  • Today's video will showcase the updates to my fully custom LEGO Fondor Haulcraft from the incredible recent show Andor! The new version features some subtle aesthetic tweaks, as well as several minor color-swapped elements that will save you money on purchasing the parts!
Additionally, I have created a B-Version of the ship which uses a different, much less expensive cockpit piece, which I show near the end of the video - the alternate instructions and parts list for which are included with the purchase at no extra cost.

Awesome looking set, I don't really understand why Lego opted for the ambush on Ferrix set rather than the fondor which is far more iconic.

Disney doesn't give them much to go off so they probably only had access to the first three episodes, like how all the Kenobi sets were based off early episodes and not the final fight

Also, this is kind of a random thought, but it would be awesome to see you do a collab with BlazeTM. Been slowly working on this (first real MOC for SW), and was thinking how LEGO would likely do it. They tend in most cases to favor a very flat bottom structure to increase interior volume, simplify structural design and limit parts not seen as much. I think that design style would create a very different design, one that would suffer quite a bit visually when seen at certain angles. This design is certainly premium, in that it favors outside viewing while still granting reasonable interior space. An interesting challenge would be to make a “flat bottom” variant with less detail particularly in the front to be closer to an in-house LEGO designer. This design fits more into a LEGO Ideas set or even approaching a UCS Fondor level.

    • @2bricks

On the topic of MOCs, since there is no better place to ask, have you ever considered a Super Star Destroyer in play-scale as a sort of up-gunned 75055 set? I am thinking of trying to make one personally, but am new to MOCs and not sure I could pull of the design structurally well. I was picturing a set maybe 1.5x the length of the 75055 set, 2x worst case due to it's long design in order to have some degree of interior.

I’ve never been the hugest super star destroyer fan, it doesn’t fill me with nostalgia or anything when I look at it, and the amount of insane greeblies is intimidating- however with all the new parts that exist it could be a cool challenge to see just how slick you could make it…you’ve given me food for thought

I didn't really design this based off of any one particular set, though with the price of the Razorcrest canopy piece, you may as well buy the whole set lol

Looks great! I wonder if I bought a 2nd Razor Crest how many shared parts there would be. If the $40 cockpit piece turns people off, it might be more cost effective to buy a 2nd copy of The Razor Crest.

I agree!! You can see on rebrickable how much parts overlap there is with the razor crest, maybe there’s enough to make it the smarter purchase!

I actually prefer the alternative piece.
I'd even prefer a completely clear one, with no decal.
Maybe even a similar piece that was used on the various Lego Millennium Falcons.
