    Honestly, I didn't think a 44.2 from a 16-year-old was physically possible. Not just for him, but for ANY 16-year-old. It's impossible to predict his future potential, because there are literally 0 other people who have even been close to this at this age.

      It's impossible but if I had to place a bet I would say he'll break the world record before he's 25.
      He just has so much growing and learning left to do that ALL young sprinters figure out later.

      A lot of us saw his potential to run a low 44 when he was competing at the U.S. Trials, but it's still crazy he was able to pull it off here.

      Yup I was thrown into one whether I wanted to or yes😂😂😂😂. I had never even properly run a 200 metre race before but they just needed someone and threw me in there.
      I didn't know any better, so I went out blazing instead of pacing myself. I only made it to 150m before my body shut down and I felt like I was running in reverse😂😂😂😂
      The skill and endurance it takes to run that is insane.

    Just watch this kid running that last 100m in pure agony. Every fiber of his body is screaming at him, telling him to slow down or stop and he just keeps pushing until he crosses that finishline. At 16 years old, with this kind of determination and resolve, if he has the work ethic to match he's going to be one of the greatest ever. Unbelievable

    Quincy Wilson 16 years old we are watching greatness in the making he just ran 44.20sec. when I first saw him at the Penn relays, i was like this kid is fast, and has the stamina and endurance to go even faster once he cleans up his form. Wow... i hope he surrounds himself with some good people

      Definitely not. Improving starts to slowdown by this point. Quincy Wilson will probably get the WR based on this trajectory but probably not until he’s 20/21 years old

    I ran at Penn State on a scholarship for the 400 meter hurdles and its shocking to me to see a kid at his age run these times. The craziest part is his form at the end of the race completely breaks down BUT he's still running that fast.. Tons of room to grow. I just hope he stays healthy and humble. Sky is the limit and we are all rooting for him.

    I am blown away. Quincy has no idea how fast he is. He toes the line and runs with everything he has each time. We have no idea how fast he can become. I won't predict times for him because he will break them anyway. Just so much fun to watch. Mind-blowing!!

    Absolutely unreal. I was worried that he had (rightfully) peaked for the Trials and wouldn't see much improvement until next year but he keeps blowing my mind. I also absolutely love how Holloway interviewed him!

      His coaching method is unconventional. His coach does not believe in peaking too early he believes that limits an athlete and if they have the talent just turn them loose and let em go. Looks like they are turning it up a notch now.

    Damn! How does a 16-year old run 44.2, that’s nuts. Some kids get slower with more weight as they develop physically, he has a real shot 43s as an 18 year old, let that sink in. Hope he stays healthy, grounded and surrounds himself with good people. US track nation is rooting for Quincy!

      He's had the same coach for 11 yrs I believe and just finished the 10th grade with straight As. Mom was a basketball and soccer star in college and dad played football for the Naval Academy. I think the older sister runs track for UVA now. Don't quote me but I think Quincy W also plays varsity football. Supposed to be really good as long as he doesn't get tackled. Ha.

    Until recently this year, this would have been faster than the outright European record, is currently faster than the Oceanian record, is faster than the 3rd fastest Asian time and the 4th fastest south American. It is also faster than all but 19 national records in the world. In any country in the world, having an athlete of any age running with this caliber is something to be proud of, let alone from a 16 year old.

      I suspect he has an enlarged heart. It is the only rational for him to be running like this amongst grown men. He is fast enough, but his lung capacity takes him further at the same rate whilst others are tiring.

      Its incredible. According to world athletics stat sheets, this is the 3rd fastest 400m by an under 20 athlete, and he’s done it at 16 years old.

      OMG! I said the same thing. But he did clip off 3 of them to get 6th place. But for that he would not have been considered for the relay. Now it appears he is trying to make his case for a final spot on one of the relays. He keeps running the time he ran today he just may do it.

    That was pretty impressive, give him about two years with a solid coach and good health,I don't see anyone in his review mirror. He 16 with a average running form and still clocks 44.2 is simply incredible

    Quincy is an amazing young man!! Well coached. Very disciplined and poised as a young high schooler. In 10th grade I was nowhere near this level of maturity and dedication to anything and here he is beating grown men who are professional athletes. Unbelievable.🙏🏾✌🏾

    Heres what i want everyone to do tomorrow to show you how impressive this is:
    Go to your local track and find the 300m start line(just beyond the second turn)
    Run your fastest 300 meters.
    Compare your time with Quincy's 400m time.
    You should then realize how gifted this kid is.

    I was an ok high jumper in high school. Coach made me run the 4x4 relay at a meet one time because we were missing someone on the B team relay. Absolutely brutal. I’d ran them before in practice but never at a meet. It’s the 400 or 800 for most grueling event, and this young man just beat out fully grown men in their prime to make the Olympics… whew 😳

      @landonpoland5092 As far as I know, he can't run in the open 400 as he did not make the team. He only made it as an alternate for relays. I'm not sure what you mean.

    The way he was pacing his speech in post interview while dead tired tells you much is has mastered his breath control 😄. I just hope with these new records being broken, like Sydney Mclaughlin , these athletes are not peaking to soon before the Olympics. However I'm sure their coaching staff knows what they're doing.

    Even more impressive than Erriyon Knighton's 20.33 at 16. 44.2 at 16 is mindblowing stuff. Just subbing 50 at that age is really good. Quincy Wilson is on pace to be the first man to sub-43 before he's 20 at this rate 😮
