Where I live this set currently costs more than the Inquisitor Scythe. Which is kinda crazy. But the reason is simple, this set is only sold by TLG at the moment for €80. As soon as 3rd party retailers get it, it should get a more reasonable price. I really like the set.
One thing I really appreciate about the new Star Wars sets is that they often have actual seat or at least points where the figures are supposed to be sitting in contrast to the new atte or this set we can look at the old atte with a bit of interior space but without any indication of where or how many should fit in there
In Norway all of the sets are expensive if you buy from LEGO or physical toy stores. But... we do have a few online shops that sell LEGO for way cheaper. Examples: LEGO Prices: The Justifier - 185$ AT-TE Walker- 175$ Inquisitor Transport Scythe - 128$ Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter - 72$ Hoth AT-ST - 66$ Obi-Wan's Starfighter - 43$ Third Party Online: The Justifier - 145$ AT-TE Walker- 140$ Inquisitor Transport Scythe - 92$ Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter - 54$ Hoth AT-ST - 50$ Obi-Wan's Starfighter - 28$ These are the current prices at release and they usually go down a couple bucks later.
It’s just missing a pair of stormtroopers to go in the seats and it would be a good little set. Heck I’d even prefer to ditch the speeder bike build entirely in exchange for a handful of troops to fill all those empty seats!
I've built it yesterday and fell in love with it, definitely a set where if you like what you see, you will love what you get (paid full price and don't feel ripped off at all). It helps that I'm a sucker for transport ships, so can't wait to compare it with Scytche. :)
70$ is alot but still kinda alright, the 80€ here is kinda rough though ngl. Not getting it unless I find it at a significant discount, even though I like this model alot
I really like the looks of this set, my only issue with this and the Scythe is the use of the Speed Champions canopy. I just can';t unsee it as the car canopy. I also thing it has a mistake on Lego's part not putting some non-unique characters in this. If there had been a few troopwers included it would be something I might buy kmore than one of but in this case one is all I will ever need.
Honestly it's shocking how well scaled and detailed this is. The price seems a little high, but this is such a well designed and complete looking model, it seems almost justified. I think one or two more security troopers would've been good though.
This set is $129 in Australia. Absolute rort for what it is. If this was priced slightly higher than obiwan starfighter the price would have been easier to accept.
We shouldve gotten some of the imperialized clone troopers/early stormtroopers in the set seeing as to how this is supposed to be a troop transport/dropship
I can somewhat explain the immediate discounts here in Finland; many times new Lego sets are sold in big hypermarts (equivalent to Walmart I suppose) and they periodically have events where almost EVERYTHING is -20% or so, meaning that new sets can be acquired for a discount very quickly if luck so has it.
Very true regarding uk prices- with a little shopping around you can usually get a 20% discount on brand new sets here, and after a month or two it’s easy to get 30% off most things, with a few exceptions.
This one really reminds me of a Halo Reach falcon, as a small four-seat transport, and I like that. I'm always a sucker for sets with good use of internal space. Plus, I really like how the cannon on top has action features that actually make it look better, bulking it out in a very nice way. The only thing I'd wish for would be bigger wings.
I was into this day-one, and I’ve been so excited that it’s turned out to be better than people expected! Price is still obviously not perfect, could be improved, but it’s nice to be pleased with the value after being unsure about it for the first few months.
Great shaping on the nose. Could use those techniques to build a moldy crow... Thinking about getting this, widening the cockpit and adding more to the back end, bigger wings etc.
Ahh, Kenner Mini-Rigs - that takes me right back! I really like this kit and will look out for it for sure. Just wish they'd have provided some plates to cover the underside.
80€ is rough but this looks very wholesome. Nice build and I don't even connect to the show in any way. I wish I could say I would get this on discount , but here there are absolutely no discounts on lego 80% of the time.
ActuallyJang, I've seen new sets on discount at release, but only at particular Costco stores. Someone posted a pic of the Inquisitor ship on sale already at Costco for $79.99 I picked up Boba Fetts palace there for $65 not long after release.
Thanks for the review. It’s a good set, very nicely designed, compact transport. But is it 80€ good? Not to me. I actually saw it built at the Lego store, considered it, saw the price and decided against it. And that was on the day I got the « modular » Sanctum Sanctorum (fun build and great set BTW) Amusingly, I feel the Cassian Andor figures that came with Rogue One sets looked more like Diego Luna. This one feels a bit too much like Obi-Wan Kenobi’s cousin or something.
Again, a whole lot of remarks on the price in the comment section, not so much on the engineering or functions they like, just complaining about the price. I think that cannon on the front looks fantastic and such a simple piece too. Reminds me of a A-10 warthog. Those stud shooters on either side of the turret up top is a super nice touch. They're hidden in there well they don't stand out. The design does look a little awkward but I think it's features make up for it
Based on the trailer from last week, this design is accurate to the real chibi-ness of the design, it only fits like two people side to side walking out of the back. It's too bad the back isn't hollow since the trailer shows half a dozen guys walking out of the back. I'm envious of all the people saying they get sets on sale, most things just SELL OUT and I can't get them at all if I dare to wait for prices to drop where I live...
The price of this is certainly a source of contention for the size of this, especially in the UK and Europe. It's awkwardly stuck in a weird position, in that it's a lot more costly than the downscaled but similarly sized or larger X-wing and Slave I, and it's also very dangerously close in price to the much bulkier and larger Inquisitor Scythe. It also costs the same as the Imperial Shuttle too. Tough one cos it does look great and seems a nice space and wallet friendly alternative to the massive costlier Republic Gunship. Just there's a lot of other great sets out there to choose from....
Biggo price question, aren't US prices usually without taxes? I seem to remember that being a thing due to sales tax variation by state and whatnot, at least with other kinds of online purchase. The 80€ (at least in Germany) already includes any and all applicable taxes.
Liked your review as always. To me the ship could be maybe an inch longer, for more room say to put the speeder in. An maybe one or two more Imperal minifig. Sad that the price where I live in Canada, is going to be more like $80-$90 dollars. Plus this set can also go with some of the Rogue One sets too.
I think making the wings a couple of studs wider and longer will be an easy mod. This might improve significantly the overall look of the ship, thus appearing less chibi and closer to the in-universe vehicle.
Seeing the speed champions windshield with side printing makes me wish the Lamborghini Countach piece had the side windows. It's clearly very possible and would have taken very little actual paint for two line.
I've always wanted more medium sized ships from star wars. Maybe a $50 range about this size. The only problem with this set is it's not $50. Then again I haven't held this, maybe it's bigger in person. I haven't been interested in anything Disney has put out lately, so there's nothing going for it in that area. If I had a handful of clone troopers maybe it'd make a good midi sized gunship, but I don't. Because Lego is hella stingy with their canon fodder. At the end of the day, including the speeder it's got seats for 7 figures and we only get three. More stormtroopers.
I’m sorry but I busted out laughing when you showed the bottom of the ship. That is so sad. It looks like I’m just gonna BrickLink the Andor minifigure (it looks pretty solid with the second face) and the cockpit piece. It really does look like a Chibi version of a Republic Gunship though, good call! 😂
Like the ship. But not the price. Will wait for a sale. You are right, the wings need to be longer (sounds like a "small" mod 😂). And where did you get that shirt? Great job once again!
I genuinely thought that this set was selling for 70€ but I was wrong, it's 79,99. I agree with you Jang though, most of the time, we have 10-20% launch discount on sites like amazon (for instance I got the ATTE for 125€ the other day and the mandalorian N1 at release for 49 or even the newest jedi starfighter for 25 instead of 35 but that's not constant and prices move around quite a bit. I couldn't find some sets with discounts prices (justifier and inquisitor transport) and some simply can't be found anywhere since the release date (the clone battle tanks with purple clones is nowhere to be found). Keep up the good work, I like your honesty and the way you think about all the potential users of the set. That's a great way to understand what's packed in every set and to consider if the price is worth it or not with extra grains of salt.
i didnt really want this set until i watched the show and i was luckily able to get ten dollars off from my vip points so im really excited about getting this set 😁
Built it today. Had to pay 80 euro's at the Lego store. Havent seen it in other shops, so no discounts or on sale. Lego does this more often at least in the Netherlands, but probably in other European countries as well: making stuff exclusive for official Lego stores. Well the good news is: the building process was very satisfying. Very solid, quite heavy, and smart technics. Very easy to comply, but that didnt bother me. The speeder also nice to build. Now having build it, I do understand the 70 dollars. You really have to see the speeder and ship together as 1 one set and do the math: speeder worth 15 dollars, ship 55, so that is 70. All fine with me. An extra minifig would make it better though. But 80 euro's (tax included) is too much. Even with an extra minifig. There are not that many expensive parts and it is a small ship. Do I regret buying it? Not sure yet. Like I said: I did love buying it and maybe when seeing it in the show I like it even more. Ow btw, I added for stromtroopers to put in the ship. time will tell if I did that right.
Apart from Cad Bane's Justifier, I have to admit - LEGO Star Wars team did an amazing job in designing this year's wave of transports (both aerial and land). Finally small ships have some transport capabilities and large vehicles have a ton of useable space inside. Well done LEGO, keep it up!
Maybe I'm crazy, but I thought this looked more like a 30 to 40 dollar set in price. I see it is bigger than I thought when you hold it in front of you, but 70 still feels high. It seems good for what it is. Yeah that figure does NOT look like Cassian. The alternate face is a little bit better. Oh, and awesome Octan T-shirt haha.
Now that the show has premiered, I find it hilarious that this accommodates the troopers better than the actual ship 😂
I like how everything comes together, but it does look awfully small for the price
Agreed, I feel like, at max, around 45 would’ve been better
Amazing interior, if only LEGO did this for most starwars ships.
Where I live this set currently costs more than the Inquisitor Scythe. Which is kinda crazy. But the reason is simple, this set is only sold by TLG at the moment for €80. As soon as 3rd party retailers get it, it should get a more reasonable price. I really like the set.

I love how well-designed this is! I'd probably have preferred if it was larger, but for what it is, it's really well-detailed :)
In Norway all of the sets are expensive if you buy from LEGO or physical toy stores. But... we do have a few online shops that sell LEGO for way cheaper.
Examples:
LEGO Prices:
The Justifier - 185$
AT-TE Walker- 175$
Inquisitor Transport Scythe - 128$
Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter - 72$
Hoth AT-ST - 66$
Obi-Wan's Starfighter - 43$
Third Party Online:
The Justifier - 145$
AT-TE Walker- 140$
Inquisitor Transport Scythe - 92$
Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter - 54$
Hoth AT-ST - 50$
Obi-Wan's Starfighter - 28$
These are the current prices at release and they usually go down a couple bucks later.
It’s just missing a pair of stormtroopers to go in the seats and it would be a good little set. Heck I’d even prefer to ditch the speeder bike build entirely in exchange for a handful of troops to fill all those empty seats!
I love this set, will get this on clearance. Really like your honesty JANG 👍🏼👏🏼✌🏼
I've built it yesterday and fell in love with it, definitely a set where if you like what you see, you will love what you get (paid full price and don't feel ripped off at all). It helps that I'm a sucker for transport ships, so can't wait to compare it with Scytche. :)

Glad you addressed the difference in price outside of the US at the end there, it really is way too expensive for what it is here in the UK
It’s the cutest Star Wars ship I’ve ever seen.
Oh no, the Octan conglomerate has taken over the review sphere.
Such a cute stubby ship! The price is absolutely outrageous though, I expected about half until you mentioned it lol
I liked this set when I first saw it, then liked it even more once I watched this review. I finished building it this morning. Great set, fun build!
the prices are getting out of control on these sets
Honestly it's shocking how well scaled and detailed this is. The price seems a little high, but this is such a well designed and complete looking model, it seems almost justified. I think one or two more security troopers would've been good though.
Another grey ship to add to the pile. Star wars needs some more vibrant, colourful sets
This set is $129 in Australia. Absolute rort for what it is. If this was priced slightly higher than obiwan starfighter the price would have been easier to accept.
Very nice set, I love how clean it is designed. Definitely worth buying!! Thanks for this upload!!
Not as bad as I thought, also nice T-shirt.
We shouldve gotten some of the imperialized clone troopers/early stormtroopers in the set seeing as to how this is supposed to be a troop transport/dropship
I don’t think this is Imperial, they would have put a Stormtrooper in if it were.
I love this thing, having a cut-rate gunship would be perfect for my Imperial Remnants.
Tax is additional to you there in America though, whereas for everyone else, it's already been included in the price.
Love the OcTan shirt.
Love the T-shirt Jang
I can somewhat explain the immediate discounts here in Finland; many times new Lego sets are sold in big hypermarts (equivalent to Walmart I suppose) and they periodically have events where almost EVERYTHING is -20% or so, meaning that new sets can be acquired for a discount very quickly if luck so has it.
Can confirm, we have many stores here in germany where you can get new sets on sale for up to 20%.
Also, love your Octan T-Shirt.
I love the look of this ship

Just this minute finished building this I love it

Great shaping on the nose. Could use those techniques to build a moldy crow...
Thinking about getting this, widening the cockpit and adding more to the back end, bigger wings etc.
The Diego Luna minifig looks more like the front man of The BeeGees!!
It's a really good/pieced together set. $60 would be ideal, but again $90 here is a bit much.
Ahh, Kenner Mini-Rigs - that takes me right back! I really like this kit and will look out for it for sure. Just wish they'd have provided some plates to cover the underside.
I like the idea of loading the interior seats with Stormtroopers, but I have a feeling those headrests will have to be removed for that to work.
Mom, can we have the Republic Gunship?
We have the Republic Gunship at home.
The Republic Gunship at home:
this reminds me of a trex, it has a big head and little arms
Just saw the episode this was featured in. They should have added two more figs for the drop ship.
I remember when I my parents bought me the AT-TE for 86 bucks in 2013, ahhh the gold ole days
80€ is rough but this looks very wholesome. Nice build and I don't even connect to the show in any way. I wish I could say I would get this on discount , but here there are absolutely no discounts on lego 80% of the time.
2022 is the year that Lego finally learned to almost completely eliminate gaps from their Star Wars models.
in AUS we are charged $130 for this, the $70 USD converstion rate is = $104 AUS dollars :(
That windshield piece would work great for a delorean moc
ActuallyJang, I've seen new sets on discount at release, but only at particular Costco stores. Someone posted a pic of the Inquisitor ship on sale already at Costco for $79.99 I picked up Boba Fetts palace there for $65 not long after release.

In Canada it's 90.00, hard to rationalize the price.
Again, a whole lot of remarks on the price in the comment section, not so much on the engineering or functions they like, just complaining about the price.

I just wish it was a little bigger. As far as pieces and figures go, the price checks out for me. But mass-wise, I just can’t justify it.
i thought that too ! it looks like a kenner vehicle!
A great review as always - unrelated but I love your Octan shirt!
What are those lego container boxes behind you and could you do a review on good lego boxes to buy?
The price of this is certainly a source of contention for the size of this, especially in the UK and Europe. $50 skip the speeder bike - focus is the transport.
In Europe (Germany) its a LEGO Shop exclusive so you'll likely never see it on sale :((
Biggo price question, aren't US prices usually without taxes? I seem to remember that being a thing due to sales tax variation by state and whatnot, at least with other kinds of online purchase.
The 80€ (at least in Germany) already includes any and all applicable taxes.
Yep, the prices are without sales tax. And that tax is more noticeable the more expensive something is, haha.
Love the look, just too small for the price for me. Will wait for a sale!
Looks like it’s worth $40-$45 to me. Maybe $50.
I love ships that can fit more than one mini figures. The shape is ok to me, will get it on sale.
I'm surprised that whip design isn't an illegal build. I feel like that'll get stuck in that position if you left it as a display for a few months.
Question to Starwars experts: is the mobile tac-pod supposed to be a small razor crest by the same starship manufacturer?
Liked your review as always. To me the ship could be maybe an inch longer, for more room say to put the speeder in. An maybe one or two more Imperal minifig. Sad that the price where I live in Canada, is going to be more like $80-$90 dollars.

That's one chibi chonky gunship.
Seeing the speed champions windshield with side printing makes me wish the Lamborghini Countach piece had the side windows. It's clearly very possible and would have taken very little actual paint for two line.
are you going to review the lego city train station for 2022?
I've always wanted more medium sized ships from star wars. Maybe a $50 range about this size. The only problem with this set is it's not $50. At the end of the day, including the speeder it's got seats for 7 figures and we only get three.
More stormtroopers.
for the UK / EU prices, you have to take into account that this includes about 20% sales tax
I won't buy it, but honestly, it look good and may I say, kinda cute
I just got the set two days ago, it’s quite enjoyable!
I like to imagine that the main ship is the head of an AT-AT-like vehicle and the little winglets on the sides are the ears lol
In UK, we don't get the instant discounts you speak of...
Like the ship. But not the price. Will wait for a sale. You are right, the wings need to be longer (sounds like a "small" mod 😂). And where did you get that shirt? Great job once again!

Will you be reviewing the new speed champions sets?
I think it looks good inside and out. But it needs another blue uniform guard or two.
Man what a nice shirt and an even nicer video! Is the shirt custom made?
i didnt really want this set until i watched the show and i was luckily able to get ten dollars off from my vip points so im really excited about getting this set 😁
tbh i think it needs another figure, perhaps a storm trooper or guard figure. If there are 5 seats but one figure for that ship that's a bit strange.
That Octan shirt is 🔥
had no idea you also build some of your gundam on your twitch, I may need to swing by to watch that
Thanks for mentioning euro zone price. Outrageous. I'll get it with a severe discount, if i can.
Walmart used to be $5 off the day of release on most sets, I miss those days
Built it today. Had to pay 80 euro's at the Lego store. Havent seen it in other shops, so no discounts or on sale. Lego does this more often at least in the Netherlands, but probably in other European countries as well: making stuff exclusive for official Lego stores. Somewhere a speed champions set is missing it's windshield
I'll be honest i love this set not to mention the speeder and the mini figures are pretty damn good. Though i'll wait for a sale on it lol
Looks so fun!! :D Great details. Good figs. Buying it for 30$ would be perfect deal!
10 years ago a set this size would have had 500 pieces. Its interesting to me how many more pieces they cram into models today
I could see them doing a corporate soldier battle pack just to fill this out
Maybe I'm crazy, but I thought this looked more like a 30 to 40 dollar set in price. I see it is bigger than I thought when you hold it in front of you, but 70 still feels high. It seems good for what it is.
Yeah that figure does NOT look like Cassian. The alternate face is a little bit better.
Oh, and awesome Octan T-shirt haha.
It might just be the lighting in the trailers but IMO the navy blue woulda been a better fit for that uniform.
Jang, that is the coolest shirt.
I’m glad that you mentioned the UK price. Sadly lot’s of the best US prices this wave, are translated into horrible UK prices
