Thank you for this. I bought this versus several others because of the large battery capacity and the potential to upgrade it beyond its base version (while still not costing $40000). Looking forward to getting mine in october!
My understanding of the battery indicator is without throttle it's the battery life left; with throttle is it's the current load placed on the battery. So when you're full throttle it's not displaying how much battery is left rather the load that is on the battery, if that makes sense.
I have a Bee Cool Adventurer and its about to hit 400 miles. A great e-bike for my 17 mile daily commute to work! I had to upgrade the rear shock. I also upgraded to an adjustable neck stem..
The difference between the GPS and bike Odo could be caused by the wheel dimension in program settings, a fat tyre 26'' should actually be set to 28''-29'' for accurate speed/distance, or so I've been told.
The SW900 is a fairly basic display, you were having difficulties gauging how much battery range was left by the 5 battery bars on the display which isn't accurate. Having a voltage reading of the current battery state on the display would be so much more helpfu. I use a 52 volt battery with this display and in the beginning of using it i just had to guess range. I now carry a multimeter and check battery health every 10 miles or so. I plan on installing a voltage meter on the handlebars in the near future. Great vid and review Citizen looking forward to the next.
On my Bee Cool Adventurer I can check accurate battery voltage on the SW900 display. Pressing and holding the middle & up buttons for 3 times shows accurate battery voltage.
My battery bar does the same thing.Voltage sag (or voltage dip) is what happens when you apply a load to a source of electricity. If the source is really big and the load is really small then you won’t notice it that much. But if the load is large enough the voltage will drop. That is why we see the bars drop like that I think.
You are correct. When you ask a battery to do work, it will show you it's true colors. You should also be aware that multimeters draw very little current, so a weak battery can show full charge.
This was a great review citizen, I just bought this bike, can you tell me what you had your tire size setting it in the display. Thank you my battery was doing the same thing, I thought I had a problem until I watch this video, thank you again
What is the difference between displaying Battery voltage vs percentage on the speedometer display top right corner on some E bicycles. Btw that is some strong E bicycle and i 👍 like it.
Ugh really really struggling right now to not pull the trigger on one!! I have an ecotric fat tire that I’ve had for almost 2 years now and would love to have the 750w motor and full suspension plus it looks great!!
With the dual suspension, was it a comfortable 3 hour ride? Could you notice a difference between this bike and one that does not have a rear suspension?
Hey Ricky… Ive got a Sondors Rockstar with a Bafang mid-drive motor (750 watt but can re-tune to get 1000 or even 2000 watt's, chk out Watt Wagon Bafang Ultra conversion) …Its a full blown mountain bike geometry. With the mid-drive you use the bikes transmission.. mine is an 11 speed SRAM… It pulls like a mountain goat. Definitely more performance oriented and much greater versatility in the gearing.. but if you break a chain, ya gotta fix it or your pushin it back. My wife is getting an Addmotor M-50… 750 watt (continuous watt’s) rear hub motor… The 7 speed Shimano bike transmission is completely independent of her hub motor. With 5 levels of PAS you basically get 5 different speed levels which can make following somebody a challenge because the speed is not infinitely variable…but quantized into 5 speed groups selected electronically and independent of the bikes pedal transmission… One good thing though (especially for the wifey) is that a broken chain will not affect the hub motor and you can just throttle it like a motorcycle. In summary, if you like performance and enjoy shifting, then the mid-drive is the way to go.. but if you appreciate simplicity and convenience and like automatic transmissions in your automobile.., then a hub motor might be a better way to go… I went mid-drive because Im more performance oriented and enjoy shifting… My wife went hub motor for the operational simplicity & ease of operation… plus the safety of riding back if the drive chain breaks… I hope this might help explain the diff to people who are not yet familiar with the 2 types of ebike motors.., and sorry it was so long winded… I hope maybe your already riding one Ricky! Keep listening to Citizen Cycle.. he does some of the best reviews!

My question is about the motor which they state is a 750/1000 motor. On my explorer it shows about 500 watts under full constant throttle and going up hill peaks around 750. Based on my experience it means it is a 500/750 motor. I am in discussions with Bee Cool about this issue. They sent me a copy of your video which says nothing about motor size. I noticed in your video, your wattage display showed about the same. Did you notice this issue? I really like the bike, stops on a dime, but is slower than my xp or aventure.
@@CitizenCycle925 yes i did. that is my point. if you look at your wattage your constant will be around 500 instead of 750 at full throttle or pedaling. If it was a true 750/1000 watt motor, you should have seen around 1000 watts not 803.
I am wanting to do my Himiway cruiser like you did your radrover frankenstein bike . Do you think it's possible by just adding a front hub motor , 2nd battery and controller independently for front ?
Super Impressive Range regardless. I love that look and the size of the battery. Do you ever get rid of bikes? Im using a 300w 24v 10aH ebike thats about 6-7 years old for weight loss and I only get 14miles. If you ever gave bikes away please think of me. I could really use an upgrade and Im really strapped for cash lol. Ty
"The manufacturer recommends a max pressure of 15......but I used 22!" YOLO Now I see why it did so well in range. No one else has gotten quite that much which shows how important PSI is to range. I will remember that when mine arrives.
The tire is rated for max pressure of 30 psi. I run all of my bikes at 20psi or higher. If the tire pressure is under 15psi I start noticing it in the steering. I guess you got to do whatever you're comfortable with 😁
That's pretty incredible. Ha, I was wondering if you would be close to home when it died and how you would get back. Can't the wifey come with the Tacoma to get you and throw it in the back of the pick up?
I love being able to go long distance but what does your wife think of getting on and off this one? 😀she the right height for me to tell how big it is.
Phone gps is the worse thing to keep track of anything. You can deal with up to a 15% inaccuracy. Especially depending on what phone you have and the service you have. And the way those battery packs are made in all ebikes, the worse thing you can do is kill it. Totally killing the battery, you just ruined the full capability of it forever. Kinda like anything with batteries. You should really tell people when you are doing these tests, "not to kill the battery while riding." For longevity of the battery pack.
It’s amazing the range claim is accurate and “full throttle” even. Usually you get what they say if you go slow. Great video!
Thank you for this. I bought this versus several others because of the large battery capacity and the potential to upgrade it beyond its base version (while still not costing $40000). Looking forward to getting mine in october!
Me too
Beecool would be my top pick for my first ebike!
Good Job Citizen, That's Crazy mileage!!
Great Video.
Thank you for the advice. I will be putting voltage gauges on my bike build as well. Have a great weekend.

Really digging the Bee Cool
Your reviews are great man, really wished they shipped to the UK, I emailed Becool today and sadly they don't. Keep up the great work though.
I've olso got a 52v 21ah battery so thank you for doing the range test 🙌
Sure no problem, I had to see what it could do
If only I could git my leg over that frame.

My fat tire came with a 22ah and range is why I picked it . I have a bad knee , but know I can always get home .

Could be my bike in the future.

It would be good if you did a range test on all your bike s
Awesome range. Gotta think 60-70 is very doable. Does bike have quick release front tire?
The BeeCool bikes do have a quick release front wheel.
I have the Adventurer and can only hit 22ish mph on flat land. How are you getting it to go 25+mph? Do I have to change the programed settings?
I think to get an accurate reading of the battery power you have to check the power panel on the battery itself
WARNING: BEECOOL does NOT honor their own warranty. They write and say the parts ordered but 4 months later still no parts.
Great review ! Quick question for you. I have the himiway cruiser and what tire psi do you recommend when I weigh 215 lbs and mostly on asphalt?
How’s the motor noise? Is it very noticeable, especially under load?
Can you do a test between a geared hub motor and a direct drive, same watts, weight, gears etc? Or what are ppls thoughts if they’ve ridden both?!? Danke

I did go into the display settings and increased my controller amps to the max, did you try that? My display seemed to be hitting about 803 watts.

I have a bad one. On a full charge only getting 17 miles on throttle
Does yours not have the meter on the battery?
I'm getting one since gas is going to be 6-7 dollars a gallon by November

It may take 6 to 8 weeks or longer to get your order.
Have you got it yet ?Just ordered the adventurer today I’ll let you know what happens they said ships in 2 business days
@@eliasmachuca8680 I ordered mine on March 30th but I have not received a shipping date yet. How long did it take for you to get your bike?
