It’s crazy how this video is probably way too early to even be fully made. We’re seeing only the top of the iceberg of Quincy Wilson’s ability, can’t wait to see what he does over the next few years.
@@lamontyoung9773 Yeah, but none of those guys peaked at 16. Mike Norman cut down 2 seconds off his 400m time since he was 16. We’ll have to wait and see.
really appreciate your message at the end of the video. super important for the health of athletes. we need more of this in the sports world. i'm a grade 6-12 track and field coach and these kids have so much on their shoulders as it is and running is such a mental sport. let the kids be kids and let them love this sport. it's not a job. it's a passion.
He dropped his PB in the 400m .39 seconds in 3 weeks. At that rate of increase, he might be running 42s by the end of the track season. High School is over, Quincy is a pro now.
I remember seeing him destroy seniors in the 500 at one of his (and mine) first indoor meets where my teammates and i could not believe what we saw or that someone our age could run that fast.
Loving it!!! Can we get a video on Parker Valby, Sydney McLaughlin, and BYU’s women coach Taylor?! Would love those so much!!! Thank you for your great work.
@@dabedwetter doesn't even have grown man muscles yet. he will need a world class nutritionist to help him build the body or a really good strength and conditioning coach to help him maintain so he can build on natural strength..
Unreal talent. Obea Moore ran an incredible 45.14 at age 16, and now THIS. Will he touch/surpass Steve Lewis' insane world junior record which is 43.87 (from 1988)?? He will be an interesting to follow in the upcoming years.
Keep the expectations on a leash. Remember Obea Moore, who Wilson replaced as the world record holder. Obea was great in HS, made it to the Olympic Trials, but high expectations dried him up. Look up Obea's story and let Quincy do his thing on his own.
I don't know the first thing about track & field but saw an article about this kid Quincy Wilson so been watching stuff on him. Sounds phenomenal. Then when I saw your comment I found this documentary on Obea Moore and I'm watching it now. So thanks for the comment. Fascinating stuff, the twists and turns of major athletes. Imagine being a junior or senior when Quincy was a 15 year old freshman. Training for 3 or 4 years for your chance at glory just for some kid you've barely heard of to come and snatch it from everyone's hands. I'd be sick to my stomach.
I’m not sure it’s his speed but it’s his ability to keep a high speed throughout the 400 that makes him win a lot because surely those grown men can reach higher top speeds but they can’t hold that like Quincy can
Quincy is literally a Phenom, like Bo, Wilt, MJ etc. He has no problem with the spotlight. I don't think it's a stretch to say he's going to go sub 44 before he turns 17. 42.99 and beyond is not far off. He's going to do to the 400 what Sydney did to the 400h. It's going to be must-see TV and as glamorous as the 100/200.
There's actually a better chance that he runs the 800m in the future. His endurance is legit. I expect that he's gonna drop a 1:47 or better in his upcoming junior season.
and not only does he still have growth body wise, which will make him even faster.. imagine what happens when his technique (which appears to be the one real weakness.. his arms seem to flail about a bit more than other elite runners at this distance) sharpens
