Thanks for watching! Your spot on too, I have tilted the exhaust slightly downward. Even just washing the van it splashed a bit.. but it does have a small drain hole in the muffler too.. which would help.
I notice that a lot of people don't install an intake. They seem to lock it away in a cupboard. It will make the fan work pretty hard to suck air down through cracks in the couch to get air.
We drilled two big holes for air intake and the passage flows all the way through from under the bed if you follow the tunnel. More fresh air than it would ever use

I have installed a lot of these heaters, and I must say you did a great job but definitely replace that green PVC line (which is not fuel rated)with the white nylon fuel line. Keep up the good work and stay safe and charged.
Great video mate. I found the extra watch for this type of tips is what makes your install video a must before installation. Not trying to be too picky but the fuel line from the tank as it goes under the Van is it going through the checker plate or over it. I see you have insulated/protected the fuel on the outside of the Van but the bit going through the plate will be subject damage on the entry hole. Use a electrical rubber grommet to fix this. Not sure if it was mentioned but Sikaflex is not a Thermal Protection its just able to handle that heat rang as a sealant. I would use something like cement sheet at the base of your heater with the SikaFlex. That Sikaflex sticks like shit to a blanket. Disposable gloves are a must when I use the Marine Sikaflex for my boat fittings. Cheers

I might add, (since I see the dust under your caravan) that you look into using a motorcycle air filter, instead of the one this unit is shipped with. Dust will eventually be an issue on the glow plug orifice. Great job & enjoyed the 'To Do'

Since you have such a nice trailer I think it would look good to use a Rotopax tank for a fuel tank. If you had shut off valves on the outlet you could even carry a second for extra capacity. I got a cheap handgun case with the foam cut out for my pump. I literally cannot hear my pump at all
Good installation video. Just a comment on the use of high temp sealant. The high temp property only means it does not degrade , it doesn’t mean the sealant insulates the floor from the heat. In my opinion the heat is well below any danger of causing floor material being in danger of combustion. You have to remember that these Chinese copy heaters are based on more expensive original Western designs.

Sounds great! I used plumbing foam, it’s a this dense squishy foam and I was very very generous with it. Wrapping it around and using thick cable ties to hold it to the pump.. then more layers. It’s been good and quite:)
Having some issues with sourcing this 'plumbing foam'. It seems that the plumbers and plumbing stores I have spoken to today don't know what it is. Plus I also enquired with Bunnings. All of these plumbers are only familiar with the black tubular foam that wraps around hot water service copper tubing OR the green foam that waps around PVC pipes before a concrete pour. It looks to me that you have 2 types of foam to cover the pump. A white sided piece of black foam that has come off a roll and that is fairly thin and it is wrapped around the pump a few times and then, followed with a much thicker white coloured foam that is wrapped up with cable ties. I am thinking the 'dense squishy foam' description should lead me to the plumbing foam you have suggested, but it isn't. Does the foam you used have a proper name and/or can you tell me the name of the retail outlet you used to source your foam? Many thanks. This has become a great mystery!!! Chaslie.
@chaslie the black tube foam is what I used. There were different thickness ones where I went and I got the thickest. The white foam I had there was very stiff thick packing foam.

Thanks! It’s worked really well in that spot so far. Maybe if I end up putting a big toolbox on the drawbar.. I might get a bigger tank, but honestly this supplied one lasts a long time. When we use the heater, we tend to run it for a few hours before bed the ‘pre-heat’ the van before bed and do the same in the mornings before we wake up.. this tank would easily last a week like that. Pretty happy with it
Good install video well done very neat…a quick spray paint of the diesel tank before fitting may help protect it from future sun & UV damage. I got my 2kw heater for $140 delivered 4 weeks ago & picked my new van up only 2 weeks ago so yet to fit it. So your video will be very helpful in a couple of week time. Cement sheet down first is a good tip I will use now as well. Mine is going to go under the seat as well + I’m putting a small cheap air vent (Bunnings) in so it can draw air into it easier.
Should definitely change to the smaller hard fuel line, as it maintains the pulse / injection of fuel into the atomizer, resulting in better running of the heater. The issue with that green fuel line it's too lager diameter, and, too soft, resulting in 1. the fuel just dribbling out into the atomizer, 2. the pump unable to push the fuel reliably to the heater 3. which can lead to ignition issues, flame out situations etc... We have used very very large extra heavy duty cable ties to hang the fuel pump so that it is not 'hard mounted' but effectively hanging in a very secure way (and not hanging from the fuel line at all) it is wrapped in a thick dense insulating refrigeration foam and then thick (less dense) packing foam.. then the super large cable ties keep it all together. Apologies for not showing the end result, but it needed testing and some fine tuning from my initial mounting of the pump to get perfect.
Hi mate, we have a few hundred amp hours of lithium battery in our van, so we connected it straight to the caravan battery’s. You could also put an in-line master switch if you were worried about it draining a smaller battery.

Sika does make some of the best sealants in the world, but, I'd not let that one come in direct contact with the exhaust outlet, for instance, if someone weren't using that flange that you've got. I don't think it's rated for that sort of heat.

Shouldn't use that tank, just T into the fuel line of your truck (if you have a diesel that is of course). No smelly diesel inside. I'm going to reuse that tank for water.

Hi mate, I’m very sorry your upset. You are always welcome to ask, if you think there is some thing your not sure on. There is no direction foe the fuel line, it can go both ways, or if you mean where I payed the fuel line, it just goes from point A. To point B. In the shortest pay possible keeping clear of any moving parts. The fuel pump has an arrow on it to show which direction it goes and the filter too. (Unless you use the filter that came with the kit, which I wouldn’t recommend) Hope this helps a little. I’m sorry if this wasn’t clear in the video though. Thanks for watching though!

Haha yes we have to wear masks here atm, we also have very very little cases. The frame is steel and painted l. Yes we do enjoy the camper, we are very lucky to have it and the kids really enjoy the time away in it. Thanks for watching!

Looks great. I’m no expert but I think the exhaust hose should all run downward. Water is a by-product of combustion so it might build up in your hose

Any reason why you didn't cut out the flooring and mount to the wooden base?
Interesting how theres only a plywood on the floor. No insulation or weatherproofing

It is close, it has since been shielded though. All has been ok so far.

76mm hole saw for the vents, and 102mm hole saw for the floor.
