On row 1 you should have 50 stitches then increase 16 stitches each row up to and including row 6 gives the following
    Row 2 -66 st
    Row3 - 82st
    Row 4 - 98st
    Row 5 - 114st
    Row 6 - 130st
And row 7 is only an increase of 8st giving 138st
I hope this helps others who bare confused by the video

PLEASE READ THIS COMMENT The way this square yolk is made so its not wide at the neck as to slip down the baby's shoulder or be too gappy at the neck. THE 1st round the corners are shared by the stitches. Even though you are making corners on the VERY FIRST ROUND there is NO INCREASE. YOU will have 50 stitches after round 1. go into each corner with 2 stitches a chain and 2 stitches you WILL be INCREASING BY 16 NOT 8 AS I SAID IN THE VIDEO Only Round 7 will increase by 8
    the rows are as follows
    row 1 - 50 stitches row 2 - 66st row 3 - 82st row 4 - 98st row 5 - 111st row 6 - 126st row 7 - 135st I do apologies for the mistake.

I started making cArdigans about 4 years ago. I just learned top down method this past year or two. I made afghans, hats, scarves, baby blankets, etc. for about 40 years. Then I stopped crocheting for 10 years due to arthritis. NowI crochet all day and my hands are better than ever. The movement seems to help. Anyway, I just wanted to say how making garments opens up a whole new world of crochet!!

I was looking for an easy to do cardigan to go with it and this one seems easy enough. I am in the US and am left handed.
