For those wondering if this sled would overheat? In all our day riding, it never happened even on road and we don't have a set of scratcher on the machine yet. And it say between 3 and 4 on the cluster.
these little 600efi motors at 85 hp are overachievers !! i have a 2021 expedition sport and i cant get over how powerful it really is no shit. 85 mph no problem 154 inch track think about it 13 ft of track 85hp and 85mph , mind blowing!! its all in he clutching ! mine engages at 2400 rpm. very impressed .. i highly recommend!!
the BC Sport climb on snow very easily. Lack the power to wheelies on flat ground, but once we pin it, it will climb slope. I'm very impress so far! Your expedition sport is a great value, this would be my go to for family sled.
Very anxious to see next winter, I’m waiting for a 600 EFI Skandic WT 20” . Mostly for hauling and some work and trail breaking, this engine looks like it will be just fine
I liked it a lot, got a friend with a Skandic sport and he like it. Look at sled den video on RUclips one of their guide put a expedition extreme track on one and was riding the trees. It was amazing.
Just put my deposit on an in stock Backcountry 600 EFI with 2" track! I was looking for a snowmobile to share with my 11 year old son who weighs 150 lbs. I wanted a Blast mountain 400cc but this was cheaper, more power, and only 40 lbs more. He drives my dad's expedition sport 900ace, that's 580 lbs dry. This Backcountry is around 440 lbs, so 140 lbs lighter! 12,750$ for a brand new sled (plus taxes). If my buddies with mountain sleds go first, I'm sure I will be able to follow!
This is a little crawler it go very far, crazy far if driven smart and tuned. This is a great purchase! I loved it on 1.6 and on 2 inches it was very good. The motor as plenty of power to turn that track. We rode it pretty deep and this machine was very impressive. Since it is 2 stroke if you get stuck, you can flip it upside down.
@TerraTrax good for you! It was feeling like running an anchor for me. It do float but the turning with the ultra low steering post made it uncomfortable.
Hi Pierre, nice sled. Great video, no music , only the sweet sound of a 2 stroke sled. Does this machine come with a backup recoil starter from the factory?
Compared to the Expedition Sport 900 ACE the Backcountry Sport 600 EFI is 50 lbs. lighter. Compare the EFI 600 vs 900 ACE engines. The Backcountry Sport sure looked more manageable breaking trail than the heavier Expedition Sport. It looks like you had no problem in the deep snow.
Hi Bob, the backcountry feel more nimble due to his shorter track and light weight. It sure climb good on the snow. When it get really deep and steep I m not ready to say that the expedition was less good. This one is way funnier to get un stuck since you can simply flip it. As per power the 900 ace has more torque and was raising the ski higher when pinned. Overall this is playful machine. But an expedition 600 efi with the seat rest removed would be too. Thanks for watching.
@@PierresAdventures I have been looking at both models for my wife. The pricing on Sport Expedition vs Sport Backcountry is interesting. For $150 more than the Backcountry, the Sport Expedition gives you a detachable 2 up seat + higher windshield + longer track + rear tow hitch bumper.
1.6 inch. A buddy of mine got a 2 incher and this thing pop the ski very nicely on any decent hill. For the trail, it is good, less on a rail than a renegade but it handle well the pilot ds may get Darty sometimes, if you plan on doing a lot of trail getting some good snow tracker may be interesting. Otherwise it is just of matter of tuning the rear skid to your riding style. I would recommend it without hesitation.
Thanks for the video, I am really interested in that engine but being 250lbs I’m wondering on the power. I’m curious if when your going up the hill did you have it pinned to the bar?
I m 205-210. Yes it was pinned for the whole 30 seconds of the ascension. It as less power than the 600 carb or etec. But it still feel very potent. It is light and climb on top.
@@PierresAdventures Thanks for the insights, yea I think I’ll just have to see about finding a demo day or renting one to really see how it is. I really like the simplicity of that engine just a matter if it’s peppy enough for me.
@TerraTrax yea as much as I like that engine design I feel for a crossover for myself it is probably a bit under powered. I got really used to a low mileage 2004 xc 700 and I think that has about 120-125 hp. But it’s still worth a test drive. Thanks for the post
so far, i don't have scratcher, i ran it a lot on road to gain access to the backcountry, it never went over 4 bar in heat on the cluster. Are both of your sled doing so?
@Ferox Nomad i can’t argue with that. The enfin did a fantastic job in the bc. Next year a good buddy of mine will have a 22 with 2 inches paddles we will see if we get issues with more track load. On my end this thing as always been responsive and was run hard often. I got heat in hit on one occasion.
My 900 ace Expedition sport was poping ski a bit more out of the snow, but was also trenching a bit more. On trail, this one is fast. Of trail once it is on top, i think the BC with the 600 climb and carve better. Take off on deep snow, i m not ready to say that the 900 lose.
Depends of too many things. This one is at the end of the breaking period. The cluster said 21L per 100km last time I checked. I didn’t do trail out of the mountain entry
You made me curious... i went out in the cold and the wind. The cluster say 22.2 after this run. With 36 L capacity : it would go 160 km in my condition. On the trail i would say it is very possible to do 200-240 km if you manage your speed.
For those wondering if this sled would overheat? In all our day riding, it never happened even on road and we don't have a set of scratcher on the machine yet. And it say between 3 and 4 on the cluster.
Driving in deep snow helps eh 👌but ur temp gauge will have 3 bars driving in deep snow and 4 bars in packed trail
@@sinclairnorth5870 i got it to five after 30 minutes of road side on my last run it was starving for snow. No overheat but it needed it.

Loving that old VK540.
Different purpose sled but around the cabin they are reliable and useful.

Hi, electric start is the only available option on 600 Efi.
Thank you for video, great job. What size lug on the Backcountry. I see you can get it with 2 inch?
146x16 with 1.6 lug. One of my good friends got a 2 inches one this season. I m curious to see the difference.
Thanks again for the awesome Video, can you tell us how deep the snow was in Feet? thank you! Charlie
