Received mine the other day, and that canopy piece was terribly scratched up. Good old LEGO immediately shipped me a replacement though - but definitely notice more and more pieces that are scratched, damaged or deformed slightly.
Had the same problem with the Aston Martin Valkyrie. The windscreens part was scratched right down the printing into the front windscreen. Suggested to them that they separated and bagged windscreen parts. Sad to see they haven’t listened
@@Jedi_Bob_Studios scratched windscreens aren't quality issue it's a "lack of putting protective tape over large easily scratchable clear pieces" or "not putting large clear pieces in their own bags to avoid other pieces scratching it" issue
IMMEDIATELY after the video started and seeing it built, I like it so much more. I really like how everything behind the cockpick comes together. I feel like it'll go on sale for 30/25 after a while and I'll for sure pick it up then. Great review as always!!
Agreed. I can’t really find anything wrong with this set, but the subject matter/source material is just a little uninteresting. At least it’s not grossly overpriced.
Glad to see that it wasnt just me who had a spare ingot piece. Well, I do apreciate this. Sometimes Lego adds uncommon parts as spare, which ususaly are too big. Imho even the 1x2 rounded tile is too big for a spare, but hey, i dont complain about it. And well, after the latest UCS Y-Wing we can expect anything. In that set, you had a whole lot of weird spares.
I love the shape of this thing! It looks more like an anti-grav racing vehicle than an air-/spacecraft (but I don't know the source material, maybe it is supposed to just hover). If it were more colorful it would fit right into a game like WipEout or Fast RMX! Also I'm not yet sure how big a fan I am of the new "trans-dark bluish gray" windscreen color. Is it known whether it will replace the old "trans-dark brown" or coexist alongside it?
Glad you addressed the sturdiness of those fixed forward guns :) Was one of the first things I wondered about :) Love the storage, wish little features like that were more common
it is actually kind of a good set, considering how well it could work in star wars. I mean, a small ship, with 2 secret compartments really makes it feel great for smuggling some cargo, by pirates as well.
I do actually like the look of this; again, like the Baby Rocket's Ship, this gives me a vibes of the anti-gravity combat racers from the WipEout video games. Due to the shaping, the cockpit canopy and the front cannons Unfortunately, like Baby Rocket's Ship, this is definitely a bit too costly; I'm kinda reminded of the 70638: Katana V11 from Ninjago which we got five years ago, priced at decent £15 at the time (it'd be £18 today which is still pretty good) and is similarly sized to this Snub Fighter (without including the thin overhangs). By that logic, I'd pick this up for a third off at £20, the same as the Speed Champions cars as you briefly mentioned; I'm not interested in the show to justify paying full price but I like the look of this craft.
Please be OutSpokenly disappointed with the Fang Fighter's severe lack of articulation. WAY too many people are careless about that VERY horribly designed 1/2 of the set. The inaccuracy destroyed all my UnCommly high amount of hype for the set I most anticipated for Star Wars. This has me hesitant to want LEGO to do a larger GauntletTransport, now.
This set is as bland as white bread. The shaping along the sides is nice and the engine details are visually interesting but this set is mediocre, no worse or better than the set. However, this should be a $20 set no matter wait and that's something people should vote with their wallets to fight. It's the licenced equivalent of a great vehicles set but more densely built, I just cannot see how anybody could buy this for such a premium price given how generic it looks. Mega is quite expensive but I can see the premium nature with the figures such as the lord hood figure in the new elephant. Too bad you have to jump through hoops to buy mega outside of USA.
I like this set more than I thought I would. I really love how sleek the canopy is, and the two storage compartments are nice to have. Also getting more alien species in Star Wars is always good. I'll make sure to grab this one eventually
The thing I don't like about it. Is it looks like it belongs in the same family as the Tri-wing. That starfighter that was desinged by Porsche. It was the most un-Star Wars looking ship I've ever seen.
I want to get this one for the parts, I really like the canopy piece. Snub fighters just aren’t the most interesting ships and the minifigures aren’t any interesting characters either… but the parts would make for really cool custom ships
In book printing we call the colors Warm Gray(the brownish one) and Cool Gray(the Blueish one). Maybe that's a better way to describe the color. Great video as always.
Yep I come from a graphic design background myself, but in the LEGO world specifically the exact titles "Light Bluish Gray" and "Dark Bluish Gray" are the ones adopted by the community since 2003 when the company replaced their original two grays with the cooler, literally more bluish tones. The main worldwide aftermarket source of LEGO parts, Bricklink.com, has always used this terminology as well. LEGO itself, on the other hand, internally uses the same language for the discontinued old warm grays and the new, simply saying "medium stone grey" and "dark stone grey" with the 'e' spelling.
Same here, went through the instructions manual a few (maybe several) times to see if I had missed it somewhere, even checked the parts list at the back and it was only 9 used total, so that 10th is a spare/mistake “a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one” (I hope I got that line right)
the design is bland and not anything iconic… the build looks nice, but it would’ve been nicer to have this packaged with the N-1, rather than get that Fang Fighter & TIE Interceptor two-set, with those ships sold individually.
This is a pretty great starfighter design and done well in LEGO form. I wish it was in a more rusty brown color like the show, but this isn't bad. I like that canopy piece, reminds me of the one the old space sets used to use. And in that color is very nice. I still don't know what a snub fighter is. And for the longest time I thought the pilot was saying stunt fighter in rebel briefing room. 🤣
Exchange the medium grey bits for blue, and the dark grey for medium grey bits, replace the cockpit canopy with the trans yellow one from the Buzz Lightyear XL-15 set, and the trans orange cones with trans red cones, or small 2x2 round satellite dish bits, replace the black plates and slopes for blue or yellow ones, and the black "weapon" bits for dark grey, or dark steel metallic bits, and don't add any of the stickers and you have a Neo-Classic Space starfighter. So I may have to get one or two of this set to convert into escort fighters for my 90th anniversary LL-298 Galaxy Explorer.
This set is overpriced for what it is, should be around 25$ max. Otherwise I really like the look of this ship, I enjoy it when Lego releases products for more obscure starfighters. Reminds me a lot of set 75024 which is one of my favorite Star Wars sets ever.
Jang, I always appreciate that you show your extra pieces. I've found it helpful more than once including here. I actually had a different similarly sized piece as an extra rather than an ingot.
Thanks for the review! The cockpit glass peace in new colour is nice and all but at this point such builds in dark bluish grey colour look boring to me. It would be amazing if Lego changed their colour policy at least for licensed SW starships. Perhaps some new colour, exclusive for this, and not just those pieces of concrete… But a man can dream, anyway!
I wonder if some people will buy a few just for the piece and sell off the figures? Seems like a good (though maybe more expensive) way to get parts for a young moc maker to make some neo-classic builds if they owned a few transparent green pieces. Or maybe just experiment with new wings.
This reminds me of a Space Police cruiser or something like that... The kid in me wants to get the Buzz Lightyear ship from last year and swoosh these around😂
Something that kind of irks me is that they just introduced this new trans-black color with this set, only to use plain black on the new Darksaber they introduced on the same day.
Before I saw this built up at my local Lego store I didnt understand why it cost $35. Then seeing it in person I was amazed at how big it was, especially for the piece count. I gotta excuse it now honestly, lots of big and unique pieces went into this build and its a solid little fighter
Received mine the other day, and that canopy piece was terribly scratched up. Good old LEGO immediately shipped me a replacement though - but definitely notice more and more pieces that are scratched, damaged or deformed slightly.
I've noticed this with a couple sets in the past year, Legos quality control seems to be slightly lower than it used to be.
Had the same problem with the Aston Martin Valkyrie. The windscreens part was scratched right down the printing into the front windscreen. Suggested to them that they separated and bagged windscreen parts. Sad to see they haven’t listened
Clear pieces should really packaged separately, even if it's just a paper bag within the bigger packets.
@@Jedi_Bob_Studios scratched windscreens aren't quality issue it's a "lack of putting protective tape over large easily scratchable clear pieces" or "not putting large clear pieces in their own bags to avoid other pieces scratching it" issue

costs 40 dollars where i live! 😡😡
😊
Would be cool for lego to make a Pirate battles pack. Lego Star Wars needs more alien, also would be nice to have bad guys other than stromtrooper.
I like it but this is a 25-30$ set, inflation be darned
One of the best SW sets this year, simple but nice, no wasted space on the model. If only the price was a tad bit lower.
Agreed. I can’t really find anything wrong with this set, but the subject matter/source material is just a little uninteresting. At least it’s not grossly overpriced.

I agree with the price being a little high. The snub fighter does look very accurate to the source material though.
I really appreciated the fang fighter/ tie interceptor set not having any stickers. Might build this without them.
I love the shape of this thing! It looks more like an anti-grav racing vehicle than an air-/spacecraft (but I don't know the source material, maybe it is supposed to just hover). If it were more colorful it would fit right into a game like WipEout or Fast RMX!

LEGO Star Wars 2023 8+ 75346 Pirate Snub Fighter Set
Amazon recently dropped them to 22 bucks here in Germany, that's a comfortable price
but 35 is way too much, there really is not much to it
I’m glad to see that it’s better than the marketing made it out to be

Yeah you can find the Obi-Wan Starfighter for about $20-25 pretty easily so this one shouldn't be too hard to get for that in a few months.
I like this set more than I thought I would. I really love how sleek the canopy is, and the two storage compartments are nice to have. Also getting more alien species in Star Wars is always good.

Thx for the review Jang. Average build. Will perhaps buy it on sale for no more than 25€.
Got it with promo Star Wars GWP for $150+ purchase plus double points this weekend to offset the $35 price
The thing I don't like about it. Is it looks like it belongs in the same family as the Tri-wing. That starfighter that was desinged by Porsche. It was the most un-Star Wars looking ship I've ever seen.
Would love to see the pirate king’s Corsair ship to pair with this one.
great pick at a lower price. Lovely build. Star wars pricing is out of the planet compared to other themes.
Good design, great detail, new sweet looking canopy, but the price is not good. I hope it goes on sale for 20% off and then I can pick one up.
I want to get a couple of these, use them as my arms space aircraft
Im glad they replaced trans brown with trans black. Waaay better color scheme

I got the ingot too. Thought I was insane. Thank you for verifying
I'm pleasantly surprised by this set. The top-down shaping of the craft looks neat.
I'm getting that tomorrow it looks really good 👍
I like it. It looks really sleek!
It's pretty much perfect. I love the extra storage space, I like when you can store the minifigs accessories neatly with the build.
Disney cant design spaceships very well
I bought two of these, each for 26 USD
Snub Fighter? Funny name
Might b lil overpriced but i still want the set
It needed an additional minifigure.
I was wondering about the extra ingot piece as well. I thought I had made a mistake too.

It's definitely sturdy mine fell off the wall from a good 6 feet up and barely fell apart. I'm still missing a 2x1 peice though

I really think that this is Lego's best Star Wars set. Figures are lacking, but other than that, it is pretty good. Also first comment.

Good set but a bit too pricey
Once again - these two should have new molded heads instead of normal ones.
Im glad Lego is gone wild with extras in sets nowadays.
Not sure I understand this set. Our local Lego shop has shelves full of it. Are they expecting it to sell a lot?
