- Tried my luck using live Cichlids in the Everglades. Slow trolling them around points in the Mangroves for a mixed bag worked for a few bites including my personal best snook!

If anyone is interested in the floating blue bait bucket it is a Florida made product available here - baitshark.com/?aff=3
Lol fantastic bait bucket and made just down the road from me!
I have been wondering and just never asked! Thank you
looks helpful!
Yeah that caught my eye. Ordered the 5 qt. to try with bunker. Thx for the link.
@@theshadowbehindyou9631 If you are in the area stop by and see them being made.
I held my breath as you revived the snook. Kept expecting a gator to jump up for a snack!
"EliasVFishing uploaded" has to be my favorite notification to get. Keep up the great work!
*looks curiously at cichlid aquarium across the room*
Cichlids look back in pure fright
Elias, Show us your Giants! Great Snook! Wow that's a big one.
Prayers sent for Meg, Elias. God bless
The adrenaline! I got almost as jacked up as you 😂. Absolutely unbelievable boat control! I don't think I could have landed that fish standing on terra firma. Amazing!! Thanks Elias
Dude... when it first hit I thought it was a tarpon. Huge snook! How you prevented it from getting off in the mangroves is beyond me but shows just how good you really are with that drag adjustment. Bravo
me too! I thought it was a tarpon at first
Lol I screamed out loud when you lost the first one like it was me fishing
"you can't go there" haha nice job, intense fight, congrats
Big snook are SOOO SPECIAL ! Have to be geared up for battle, I can not tell you how many I have lost. Right time, right tackle and know how to land the monsters. Awesome job as usual.
Mayan cichlid. Nice panfish. Very tasty. You can catch tilapia on tiny grass shrimp.
A PB video!!!🤟💪👊. Good stuff my man!!! What a stud!! He was thick!!
Nice fish! Just a little advice from a true Floridian, wear closed toed shoes. If something goes south and you need to walk or swim, the flip flops can be life threatening, ie... unsure footing, severe cuts on feet, toes, and hands when you fall. After 65 years of fishing the entire state of Florida, I cantaloupe you from experience, if it hasn’t happen yet it will. Nice video!
When you know you have a "PB"-- adrenaline dump!! Awesome landing that in the tight water Elias.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video! The everglades is a very special place, again thanks for sharing your techniques in such a beautiful place.
Best video yet! Love the live bait fishing and hearing you out of breath.
What a s tier fish snook are. Watching you fighting those fish was super entertaining 😂
Might be one of my favorite videos you’ve done yet. The last one with the goliaths on chatter baits was bad ass too
I wish I could hit the "thumbs up" multiple times.
*Oh Yeah...She Be A Lunker... Hell Yes I enjoyed this Video... My Favorite of all fish to catch... Nice one Elias!* ..gw
That fight with the Snook looked intense. Great catch.
Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnows will catch everything in FL just about. I use them for snook, redfish and trout but they will catch just about any predatory fish down here.
Also be careful what you use for live bait in the rivers as there are different rules and regulations. For instance you cannot use a game fish for a bait fish down here, so bream or sunfish are off limits though bass and snook feed on them heavily in the fresher water areas.
As for using cichlids, great idea and one I never really thought of, but given they are an invasive the more removed the better and if you can catch some nice snook in the process, hey...👍👊
You can use bream and sunfish for bait. Only if they are caught on hook and line with no cast net on board.
Thanks, man. Lots of fun. Keep it going.
Nice vid Elias, that Snook was definitely a quality fish, I always enjoy your vids...🤙🏼🤙🏼
Heck of a Snook there, Elias. Can't wait till N.C. fishing weather improves.
Hey man great catch this it was a 40 inch snook and takes people all there life to catch one congratulations
Not a 40 but a good one.
Elias,
I have my Pro Angler 14 coming in the next three weeks. And hope to see you on the water around Wrightsville soon. I have to say thanks for your videos. Because I have actually been using them as study guides. Along with a lot of other research of course.
It’s so funny to hear the reaction in your voice about gators. But have no problem being in deeper water with sharks.
Take care and be safe making your way home.
Nothing better than snook in close quarters IMO. Awesome video man and I know the heartbreak feeling all too well. Tight lines and them gators won't mess with ya.
Nice work keeping that snook out of the mangroves!
The cichlids are are GREAT eating fish. Get some that are filleting size and and man oh man. They’re invasive and you’re encouraged to keep all you catch. I know we fill coolers full of em when we get the chance.
Most Native Floridians (Like Myself) 2 Favorite Great Eating Fish,, Snook & Grouper..I Also Make A Pretty Mean Cajun Redfish Courtbouillon.
Amazing fight on that PB Snook. Yeah Man👊
loved the vid - But was nervous that as you were releasing that trophy snook. a gator could possibly come up and grab it from that darker water underneath. Stay safe
Really beautiful fish! Congratulations on the PB Snook.
Well worth the effort ... quite a catch.
Snook and tarpon love eating those Mayan Cichlids.
Awesome fish, dude! Bummer losing the others, but that one was well worth the vid!
Great work Elias
I would love to see you come back down here when the tarpon migration is in full swing!
What a toad ! Good job man !!👍🏻👊🏻
Sick snook fight
Hey I live where you are fishing, tons of tarpon in those canals. My house is on the water just past the boat launch on HWC
Loved that Snook fight. Best you have had in awhile.
Such a sick snook! Awesome job man. I know you don’t fish for them often, but it’s so cool to watch you land a big one!
Big baits = big fish. Very nice and well played.
Snook candy aha. Nice man!
I went to Everglades national park and at the visitor center there was a pond and marsh and basically all the fish are invaders except the largemouths. Looks like there is enough food for everyone down there
That was fun to watch Elias. Congrats on your PB Snook.
Loved it. Great action!
Nice snook, I remember all those catch & cooks in your earlier videos, used to love them!!
Elias V the 🐐
Nice PB snook. Congrats 🙌
Your going to get addicted to snook fishing now! My biggest was 50 inches..
@7:25 🔥🔥🔥
Man what a monster Snook! Almost didn't think you were going to land him! Insane fight 👊 🎣
the suspense watching that line with a big bait on the end. waiting for a monster to start ripping line
That snook was beautiful! Great Anglin out the gate. My man 💪😎
Thank you
Love this, searching for monsters 👹!
Thank you! Great content, great action!
Quality fish, quality video
hay hay... Elias 2 fridays back I was catching Chchlids, Oscars, and Peacock bass. Also large mouth here and there. Had a great time. Woah, look at that Snook. He is a real beauty. So nice... Did you even measure it? I wasn't using them as bait, just catch and release. I was really going for Peacocks. We caught quite a few.
Didn't measure. I'm less inclined to leave fish out of the water for YT and Instagram shots lately. Have 36" marked on the kayak and laid it next to that and it was a bit over so I'll guess around 37"/38"
I don't know what I missed the first time but was way more impressed this time.@@EliasVFishing what a strike
E, thought you had a poon when he almost jumped in your yak ! 😂 😂 😂 Great catch !
Have bought two bait sharks for the yaks since subbing.... great investment 👌
Awesome adventure
Nice fight on those!
Wow that was a toad backwater snook!!
Attaboy 💯
Just awesome snook my man. Great video. Gotta love that live bait. Great video
Incredible, Elias!!! Wow...
Congrats on the PB! That snook was a monster
Gators aren't a problem, it the saltwater crocs that will eat you...LOL!
Dude... that was an epic catch brother
Congratulations on 100 K
Nice snook!!!
thinking of live baits, the kayak I got the guy installed a live well. I'm in the process of down some cosmetic work to it but it works.
Awesome fish dude. Thought it might be a tarpon at first. You'll probably slam them on artificials, I got mine on little 4" Zmans when I was there. It's surprising that there is no stocking program for those fish seeing as they're so highly pursued and the slot is so narrow.
Nice vid. Great to see you still uploading
Love the big snook catch!
Great job, nice change of pace
"You can't go there"...drags kayak across the Everglades....(very nice Snook - I recently hooked a very nice 44" to 48" in the surf on Sanibel and he broke my 30# leader ) Drag too tight 🥲
Nice Job on Mr. Snooky and 100k! Woot!
“Don’t try that ish with me!!” - Elias V
Try a rebel jumping minnow or zara spook in bone or silver. Early in the day.
That is my preferred bait for giant snook biggest so far is 51 inch
Congrats on your PB Snook...High 5ssssssss!!!
super sick video
EliasVFishing I loved that fishing!! I have fished for snook in a river full of sunken trees, underwater structure for 12 years, let me give one one helpful advide, don't tight too much your drag, snook mouth lips are soft so your are breaking the fish lips and that is why the hook was pulled too many times
Some of those cichlids can be worth be money for freshwater tanks
Awesome 🎣
That was so sick🤙
Great content
The thought of being in a alligator area on a small kayak in murky brown water is a big no no for me.
miss you fishing New York waters
Robalo!
Awesome fights!
Nice video brother keep it up!
That fight was ridic...
Oh My God!!!
Almost reminds me of snag and drop in Jamaica Bay but stripers don’t jump
