  • Intense bodycam footage captures the dramatic moment Ohio police arrested two stalking suspects after a wild foot chase through a Walmart on August 13th. The Cleveland Police Department stated that Shanaja Jones and Walter Clay Robinson Jr. took off running when confronted by officers inside the supercenter. The video shows the chaotic pursuit as police scrambled to apprehend the fleeing pair.

The chase ultimately ended with both Robinson and Jones in handcuffs, facing charges of menacing by stalking. However, Jones found herself in deeper legal trouble, with additional charges of murder and contempt of court tacked on. The bodycam footage provides a gripping look at the high-stakes chase and apprehension of these suspects, who were determined to evade arrest at any cost inside the bustling retail store. The dramatic scenes unfolded as stunned Walmart shoppers looked on in disbelief.

For safety, they often don’t pull a car over because of the chance to suspect might flee in the vehicle and initiate a pursuit putting other drivers at risk or have weapons in the vehicle. Safer to make the arrest on foot with the element of surprise.

The problem is the relatively high number of false convictions.
More than a few people are in prison for life or very long sentences for crimes they didn't commit.
At least with a prison sentence there is a way to somewhat rectify that situation with release and monetary compensation (and if needed a new identity).
