Let me get this straight.... a cop is looking in the widows of a private home, see someone inside (like it is completely unexpected and out of the ordinary for a person to be inside a house), and immediately shoot into an occupied dwelling without identifying his target, killing the person who lives there.
    Do I have the right?
If so, then the cop should face the exact same punishment that you or I would get for doing the exact same thing... *20 to life for criminally negligent homicide.*
Actually he should face worse since HE is the trained professional and SHOULD be held to a higher standard.

I don't want to sound mean but, if the state of Texas hanged every bad officer who does this and show it publicly, officers would think twice before they used lethal force. Because the immediate threat on the officers life would be on the officers mind, but so would the noose if he is at fault for the murder, which this officer obviously is.

First Botham Jean, and now this 28 year old female. Young Lives, lives taken away too soon. The lady probably did not have a chance to react to anything. I wonder if she heard the officer outside? Based on what I saw on the body cam, it happened so fast...too fast! He did not even identify himself, nor did he give her a chance to identify herself and to respond in any way before he shot. This year alone, 36 officers have been killed by gunfire. Not sure what you do for a living but, unless you’re a drug dealer, I’d say your profession is safer. Even if she did have a gun...IT'S HER HOME. She's allowed too! Why in the world is he on her property without reasonable suspicion?

Her door was open and the screen door was closed. Probably cut the a/c off to let some cool air come in.

It’s the purge, open season y’all seems like. I can’t wait to follow this trial to see how threatened the officer could be. Sounds like he needs some mental help like quick

Door was opened, that’s why the neighbor called, to see if everything was okay. Police could have walked in without shooting her through the window
