When i bought my Himiway they have a $50 coupon - rear bike rack also for free a tool kit -fenders-lights (Front & Back) a very nice cell phone holder - a metered bike pump (foot pump) - Total price was $1349 and a bigger battery - haven`t gone over 30 miles and still had plenty of juice left - i hardly ever use throttle just pedal assist and like Citizen said the ability to climb hills is effortless and maintains 16-20 mph up hill. I never changed the settings because i am very satisfied by the performance it is set at - maybe down the road but for now its great ! Customer service was very good and that is usually hard to come by. Himiway gets a A + from me :-)

Then you buy a large non-proprietary battery at 1/2 the cost that ebike manufacturers charge for them and et voila! When YT yammerheads promote these cheap low-end ebikes they are doing so for their own benefit, not because the bikes are good in any way other than being inexpensive. My husband got a Rad Rover 5 and I got a Himiway ST. We were really impressed with the quality of Himiway and its a beast. Unfortunately, I had to sell it just after 2 weeks and ordered myself a Rad Runner Plus. The reason I sold my Himiway was the bike was too big and the Step Thru was tight. I'm 5'4" tall so I really struggled to stop and need to tiptoe. I worry all the time when I ride especially when I have to stop at the light or etc. Now after waited for 4 1/2 months, finally got my Rad Runner Plus and I glad I sold my Himiway. Now I enjoy and feel more confident to ride and no worry. I can say from my experience with Himiway - its a really solid bike and good quality. Their customer service was really superb. Its a pity Himiway they dont have many design and choices. Thats my opinion as my husband love his Rad Rover 5.

Himiway has a youtube channel with several instructional videos. There are also two owners groups on Facebook, at least one group includes the company itself. The customer service experience I've had so far has been very good, they've responded within 24 hours to emails and a weekend voicemail I left. My experience is limited however as those contacts were related to delivery of the bike and accessories.

The reason the tires on the Himiway are quieter is that the center row of knobs are close together. Therefore they do not have a gap to fall into and hitting harder between knobs making the road noise. They may be more aggressive on the outer edge but on hard roads the center of the tire is where it rides the most.

Thanks for another great video 👍👏👏.......It looks like the Himiway would be the best choice for a lot of people. It not only comes with the back rack, but standard with the controller upgrade that you would really like to have, especially if you live in a hilly area, and very possibly the motor upgrade, which would all cost extra, and would also void your warranty with Radpower. The only question for somebody would be; does the difference in step over height mater to you.

I've got the 2020 regular black Radrover, which i am very happy with.I am impressed with this Himiway though and would like to see you review the regular model as well.As a future upgrade i would see the benefit of an already more powerful bike compared to upgrading the Radrover.Could just buy a Himiway instead of the cost and hassle of upgrading my bike.

The Himiway is my personal daily bike. Pretty much for all the reasons you stated. You get the rear rack, fenders, a larger battery (17.5) and 2 year warranty on the battery all for a lower price than the rad.

I was going to by the Himiway until I saw many comments about poor or non existent customer service, and so I bought the Rover. The really good news is that I can use the battery from my Runner as a back up power on really long trips. Rad has the best record for after market follow up.

I've been looking at and reading reviews. The Himiway keeps getting good marks overall, for the price point. I think I'm gonna go for one in the spring. It will be my first ebike. I'll be using it for a city commute, jumping on and off bike paths that aren't quite finished with construction yet, all within Brooklyn. Looking forward to it! Thanks for the thorough review~!

With the controller moved on the hemmingway the seat tube is able to move back closer to the wheel, making the frame geometry closer to a normal bike from what I can see here. I LOVE my Rover BUT I find I sit forward more than what is ideal.

Thanks you for pointing out Himiway!
I was leaning towards getting a Rad Rover or RR Step Through, but was worried it would be underpowered for the very steep hills near my house.
I'd be especially interested to see how the two bikes compare on hill climb.
I'm also interested to see how the Himiway compares in hill climb to your upgraded RR.
I'm assuming I'll want to upgrade my new RR controller and maybe motor at some point, and I wonder if the Himiway might not require this. That would be another great savings, in addition to the lower price and included rear rack.
    Thanks for your reviews!

I'm happy to report that our new Himiways are in fact able to get us up our super steep hill... with us peddling, but not needing to stand up off the seat.
Someone who lives on the street called out that he had never seen anyone ride up that hill!
My wife told him that we had motors.
I was just going to flex. 💪😛

GREAT COMPARISON. Thanks so much for the work you did to make this video. Rad bikes are tried and true, but with companies like Himiway improving the 750w hub motor 26” Fat Bike at that price, I think Rad Power Bikes will have to start doing more to keep market share. Rad Power Bike customer service is touted as one of the best in the industry. So that is where Himiway must do better to compete.
Still Amazed Himiway is able to keep the price so low! Either they are running on ultra low profit margins or they cut corners that know one else has figured out and it doesn’t seem to be on the parts.
Mmm. Maybe they just don’t spend as much on marketing as their competitors? It was genius of them to send you a bike to do this review. You’ve done the Best advertising I’ve seen so far for them!

    • @tomriffe1755
      @tomriffe1755 3 года назад

My impression like most buisineses is that your profit margin is fairly minimal the first few years. They're building the brand so to speak, then, just like Rad did a few weeks ago, they raised the price 100 dollars.

    Great review. Thanks.
As I research getting an ebike to make hills a little easier someday, I’m seeing that many of these ebikes seem like light class motorcycles with pedals. I like the idea of regular bicycle, but with the potential to do a little assisting which is why I’m looking at Townies. The seat is comfortable like a Harley that I’m used to and the flat foot geometry is a big plus. I already own a 21D Townie and really like it but because the the pedal forward design, hills are a problem.
I was very impressed with the looks of a guys Himiway I saw on a rails to trails the other day but I have to say I’m beginning to sense an uncomfortableness on the part of hikers and bicycle riders to these large heavy scaled down motorcycles with pedals as they fly by. 😐

I have 2 bikes that I converted to ebikes and I love that you can pick the power, voltage, battery size and type etc and you can choose between front, mid or rear motors, rather than being stuck taking whatever the companies offer. You can tailor it to your needs.

I would encourage those who are contemplating a Himiway to take my
experience into account. It's just about 2 months since I plunked down
$1549 and I'm still waiting for my cruiser. I've been promised various
delivery dates in nice emails from different names--Jennie, Ellen,
Yukyin--but the promises remain unfulfilled. The latest email promised
that it would be shipped by the end of May. My emails and phone calls
are now going unanswered which is very concerning. I know supply lines
for bike parts are under pressure but Himiway should've been honest about
that when they took my money. Or waited to charge my credit card until
    the bike shipped...

What has happened to you is not good. You need to get legal advice about your problem. The sooner the better. Call your bank or credit card company. These bike companies are not like buying a motorcycle from Honda or Yamaha. Some are fly by night companies. The people that make these videos do not have a background in riding mountain bikes, dirt bikes and other bikes. I can tell they haven't been around the world of two wheels. I hope that it works out for you. Buyer beware.

Very educational, transparent, objective video. I'm interested in a 26/4 fat tire, full suspension, with a concealed or partially concealed battery inside the frame. I would prefer it to have a 1500w motor to reach over 30mph but if a 1000w can get the job done that's fine. I was going to buy the Frey City Commute but realized its tires are relatively narrow. What would be your best recommendation around or below 3,000? Thanks on advance...

I just got my Hiimiway this Sat, Columbus Day weekend. I rode it both Sat and Sun. It's super toquey and is a beast.
IT COMES PRESET AS A CLASS 2 EBIKE, BUT YOU CAN EASILY CHANGE IT TO A CLASS 3 THROUGH THE SETTINGS. (You can't do this with a Rover I don't think without having to buy another module?) There are videos all over here and it's wicked easy; I did it Sat night.I had my Himiway going 34 MPH Sunday! 30 MPH down packed straightaway forest paths too. Thing is fun. Also changed the peddle assist settings from 0-5 to 0-7. The ability to change the settings is deep with the Himiway and a great feature I totally did not expect and am totally psyched about. I think I made a good decision based on this review. Time will tell.
