the ship.

i just got back home from Explorer of the sea cruice today. I joined the july 6-13trip. i believed i entred the boat when they left. thats cool!

We loved Athens. We opted for the earliest departure for the Hop on/Hop off bus. After visiting the Acropolis, we walked to the museum and from there we continued to walk to Platka where we explored and had lunch. We ended our day at the Olympic stadium where we opted to catch an Uber back to the port.
That was a smart move to do the earliest time! You beat the crowds and the heat!!

Awesome video. I remember going to Athens and touring the Acropolis years ago when I was in the Navy. Of course, I am so old, everything was still pretty new up there - - - lol. Enjoy the rest of your cruise. Can't wait to see your next video.

Great video. Youre living a good life. Yes Kala the Evil Eye. Also my family had the red horn to ward off evils. That statue in Brazil is the Statue of Jesus (Christ the Redeemer) in Rio de Janeiro . You guys always have interesting videos.

Yes as an Italian we had the red horn and the red ribbons everywhere lol! You can never have enough things to ward off bad luck! We also have horseshoes too, apparently if you hang them in the U shape it collects good luck!

We went to the acropolis last May about 2 hours before closing and the crowds were gone! Great pics and great timing if you just want a quick in and out

Honestly when we booked it we didn’t notice it was a private tour, but we were kind of thrilled when we found out! Mostly because we can film a lot easier without worrying about bothering other people, but also because we could do things on our own time and didn’t spend time waiting for groups etc. it was worth every penny and we would suggest it especially for Athens to avoid the crazy crowds!!

@jeighteen8297 💯 and this one wasn’t much more expensive than some of the bigger group ones I was seeing either. I think it was $500 Canadian for both of us and it included our tickets

We have done carnival celebration and jubilee you can see the vlogs on the channel. We are trying out celebrity and Norwegian later this year and then MSC next year! We want to get on princess one day soon too! We hear they have great pizza! 🍕
Nice to see Athens again. My family lived there for a few years when I was growing up. If I have my bearings right, the hills over Kala's shoulder at about 18:00 are down the coast and not far from Voula and Glyfada. We lived in Voula. Nice coverage of the downtown historical sites, thanks! Great job on Santorini as well.

It was called Zorbas and it was right on the water as you pull into the little port area. It had an amazing patio, delicious food and great service! definitely recommend!
What a great day!Our Greek isles/Med cruise starts out in Athens.I’m thinking now we should arrive a few days early 😊.I believe you can also take a ferry from there to one of the nearby islands?
I believe the ferry’s are pretty extensive in Greece, so you should be able to easily get from island to island. They also have airports in Athens and Mykonos too.
I’d definitely suggest spending the full day in Athens if you can, it was so amazing! 🤩

I really enjoy the videos!! We are looking at reservations in December of 2025 for the Greek Isles embarkation in Italy. We were just informed we need current COVID vaccines????!!! Is this really true????
That’s news to us!! We weren’t asked for any sort of Covid vaccination proof or anything like that and we were there in May 2024! Curious who told you that you needed that, was it the cruise line?

Perfect! Always check with the cruise line when you hear stuff like that! Some ports could still be strict about it you never know! But as far as we know we weren’t asked for any proof of vaccine!

We just returned from Norway on Anthem and had no issues with our drone and camera equipment.
As previously advised, we will be on Explorer in November (transatlantic run) and spending a few days in Barcelona first. Have you stayed in this city before? If so, any Viator tips and recommendations?

Hey James!! That’s so awesome that they didn’t give you any hard time about drones or anything, we always catch grief for the drone lol!
We have never been to Barcelona before (it’s definitely on our list). Viator is our usual go-to for booking excursions so we usually watch other content creators to see what they did in ports and then try to find something on viator that fits the budget. We like viator because you can earn cash credits when you book and can use those credits towards an excursion!
Kala you always look very well put together! Maybe they want to inspect Ryan cause he looks scruffy. I do like your content though.
Aww thanks so much! I think the camera draws a lot of attention to us, plus Ryan always has a backpack with extra batteries and other tech so I guess it looks sketchy lol! 😂
