      They keep making it seem like the Electoral College shouldn't me spoken about and they don't share much information about this process, but what kind of people there are in the process called Electoral College is easy to find in official websites. The explanation would be pretty long, so it's better if you make a small research. It's just to write "electoral college" and there are many links about it.

    • @wotmot223

      Not if they focus on this shit every single day. As for the next four years, honestly, if the democrats do not get themselves together they will lose more seats in the house and senate 2 years from now. And if Trump does even a mediocre job they will lose in four years. Mockery is fun, pulling their heads of out their asses would be more productive. Hate didn't in Trump this election, disgust with Clinton, and the tiresome mantra of " white people are bad, men are bad, who cares about the Midwest and south they are all cretins anyway " got Trump elected.

    • @Koujoung

      That's actually a very good point. I think Clinton was hoping Trump's campaign would implode on its own so she never even tried to tackle him aggressively on issues, policy and his goofs and gaffes, she didn't realize people were buying his bullshit and here we are today. As Bernie Sanders said, the Dems need to become a grassroot party, they need to reconnect with the rural and backward and working class voters (and they need someone whom the non-racist whites who voted for Trump will support)

    • @wotmot223
      @wotmot223 8 лет назад +3

      nep_ritz Not being a republican I can say I haven't seen many republicans talking about it. Independents yes, and not out of gloating but at disgust that the supposed progressive party has shoved their own heads up their behinds so that Trump could seem a better alternative. As for impeachment... gods that is funny, the republicans control the house to such a degree he would have to be caught buggering a dead woman or a little boy in public while screaming about nuking Canada before he would be impeached.

      Stephen Colbert is nothing without being able to make fun of politicians. All he has done to make his career is to try and put words in their mouths to make jokes. What this does is interfere's with business and international policy. They are just clowns trying to say their opinion is more important than elected officials. Basically a lot of the comedians, press, and talk show hosts today are bugs sucking the blood out of America. They laughed and said no way he would be elected, then he did. Now they are still talking and trying to bring down America and make it a socialist republic. Remember 2008 too big to fail, or any of the other wall street socialistic moves where the government took the wealth of the people to survive. That is socialism. Wake up people.

    • @UndeadSon
      @UndeadSon 8 лет назад +2

      "who is holding alex jones accountable? or the lies on facebook that got

      circling Facebook has been quite a big story the last few days.

    • @swunt10
      @swunt10 8 лет назад +7

      UndeadSon yes after the election. great. but what has that to do with accountability? accountability means there is a higher power like a press council or a government committee and they can hold the media accountable, meaning they can demand sources and investigate and then judge on punishments like an official statement that corrects false news e.g. next days front page or correction statement during a show. do you want trump to judge the investigative journalism (into trumps doings) of the post or times? then good bye free press and hello to erdogans turkey or putins russia because trump is not a rational actor who understands the virtue or separating power. that's what he meant with saying he will open up those liable laws so he can sue the press.

    I'm a big fan of Colbert, but if I'm reading between the lines correctly in his standup it looks like he's moved on from an incredulous despair to a sort of bitter animosity (suddenly all the outright cursing, and that sardonic "clapping for catastrophe" to the crowd felt a bit snappy). I understand his anger and disappointment with this entire election debacle, it really is depressing and in some ways maddening, but I hope it doesn't seduce him into hate. Here's a reassuring poem from Tolkien, "All Woods Must Fail":
    O! Wanderers in the shadowed land
    Despair not! For though dark they stand,
    All woods there be must end at last,
    And see the open sun go past:
    The setting sun, the rising sun,
    The day's end, or the day begun.
    For east or west all woods must fail.

    • @RedZeshinX
      @RedZeshinX 8 лет назад +1

      Claystead Ah that's it, yes the Barrow-wight stole their garments and clothed them in ancient raiments, and after Tom saved them he encouraged them to cast the Barrow-wight clothes off and run about on the sunny hillsides to reinvigorate themselves from the icy death they had narrowly escaped, while he tracked down their ponies and luggage.

    • @RedZeshinX
      @RedZeshinX 8 лет назад

      SZF123456 I don't have any political standing myself either (I'm neither liberal nor conservative and have voted for candidates from both parties, as I think neither truth nor good public policy are exclusive to any ideology or absolute to all circumstances), but even I found this election very disheartening and dispiriting. And I think Colbert's cursing was definitely unscripted, likely provoked by some strong emotions following this painful election.

      You understand that calling out the lies and bigotry of your leaders is a Morally justifiable position. If you don't scrutinize your leaders you are just as guilty as them for their racism and bigotry.
      Just because we have a racist president doesn't mean we should all embrace racism. It is his moral obligation to not let this go. Turning a blind eye to Trump's future attempts to undermine our democracy would be un-American.

    When I look at the comments there is an abvious amount of hurt but also an enourmous amount of vitriol aimed at other Americans. For all you people who revere MLK and Ghandi is that how they brought about change? Or is that what they were trying to expose to stop the hate and fighting?
    If you're hurt and scared be hurt and scared! Transmitting that pain into aggression will keep fueling intolerance for those not like you. You want to grow in maturity? Transform that pain into some sort of compassion that will make it easier to talk with those whom you might not agree. Its possible. But it really depends on whether "being right" is more important to you than being caring.

    Gotta love the simple mind of the Trump supporter. To them, everyone else is either delusional or stupid, while their dinner table, college dropout ideas about politics make the most sense.
    "What evidence do you have that Hillary is corrupt?"
    _"Wow you are a delusional libtard just do a little research on the body count"_
    "What body count? There's no evidence to support any of that"
    _"Go google it, biased media chooses not to report it"_
    "There are zero independent credible news sources that support that, can you be a little more specific?"
    _"Whatever libtard I'm not your teacher go do your own research keep supporting corruption facism progressiveness feminism political correctness bla bla bla"_
    Oh, and this typical conversation applies to "go read Wikileaks", various donations to the Clinton foundation, and the unsubstantiated pay-for-play allegations.

      ***** You do realise that's a stunningly poor example yes? Muslims overwhelmingly voted against Trump.

      ***** Bush was a Republican, and he left office in 2008. Democrats only had the office between 2008 and 2012, but the Republicans had the House Majority.
      And please stop with that "killary" nonsense. Hillary is not a killer.
      And what do you mean by screwing America over? Obama's administration saw a rise in employment rates, and a drop in crime rates. The economy is shit, but much better than when it was in the hands of Bush, a Republican.

    “It’s not his entertainment, it’s his way of getting round the press”. Absolutely right, you nailed it, Mr. Colbert. Can’t say you didn’t try.

    I'm getting kind of sick of how one sided Colbert's politics are, but he is still funny so I'm still watching.
