I definitely think the design of the set is great. Only downside is the price then you have to look at the set like it was super duper premium with that price jumped. Ponchos for Luke and Leia would go a long way. Like the previous Endor Leia had essentially both her looks in one figure.
Came here to say this. Premium price deserves premium figures. Walking back from soft goods to printed designs as prices also increase is a very bitter pill to swallow.
jokes aside this has quickly become my favorite lego channel, I don't wanna rag on other lego channels too much, but I gotta admit it just feels better watching a review knowing the reviewer paid full price, and also recognizes that legos are first and foremost a kids toy, as much as we all love it it's easy for fans to forget that
I love that you referred to this set as a "tasty slice" of the scene. Buying this set at full price is like getting a decent entre at an expensive restaurant, being content with what you got, and then looking at the receipt total afterwards and just screaming "WHHHAAAATTTT?!?!?!".
It is a gorgeous model, surely. The redwoods are gorgeous! I spent there some time a few years back and loved it there. I think this will be discounted in the future - the Dagobah training set is now 35% off... Patience recommended.
I’m glad you spent a while highlighting the good stuff...price aside this is a really fun product. I’ve always enjoyed building dioramas and Lego making their own makes it more accessible for normal people...of course not as accessible as if the price was much lower like it should be
I refused to buy this due to the price, and instead BrickLinked parts to build just the speederbikes. I can confirm that they look better with longer bars for the front section, and benefit from a trans stand for normal display. But they are otherwise very nicely designed, and the dark tan colour matches the screen version better than brown, and also matches the Kenner toy version I had in the 80s.
I think the only change I’d make on the figures is giving Luke black legs and Leia sand blue legs, with the same poncho print on them. BUT its not super noticeable when they are on the bike as they are intended to be.
I think besides the scout trooper, for an adult display set, the sensor figures are underwhelming. They could have at least spinal molded the boots on the legs.
It would have been nice if lego would have put this set as one of those that you could get several, so you could do a bigger diorama forest chase. At that price, I don't think I am going to get even one.
I'd forgotten the price going into this, I remembered it being overpriced but I had it in my head that is was about $40. Which I still thought was pushing it for 2 trees and 2 speeder bikes. BUT 80?!?! This is a strong contender for the worst value Lego set period
They’re supposed to be a lighter brown? That’s so weird… I’m gonna have to check, out of pure curiosity! This looks really nice, but definitely drop a twenty from the price!
The Endor ones were light brown, as a camouflage for the forest biome they were fighting in. A lot of the other speeders in the universe are grayish or white like the ones we see on Hoth.
The play scale speeder bikes are close to perfection IMHO. The front section probably should be just a bit longer to completely capture the look, beyond that no complaints! It is a nice display piece, probably the nicest of all the ‘22-‘23 Lego SW dioramas. But yes. Price isn’t nice.
It's a very good set but I am not buying it unless I see the price drops during a sale, and if not, probably just won't have this set in my collection...
Fun fact: the movie Captain Fantastic, is actually based on the JANG. Hence his vast knowledge (both about trees and general) and high sense of fairness😊
Maybe bc I’m getting older, but they need to do a better job with similar colors in the directions. Maybe lettering next to it. LG light green? I can’t tell difference more and more.
I bought this one over the throne room diorama simply because adding the executor star destroyer put me right at $150 for all 3 promos. I felt better buying this at retail price since the 2X points for both sets almost got me a $20 coupon. I think both dioramas are little pricy by $10 or so. The throne room I'm a little forgiving to as it included some brand new pieces and minifigs, along with some unique pieces Lego rarely use. The Endor chase is pretty basic when it comes to the pieces though. The design is nice especially those new speeders. I believe princess Leia and Luke are new minifigs too. Also I was pleasently surprised at how large the trees were for this set and how many pieces were needed for them
$50 would be about right $80 is nuts. Especially considering the poor Luke and Liea MiniFigures. It needs a third tree that's thicker and an additional Scout Trooper with a Speederbike to justify $80. I would be ok if it was $60 I could wait for a sale. I like the new Speederbikes
the wampa cave was 45 dollars at the time and had a snow speeder, a wampa cave and a wampa and 4 figs. they’re saying they this is 2 battle pack build is 80. absurd
is lego padding these non-exclusive sets a little at launch to allow for reductions down the line? last year's dioramas had reasonable discounts at retail.
What is nice with the set release here in Australia it retails for $119-$130 depending where you get it target for May 4th had Star Wars sets 20% off so this set I snagged for $95 aud which imo is not bad at all
80 bucks is too much. Also on mine, I yanked off one of the holders for the speeders so the Scout is standing normal because something looked off with how angled both speeders are. On the plus side, now it looks like the second speeder is pulling out from behind trying to cut him off.
here in switzerland seen a few i really want to buy. then see the price. for the cost of this set i got lego technic batmobile and motorbike. im like these got way more in them and also licenced as well. never mind normal lego sw lego is now only on sale would i consider it. which is a shame
The face of the scout trooper looks an awful lot like Han Solo to me! Could that be an intentional Easter Egg to when Han disguises himself to trick the bunker guys into coming outside??
I mean... for $80 I'd rather just get some nice speeder bike MOCs and be done with it. The scout trooper minifig looks great, I love the trees and foliage, but I just can't justify that price
The recent influx of Adult buyers are sending the wrong tolerance towards LEGO as the company is starting to state that everything can just be display pieces and up the cost.
ROTJ is probably my favorite too, but this is outrageously expensive. $50 would be a reasonable SRP, and I'd buy it only with a 20% discount. I've got enough of these prices honestly
I'm a big fan of the diorama sets. $60 is perfect for this. Good news is that this should get a 20% off sale at some point in its lifetime (probably sooner rather than later due to its steep price), which brings this down to $64. I'll buy it at that price. Won't be buying it at full price.
No, $80 for a set as small as that one just because it’s a collectible is absolutely absurd. Yea it looks nice, is it worth $80? No, stop fooling yourself.
@@dactel you know you don’t have to act like a jerk to try to get a point across and if you don’t like the price wait for a sale or clearance that simple
Love lego, love Star Wars, but this line of sets are for the wealthy folk. It’s cool that this set in particular looks good from any side, the speeders can be set nicely, angled, you almost feel their speed. But that price, oh man…😅
I really feel like a broken record these days, but $80 feels like a ripoff. I’d be curious to see an actual spreadsheet assessing value and such, since you’ve pointed out that Lego has ALWAYS been expensive...but it does feel pretty outrageous these days now they’re intentionally making expensive dioramas
I want this diorama to use for showing off some of my D&D figures but it's waaaaay to much. Price to part ratio is bad, trees should have been taller. I'll just make my own using my own parts. I could see LEGO selling this for $70 these days, LEGO is expensive. $80 is way, way, way to much even with their mark ups.
Good review overall but bad take on the figures. Luke should have black arms, more black on the legs, and Leia should have sand blue legs, ideally with dual molded black. They made almost the perfect legs exactly like that with Legolas in Rivendell, no reason why they couldn’t have here. For $80 they should’ve been better, and on top of that they include a blurb in the instructions about how accurate and detailed the figures are when they’re actually very inaccurate. 🤨
i think everything but the speeders and the scout trooper looks rlly bad, it's a very very bad price and it's not even like the executor, where you are at least getting something good
While this is on the pricey side, it has become a total beaten dead horse like you said. Price and value obviously do matter, but it's a real shame that the LSW community tends to solely focus on the flaws that it completely overshadows how good the set itself actually is. Take the Grevious starfighter from 2020 for example: yes that set was very expensive, but the set itself was very very good, the best one we've gotten to date as a matter of fact. I do think it's important for consumers to voice their concerns over prices, but we really need to stop allowing a single flaw/con dictate the entire outlook on the set.
Walking back from soft goods to printed designs as prices also increase is a very bitter pill to swallow.
come for the lego reviews, stay for the surprisingly in depth foliage breakdown
jokes aside this has quickly become my favorite lego channel, I don't wanna rag on other lego channels too much, but I gotta admit it just feels better watching a review knowing the reviewer paid full price, and also recognizes that legos are first and foremost a kids toy, as much as we all love it it's easy for fans to forget that

$50 is pushing it. Seriously the prices really bring down these dioramas.
80 dollars is just disgusting to me.
And the other new set is $100 😬😬
I agree. But, at least it helped me get my lego death star II.
Even if they had included an ewok somewhere in the set, $80 still would've been hard to swallow
Ai. 60-65 would be perfect. 70-75 isn't much better, but It's better than 80. 80 is just unreasonable.
Normally with overpriced sets I roll my eyes and move on but there’s something particularly insulting about this one. Do better, LEGO
I enjoy, even simply listening to you giving your thoughts while I'm working on some boring stuff. Best Lego-related channel for me!
Iconic SW lines:
“I am a Jedi, like my father before me”
“Remember- the force will be with you, always”
“Quick! Jam their commlink- center switch!”
This chase was probably my favorite scene in THE trilogy. I haven't built mine yet so thanks for the insight on the foliage
Luke should have black arms.
And dual molded legs
It is a gorgeous model, surely. The redwoods are gorgeous! I spent there some time a few years back and loved it there. I think this will be discounted in the future - the Dagobah training set is now 35% off... Patience recommended.
Great review as always. Definitely going to wait for a sale as it seems these newer diorama sets are bound to drop $15-20 in their lifetime
I’m glad you spent a while highlighting the good stuff...price aside this is a really fun product. I’ve always enjoyed building dioramas and Lego making their own makes it more accessible for normal people...of course not as accessible as if the price was much lower like it should be
9:20 hey they included the darksaber.
Last night I fell asleep listening to you build one of the ninjago city sets. Very relaxing, thank you.
Hes the Bob Ross of Lego.
agreed!
Nice diorama but for that price no way...
I refused to buy this due to the price, and instead BrickLinked parts to build just the speederbikes. It’s a nice set but $80 is insane, there’s no way to justify the pricing, $60 should be the top end while $50-55 would be optimal price
Ha! I actually bought this last night. I hated paying the 80, but thank god for gift cards.
I think the only change I’d make on the figures is giving Luke black legs and Leia sand blue legs, with the same poncho print on them.
BUT its not super noticeable when they are on the bike as they are intended to be.

2:03
They could have gone with
"BAARRRWWOOMMPP-ZZOOOOOMMMM!"
- Speeder Bike
Thanks for noting the Canadian 🇨🇦 prices on your reviews lately 👍
A set like this is a fine deal for $60 or less. Definitely waiting for a discount on this one.
Awesome review as always, Jang. I am in love with this set. Return of the Jedi is also my favorite of the OG trilogy.
The force is strong with this one.
Thanks for the review Jang!
I'll wait for a sale.
Another person with RoTJ as their favorite? No way!!
Thank you for including CDN prices, too, Jang!
Which redwoods? Lived in Crescent City near both State and national parks. Also, lived in the Santa Cruz mountains
I think the trees are fine and match the framing of the scene. It's a nice set I'd pay $50 for but it's not $50.
If this had an explosion build to give the suggestion of the scout trooper crashing, then this would be well worth the price point.
It would have been nice if lego would have put this set as one of those that you could get several, so you could do a bigger diorama forest chase. At that price, I don't think I am going to get even one.
This and Dagobah probably my favorites of the dioramas.. LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE bringing order to the systems
How different is it from the $50 gray platform from kenobi in terms of parts and size?
I feel like this should be double the length with a couple more trees. The price is ridiculous and the quote is a joke.
Yes I bought this one, also Tales of the space age.
I'd forgotten the price going into this, I remembered it being overpriced but I had it in my head that is was about $40. Which I still thought was pushing it for 2 trees and 2 speeder bikes. BUT 80?!?! This is a strong contender for the worst value Lego set period
Happy to say i picked this up on clearance from Walmart
ROTJ is my favorite movie of all time(with Avatar as a close second). It's good to know ROTJ is at least your favorite SW movie haha

LEGO Star Wars 2023 18+ 75353 Endor Speeder Chase Diorama Set
60 bucks would have been perfect. Day 1 buy. But now I'm here waiting for a sale.

ish it we/"longer," especially being a chase scene... and at $80.
$50 would be about right

Buy 2 sets and it looks a lot lot better, And your chasing 2 biker scouts and you can have a fallen tree as well it looks excellent.
I love the set look it just looks amazing I love it.
This set sells in the Netherlands for 63,99 that seems like a good price to me.
Thank you, I'm happy with my 7128.
Looking at the prices for the sw dioramas the printed 40y anniversary block is worth $20 according to lego.
the wampa cave was 45 dollars at the time and had a snow speeder, a wampa cave and a wampa and 4 figs. they’re saying they this is 2 battle pack build is 80. absurd
Wow no arm printing on an $80 set! The torso printing and heads and leg printing is great but they really should have all had arm printing.
The quote isn't memorable , but I think its cool. I distinctly remember the quote in the movie and it sounds cool
How long did it take to build
I found some sets for $60, That seems about right for the amount of pieces..
This one is the best diorama set of this new wave. So cool!
is lego padding these non-exclusive sets a little at launch to allow for reductions down the line? last year's dioramas had reasonable discounts at retail.

Love the look of these dioramas especially the final duel one but I refuse to vote for these with my wallet unless they are on massive sales
ROTJ is probably my favorite too, but this is outrageously expensive. $50 would be a reasonable SRP, and I'd buy it only with a 20% discount. I've got enough of these prices honestly
Without the fancy black base this would be a £30 set at most.
As someone from NorCal who partially grew up in Santa Cruz I feel like I need this set just for the redwoods
Looking forward to building the set. At least getting double vip points helped a little with the cost.
I think i got a better quote they could've used
"Speeder noises"
I really wish these Dioramas had smaller bases. at eye level it’s hard to see the details
I'm a big fan of the diorama sets. $60 is perfect for this. Good news is that this should get a 20% off sale at some point in its lifetime (probably sooner rather than later due to its steep price), which brings this down to $64.

Ive only seen this in stores for $70
Got it for 78 AUD that's fifty USD absolute miracle
80 is too much. I like the idea of them going through the forest but that tree on the right sucks. I had to move it behind the speeder
Better quote: "Ah !" - Luke Skywalker
I just got it at Walmart and it was $60
$60 would be great for it
Thanks
This set , I feel has been unfairly judged (probably the price) but I really like it.
Great review as always

Love the set, but even with the £70 price being the most favourable of all, its uncomfortably pricey.

Awsome set!!! Very bad price... 😆
i cant believe they added generic dude into the set
The inconsistency with the price…
For $80 they couldn’t even give Luke the proper black arms.
I like all the diorama but they are all too pricey. Especially that new throne room one.
