Did you guys enjoy us talking a little more candid in this video?
Dont forget to like the video and subscribe if you enjoyed it!
Honestly makes the video a bit more enjoyable to watch in my opinion
I agree, it makes the video more interesting. BTW My dad used to deliver fresh milk door to door. But this one is defiantly a keeper. A small block 340, a disk brake conversion, and a nice paint job (all within DYIer's capabilities) you have a very nice show car.
Thats a sweet looking ride. It woule be a great car to just switch out with a Chevy drivetrain and freshen up the interior. Slap on a fresh paint job and call her done. With it being a 4 door i dont see her ever being a rat rod but anything possible. This is kind of the car i would love to find somewhere and redo as a project with my 12 year old daughter.
Keep up the great work and content.
@WD detailing the seats are still in one piece after 80 years! That’s remarkable.
very awsome vides i absolutely love these old cars especially the old plymouths some of the best looking cars from th 1940's ❤
As a 78 year old I have ridden in plenty of these old cars. Fond memories of going to the lake in the fifties and 60's.
that sounds really nice!
🤓
@@themoldeater was that really necessary?
@@ChryslerBLOX hes just a kid, doesnt know any better
Just personally, I liked that your channel didn't usually include talking unless it was useful, unlike some of the other detailing channels. I listen to people all day and the quietness of your videos is always so relaxing. But do whatever you think will be best for the channel!
I like some of the talking but yes I wished the milkman still delivered fresh milk. I grew up seeing the empty milk jar by the front door.
Totally agree Sean, I'm not interested in the chatter, just the before and after, and all the cleaning inbetween, with a few product tips along the way. Other than that, a great video.
I love these old cars
It's good to hear the two of you chatting .it's authentic which I like
Keep up the good work
This car is worth saving. It's a beautiful car. The thing is, with older cars they have a lot of character to them. Unlike today's cars that are built off a factory line. It may cost a bit to get back on the road but definitely worth it!
That what i say "old cars have character" right on!
Yes we enjoy your amazing convo betwen takes, it shows us your character and likeness. Love u guys
Glad to know :)
Save, save, save, for sure! Restore preferably but a Rat Rod would also rock. I’m 77 and remember these bad boys on the road. Awesome 👏
I’m surprised that so many people my grandpas age watch RUclips. Probably because he is still in 2014. He just figured out his smart TV. But he’s a genius for his age he restores old radios and stuff. My grandpa is definitely my best friend.
This car is DEFINITELY worth saving!
This car deserves a frame off restoration ❤️ 🙏🏼
I doubt the seats had foam in this vintage Plymouth! I enjoy your banter as you explored this great old car. People put a lot of bucks into the restoration of these vintage cars. Vermont Auto Enthusiasts has it show every August and the thousands of dollars that go into restoration is phenomenal. It is all in the "beauty of the beholder" when it comes to the love and devotion for these cars.
Definitely save this
This 41 Plymouth is one year newer than my grandfather's first new car. When he bought it Canada was already in World War II, and new cars sales were being suspended. When he saw a Plymouth in the dealership, he bought it there and then, and continued on to visit his in-laws. These are great cars, so I really hope someone restores it, or at least does reversible upgrades.
These barn find videos are amazing! I would love to see more of these. 🔥
We'll keep em coming as long as we can!
AMAZING transformation! Get that car restored!
I watched this video earlier today, great video, thank you for recording this and uploading it.
So, I think it's totally worth salvaging. I think being in storage for so long totally helped save it.
This is totally a '41 Plymouth. I remember these from when I was a child, very cool starting point.
Assuming the the engine is free and not stuck and the transmission is free and not stuck, replace the braking system, ignition system, electrical, engine system, etc, probably looking at several thousands of dollars not to mention a full resto of the interior.
Final thoughts, a person with time, financial resources, and equipment to restore this vehicle to its former glory is a prime candidate to buy this vehicle and bring it back to its former glory.
Please don't rat rod it, hack it up, paint it purple with orange accents and drop in a small block and after market buckets and some ridiculous modifications and call it good, sorry, kinda long winded but you do have an excellent example of American automotive history and definitely worth restoring to its original glory.
Thank you for this video, awesome work as always.
shut the fuck up nigga keep to urself no one readin allat🤣🤣🤣
Definitely no rat rod I wanna see a factory restoration to make it back to its original beauty.
Love the relaxing time talking about the car while doing the detail
I like the convo
I think it us a saver beautifull car
Every car is worth saving
Save, restore, rescue and put it back on the road, keep the classics rolling
haha keep talking its actually really entertaining , you guys do really good work !!!
😄
That car is absolutely worth saving! I would say that a full frame off restoration is probably somewhere within the $8k-$10k range. Possibly less if it's not horribly rusted! Another RUclipsr who I follow named Kyle Lindsey (aka. SaabKyle04) knows these cars pretty well as his late grandfather had a super deluxe at one point, and Kyle actually many years later bought one just like it and he still owns it today.
you would be very wrong, more like $25-$30K .
@@mikestbird these days anything is possible!
@@mds2465 True , I'm restoring a 63 tbird and j just spend $3300 to have the transmission rebuild and the power steering box worked on. Last year I had the body striped and painted for a little over $9000 and you don't even want to know how much it cost to re chrome the bumpers LOL!!. It adds up real fast.
@@mikestbird oh absolutely I believe it. My aunts in-laws had a 1968 Tbird and it sat around for a number of years both indoors and outdoors and as such it got exposed to the brutal Canadian winters. The car was actually purchased in the US and it lived in Canada basically all of its life. But long story short, one day my uncle was going to look into restoring the car but once he found out how much it was going to cost they ultimately got rid of the car.
I saw the bare metal floor when they ripped up the carpet it’s solid
I like the back and forth between you guys. Would make a nice project car for a “MOPAR” guy.
I love old school Plymouth
YESS, back with another legendary video, I can't wait to see all your future plans, and other legendary cars.
Definitely worth saving!,
That beautiful car definitely looks like it can be re-conditioned. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome video and love the talking
RJ you my good sir are big pimpin. Love this videos man.
I love this car. Thanks for sharing it with us!
I like the behind the scenes commentary. It reminds me of myself and my coworkers when we are at a site and our conversations. It helps that I like you guys and your content. Keep up the good work guys
We're going to start recording more of it :)
What a Amasing car…. Love it 🥰
I like what you guys are talking about
With how good you got those tires looking, I would definitely take those off and get new ones so I don’t ruin the old ones.
Survivor car. Yes, it’s worth saving.
Nice job as always !
I'm from Brazil and I really like the way your videos are made. brings a lot of details about the cars and they really do an excellent job. congratulations for the videos.
I love the talking, love it way better than the music ♡♡
Job well done!!
Enjoy the chit chat! 😊
I have a sneaking suspicion that the car might have been a World War 2 staff car They used lots of Plymouths for that purpose. That dull paint job is a pretty good hint.
It is worth fixing up and worth keeping
Saving
Save it
Yay no more roasting!
these are the best types of videos. ones with very unique cars. it would be great to see you guys do at least some restorative steps to all the decommissioned cars you show here. ray is a good guy, but he does not have the youtube personality you guys are blessed with. definitely more videos like this. if only you did some restoring along with the detailing. there may be a future if you want it.
Este automóvil merece una nueva oportunidad y volver a ver las calles!!
Yes the car is worth bringing back to life
Absolutely worth saving. I’d get it back in shape mechanically and keep it as a daily driver/parts runner.
I’ve owned a couple older Plymouths, fine just as they are.
Comments you make are funny! Leave them in!
Yes leave the conversation in please
YES, Definitely a "keykeeper" to restore! This would be a great re-do! Cost= $10000 or less.
Not many like this around I'd save it 1941 Plymouth
My jaw literally dropped when the car turned to its original color. It was like magic
I would love to drive an old car like this one
Yes, I think it is worth saving. The body is straight and not rusted out. It would take about $12,000 to $15,000 to get her road ready, assuming you want to restore the interior.
A1 work as always and good to see ya again today you looked different with the hat lol 😂 my bad and the car looks amazing I wouldn’t even tell anyone it’s a wrap it’s that good of quality perfect color chosen
Hey guys hello there. If you're into detailing cars. You must know what a Bar's Clay is. It's like Play-Doh you we used to play with when we're younger. Bars play run across it will take a lot of the rust and kind of refreshing the paint
The back chairs is like a house sofa
Save it!! Make it mechanically sound, and restore it to showroom condition, its going to take an amazing amount of hard work, but this is a part of motor vehicle history! 👍🇬🇧
I say It's a keeper for restoration.
WD why do I have to like video too lol I watch your content does that count
Beautyfull Plymouth!!!
The only proper paint on this would be a couple of layers of Clear Coat to preserve the Patina !!!
Well done Detailing it sofar :D
BEAUTIFUL*
Dude. If you don't save this baby, it's sacrilegious.
My dad's first car was a new '40 coupe. He sold it when he was drafted in WW2. The video shows the Plymouth is very solid & most body panels are intact which in itself is a huge plus. Tough to say how much it would cost to restore to new. A used Mopar slant 6 or 318 V8 driveline with new wiring, 12-volt system, suspension & paint to make it driver quality could be done for under 15K. 4 doors just don't bring in the big bucks but worth saving to cruise in. Get it running and safe to drive and see how it plays out. You won't lose $ on it in case you want to sell it. Same for the DeSoto.
Haha you guys should totally deliver milk to your customers!!😝 The WD can then stand for "WOW, Dairy and Detailing!!😝💯 Jokes aside cool video and great job as Always!🔥💪 Would be cool to see it painted and displayed somewhere museum style!😎
I think it would be a great pity not to restore this car.
I would love to buy and repair it 👍🏾
The best thing for cleaning whitewalls: SOS pads.
Hi sir, is it me ,but I didn,t see the final result on that plymouth.....before and after.... keep the good work from a subscriber in canada.
As a historical car yes it needs work to restore it .its not that bad you can restore it some 1 would buy it .its worth saving
It's worth it to those who restore these cars
Brillo pads work best for rims and especially whitewalls...
I’ll have a good one for ya soon back on finding winter I’ll keep ya busy
Haha good to see you today! We hope so! Gotta top the Sterling 👀
@@WDDetailing I’ll do that most definitely soon as I find the one I’ll grab it just been dry finding anything worth a darn
Needs it all but has very good bones. I vote taking it back to stock with as many of the original pieces as possible. That interior is way come-back-able, and the whole car could end up being a well-patina'd survivor. Won't be long before it's a century old!
You should give us a story time on that wicked scar. I’ve been watching for awhile and just noticed it
All this vehicle needs is a fully redone engine, transmission, rear end. brakes/suspension/steering/tires, and a coat of wax on what’s left of the paint, and she’ll be a smooth cruiser
This is just for museum or any kind of advertising not going back to the road
This reminds me of my parents car when I was a small child. Riding in the back seat was great due to it being elevated so we could see out the front windshield.
Is it rare or sought after? It's in pretty good condition for restoration. But hot rodding would be cool as well. What is the value - as is?
This cool old ride needs to be saved! Hemi Crate engine anybody? Totally more than parts.
Lincoln Continental 61-68 has the same type of doors , but HT
Omg
I believe you coped out on showing what you can do detailing . this was just a car wash.
To make it road worthy all depends upon its bones/chassis and engine. If the chassis is beyond saving, then it's a parts car - if you can save it - what will it cost, and is it worth it? The interior fully done would cost $7 to $10 grand including the dash - a paint job easily would be 10K -including all new weather seals and other rubber parts. Consider everything on this car (1939) Plymouth - wiring, engine overhaul, transmission overhaul, rear end overhaul, springs, shocks, brakes, drums, gas tank, brake lines, radiator, heater core, hoses, vacuum wipers, gauges, lamps, lights, battery, coil, windshield washer system, steering wheel remolded, knobs, wheels, tires, bumpers re-chromed, accent trimmings found, hood emblem, hub caps, beauty rings, and most likely new sheet metal for the trunk and floors, possibly all-new glass too - you've got 50 K or more into a 1939 Plymouth four-door super deluxe! Would that car recoup that money if sold? NO, it wouldn't!
7 to 10 grand for a complete interior? Someone's taken you for a ride love because that's way over priced,
You have no idea when it comes too cars, clearly
Worth saving. They don't make good steel cars like that one.
It's definitely with saving if it structurally sound, most classic car lovers like to take them back to the frame then work from the ground up, for the record there is still milk men that bring milk to your door here in the UK 🇬🇧
It’s funny. I would love to have that car. But back in the 40s that was the status equivalent of a Kia Rio. They were throw away cars for people without much money. And it’s amazing to me just how many survived.
That’s a 41- either a P11 or P12 model, depending on trim.
I'm a little skeptical the car was siting for 70 years and shows a painted black grill which is quite popular today. However, back then they did black out moonshine runners.
नमस्ते 🙏
Ojalá y me toque una chamba así pero carros antiguos. Lavarlos y aspirarlos y limpiar los acietos y lavarlos
#AMMO NYC
I think it would be worth fixing I just get it running and just drive it
It's not foam. Its cotton batting and burlap.
Leave the banter in unless its not for children (PM me those!) I think the car should be restored as there seems to be more to it than the DeSoto which I thought should be saved too! I like the doors too.
Any tips for removing fine scratches from windshield? They're just from using the wipers for 230k+ miles. Polishing compound alone wouldnt remove them but I don't want to use a more abrasive compound without instruction.
Weird tip but have you tried toothpaste? Colgate I find works best for light scratches, you mix some paste with a little water (not runny) put on a layer over the scratches, leave it for 20-30mins then buff out, WD-40 works the same too
Parts are available, probably make it drivable for under $2,000. If you can do the labor yourself.
Full size Lincoln Continentals had suicide doors into the Sixties/Seventies.
