I’ve been wanting to check out a welder for my garage. I can see some roll cages in your future. I’m afraid I will become addicted to fabricating when I buy one, I was already considering a Miller as well. Always good information coming from your shop. If you were closer I would have to come work for you.
I started TIG welding about a year ago or so, mainly wanted to learn aluminum because every time I needed something aluminum welded I don't really know of any body in the area that does it. So I bought a machine and started figuring it out. I just went with the cheap AHP machine to get rolling, I didn't know how much I was really going to do or use it but honestly it's been a great machine I can't complain especially for $750. I've gotten better with aluminum and do okay with stainless but it definitely takes time and patience.
Yes sir. The last shop I worked at in Florida about 6 years ago we had a guy. Since moving back to Michigan I had to take the wheel and do it as no one else in my area.
@@MRM-wp4gr I still have the machine and still use it to this day no complaints it's been working flawlessly. Not gonna lie I would love to have an Everlast but no sense spending the money when I have 1 that works good.
Surprised the board never failed in the lincoln squarewave. Two of my buddies failed, I get anxiety everytime I fire mine up. The new board is $1200 when a new machine is $2300. When it does decide to give up im definitely not buying another, 15 second post flow........
@@MakingFitnessEasy Probably. From looking at the parts manual, the Syncrowave 210 has gone through several engineering revisions since it was released. There are definite advantages to getting a new machine that has already been out for several years. Anything that caused warranty claims early on has probably been fixed by then. The Sync 210 is also part of one of Miller's flagship product lines and is marketed for light industrial use. Miller has a very strong incentive to keep them out of the repair shop.
@@NorthernPerformanceCars mine tends to collect dust in the garage so if you ever get any error codes try a little contact cleaner and it should fire right up.
Wear some tig gloves bro lol. The UV rays your skins getting off that arc isn’t healthy. & you don’t want any colour (oxidization) on your welds. Colour is a defect with TI. you gotta up your gas lens and cup size to like a 12, you want as much gas coverage as possible 👍🏻
No doubt! I always catch myself without gloves too. I have a lot to learn with titanium. I’ve only touched it a couple times. I use a fupa 12 frequently with stainless. Thanks for the tips though man! Appreciate it

are you happy with the AHP, or would you rather have something else like the everlast?

I just ordered the same machine. Having buyer remorse. Thinking I should had gotten maybe a everlast machine or equivalent.
I really like it. It’s a smooth welder. I use it almost daily. Very reliable and consistent.

I had mine 4-4.5 years. It was really good to me! But yes. The post flow was annoying
@@NorthernPerformanceCars Think the board on the Miller will outlast the Lincoln?

Great vid! Got a link for the upgraded cups you bought?
Unfortunately I do not. They are fupa 12 cups (my favorite) I think baker has sells them.
Get you one of them fupa #12 gas lense and back purge. Oooffffff
I have this same machine. Have you had any issues with the SD card reader?
I actually haven’t even used it yet!
