    Hello from the high desert of New Mexico USA 🇺🇸. FYI that green PVC line is not designed for fuel, please replace it with the white nylon fuel line . I hope this helps you out. Keep up the good work and stay safe and charged

      It’s not green. That’s the colour of our diesel in Australia. It’s a clear plastic pipe.

    Awesome mate thank you, i have the exact same van! and have just bought a diesel heater, so i came looking for install ideas so this was perfect! i was going to try and wire it into the BMPRO battery management system but just going straight to the battery looks a lot easier!. the only thing missing from this video is a bit more footage of the wiring and the install of the fuel tank.

      Hello thank you for your feedback. The diesel heater we purchased was pretty well plug and play. The only real hard wiring was the positive and negative wire to the battery which is fused

    From the instructions i have seen the muffler should be mounted so the drain hole can drain condensate. Good video though.

    • @thevettes_
      @thevettes_  2 года назад +2

      We have found the air pressure has been strong enough to remove the condensation from the line, The exhaust line is on a slight angle downwards.
      Thanks for the review, we are glad you liked the video :)

  • @bryanjary9691
    @bryanjary9691 19 дней назад +1

    Your exhaust is mounted wrong. There is a drain hole in it that should point down.

    Does the metal plate who comes with the kit become hot when the heater in working??...the exhaust will be ok but the plate just over it??Asking this because i want to install mine in the bed of my tacoma truck,the bed is made of fiberglass...i don't want to melt the bed lol!!I will wrap the exhaust but i know it will be hot anyways.

    • @thevettes_
      @thevettes_  2 года назад +2

      I’d imagine the plate would get a little warm but the exhaust is definitely the hottest part to be concerned about

    Hi, where is the cold air drawn from? I couldn't tell if the hole was drilled internally or through the side of the van. Thanks.

    • @thevettes_

      Hi it’s drilled internally on the side of our bed frame

    I'm wondering...can you install those vertically, like on the wall of a garage?

    • @thevettes_
      @thevettes_  2 года назад

      Hi I think they are designed to be horizontal due to the way the fuel goes in

    • @jamesmason7124
      @jamesmason7124 2 года назад +1

      Hello from the high desert of New Mexico USA 🇺🇸. Yes you can mount the heater on a wall , but you must mount it horizontal and with the glow plug facing upward, take the cover off and you will see the silicone cover for the glow plug. I hope this helps you. Stay safe

    When you initially installed the heater all the wiring went down through the floor but when you showed us under the van the wiring was not there. What did you do with it? does it come out somewhere else? Cheers

    • @thevettes_
      @thevettes_  Год назад +1

      Hello, the only section of wiring that went through the floor was for the fuel pump.
      The remainder of the wiring stayed inside the under bed compartment as it was all close to the batteries
      Cheers

    Why not reverse the air inlet so it takes in air from the caravan interior?

    • @thevettes_
      @thevettes_  4 месяца назад

      It currently has a inlet inside the van, the one coming from outside is to ignite the combustion part

    Nice video. Kind of worrying that the floor of your van is made of wood! Not even a metal layer on the bottom of it? That's shoddy as hell

    • @wigs1098
      @wigs1098 10 месяцев назад

      Pretty common on a lot of caravans. Also old cars back in the day had wooden floors exposed to the elements, they survived well enough, not shoddy at all, just common practice and it saves weight.

      @@thevettes_ ..My unit came with 2 plates and I naturally assumed that it was to form a sandwich type affair with all the pipes etc running through BOTH of them. With sealant on both plates Inside & outside, there would be little chance of water damaging your floor, whereas now, there is not much chance of escaping damage as water will soak your exposed timber floor timber, regardless of the bit of paint you put on the cut surfaces. I was just going to fit a mesh type opening to the interior of the van for the intake at the opposite end of the heater, as all it is doing is recirculating the air already in the van, with the fresh air coming in from below.
