We agree! The first time we saw them in concert was opening for Black Sabbath’s last tour. Scott CRUSHED it! The band as a whole are just so incredibly talented.🎧
Scott is such a cool dude, absolutely killer player and I could hear him talk about his gear and stuff for hours.. I really need to listen to this band more, they're awesome
I love this band!!! Darkfighter is awesome! Everything they do is awesome! Scott has become one of my favorite guitarists. His use of effects is very musical. Not everyone who uses effects like this is.
I never heard of rival son's - the clips of the band in this video sound pretty good. This is probably my favorite sound of any rig rundown I have seen. Great tones from clean to really dirty - the insane modulation sounds are wonderful. Great vid.
I love Rival Sons. I don't know why but i was expecting something big and complicated with lots of pedals and amps. Then Scott Holiday goes "i went digital" so i thought "oh, so his rig must be simple" then he shows 6 amps, 50 pedals on a shelf and a controller board for the Line 6 that has 30 switches on it 😀 His guitar tech definitely deserves his paycheck 😀
Scott wins when it comes to sound hands down. Classy choices all the way through. Powerful player who deserves way more attention. Rock and Roller to the core! Carrying on the flame of genuine rock ‘n’ roll music and with his own unique spin. He comes across as a super down to earth guy. Would enjoy chatting with him and hearing more about the guitars.
love that he uses guitars that aren't popular in the music scene and plays what he likes and the guitars are beautiful and im a huge fan of scotts playing and Rival Sons;
Saw them at Sonic Temple for the first time and was absolutely blown away by the guitar tone. Honestly was a breath of fresh air from all the high gain stuff. Love it!
This place and the Ryman are the venues I miss the most in Nashville. 😍 Also, I could listen to these two talk guitar $#!+ all day any day! Great ep, gents!
Dave Amato been doing the flying v bigsby Lonnie mack for lat 8 years..but,still cool.good band great guitars, great interview..cool guy and guitar lover.awesome
I want that Sparkley Orange Gretsch as a 7 string. Ironically they used to have the George Van Eps model 7 string. I would love a 7 string Firebird as well.
I love how he’s telling us what expression pedals do what yet we do t have a camera on any of it so we have no idea which one he is talking about. Nice job
Lonnie Mack had a Gibson Flying V in the 60's & played 1 Of 5 until his passing... Lonnie played one with SRV You can find videos of that & of Lonnie playing his in the 80's P.O.W. M.I.A. Never Forget
I got to see RS with Greta Van Fleet at the Honda Center earlier this year. My only complaint is that they didn’t play a longer set. Awesome band! I think it’s really cool that his rig is basically a Line 6 Helix. Makes me want one.
I've been eyeing a Kauer Super Chief or Korona. I do have a Titan KR2 with Cremas that plays really nice. I do have a Firebird in TS, it is just a really cool guitar. That Yamaha sure is sweet!
I'm trying to follow all of the routing, but it seems as though the pedals on the right are before the HX floor, as is the volume pedal. I'm basing that on where it's located, as well as a rig rundown he did with Sweetwater before incorporating the Bradshaw rig
That was great John! He didn't give you much room to talk there, LOL I'm Scott minus 1, I use a Train Wreck clone with just a volume and tone control. LOL Great stuff!! 8) --gary
@@premierguitar Hmmm. Change of subject kinda but would something like the Tonex sound good through cabs? That's what's holding me back on that purchase.
@@captainkirk70 as I understand, as long as the amp is captured _without_ a speaker cab (the direct out is captured, not the feed from a mic in front of a speaker) then a cab will sound great.
I wonder why he moved away from fractal. I thought he had an ax3 a while back….. Man, I love the over the top nerd talk of the signal path and everything about this rundown. We’ll done, John B.

I saw them in NY last week. Scott is a criminally underrated guitarist. He is just awesome
I saw them at the same show, they are a super underrated band.
I've seen them twice. Both for my birthday! And I totally agree. Very underrated.
We agree! The first time we saw them in concert was opening for Black Sabbath’s last tour. Scott CRUSHED it! The band as a whole are just so incredibly talented.🎧
Saw them at the palladium as well. Amazing!!
I love the intercutting with live footage of the gear in action, keep doing that!!
Thanks! Will do!
Yes, I was thinking the same thing!
@@premierguitarLikewise! Love seeing and hearing the guitars in action!

This is guitar nerd absurdity at its best. Never change Scott. Loved the Sons since 2011 👾
Great rig rundown! John and Scott should do one of these every year. Fantastic! God bless and rock on 🎸
thanks for watching!!
Love John he's the best humble dude he keeps a genuine vibe
I love this band!!! Darkfighter is awesome! Everything they do is awesome! Scott has become one of my favorite guitarists. His use of effects is very musical. Not everyone who uses effects like this is.
the last rig rundown was what got my into rival sons....loving the new video, love the sons , best band ever

What a rad dude with amazing gear! Hearing TRS is like an everlasting holiday. So fresh. Keeping rock n' roll alive❤

Killer band, sick rig, even sicker collection of guitars...& with style to spare!!

I saw them in Atlanta….His tone is one of the best live sounds I’ve ever heard.
I like him. He takes it seriously but knows its only rocknroll really
Rival sons are simply the best rock band ever barre none. amazing live and on record

I’ve got all the Rival Sons records but sadly have never seen them live 😡
So loved his rig rundown 👍
I just discovered this band thanks to this video and this guy is a riff master!
stoked kauer getting some attention theyre guitars are sweet!
Man I wish that semi-hollow Revstar was commercially available.
I could listen to John and Scott talk forever 🤘
The Rival Sons has the sound that generation needs to know!!!
THE Fuzzlord! great rig rundown and band!
Right On can't wait too see that double neck
Two Doublenecks!
Just saw Rival Sons this past Sunday. I love these guys and Scott is so good.
best rock band ever. an absolute must see live act too.
Fantastic. Saw them again in Copenhagen a few months ago. The best. Who needs 2 double necks. Scott H!🎉🎉
That Yamaha is gorgeous!! I wish that was in production.
For a retro band, this really is a complex setup!
Retro? Playing good REAL rock n roll isn’t “retro”…..it’s just sadly rarely done nowadays
He always used tons of guitars each show and tons of pedals. Retro guys use like 4 guitars and 6 pedals for like 2 hours of show
Please do a Rig Rundown with BIG WRECK .. that would be so cool!!!
This place and the Ryman are the venues I miss the most in Nashville. 😍 Also, I could listen to these two talk guitar $#!+ all day any day! Great ep, gents!
I am a "simple rig" guy, but really appreciate the work Scott puts into duplicating the sounds of the Rival Sons albums for a live audience.
Hey I was at this show in Nashville! Wish I knew you guys were there! I would have bought you a beer or two! Cheers.
Next time!
I need an updated Dave Beste rundown 🫠
He’s just as mysterious as Scott’s OG ZAP Fuzz
We will see them here in KC on the 17th! Can’t wait!
Love all the custom guitars but the Jazzmaster stole me heart...veddy-nice , veddy-nice !
Saw them live opening for Whiskey Myers they were freaking awesome 👏🏻
Love the Kauer!

Does anybody know what song they are playing at 7:58?. It's got a good groove and I can't find it anywhere.
Pressure And Time
Right?! Fuckin grooves for days!
Guitarwise, one of the best Rig Rundowns ever...
RATTLE SHAKE RECORDS!! Awesome! Nice of John to give them the publicity!

That Yamaha SG type model they put out late 70's is very nice guitar. They were about a grand back then.
See you in Tromsø, Norway very soon!
Dude was also the very first to wear a hat and moustache...
Please ask Scott to demo more in the next one 🙏

A Great Firebird will set you free. Yes sir, set you free.
What a cool rig.
I LOVE IT
'Nobody is playnig a Firebird." The only person who immediately comes to mind is Nick Perri.
Whoa! Perfect timing
Great lighting on the guitars😮
Where does the volume pedal insert in the pedal board rig?
I'm trying to follow all of the routing, but it seems as though the pedals on the right are before the HX floor, as is the volume pedal. I'm basing that on where it's located, as well as a rig rundown he did with Sweetwater before incorporating the Bradshaw rig
I heard one of there songs on a truck commercial ?
Brian Jones and Keith Richards didn’t share a firebird - they owned their own ones respectively
So he’s using the helix amp models with power amp and real cab? Or he’s using the helix just for fx ?
I was shocked to hear that he was using the Helix for his sound, but he really makes it work and does it well.
The guitar i liked best was the green banshee, with two pickups and gold hardware.
Is that a Bixby on that Flying V???
It’s not even a traditional V, it’s a Banker Custom V. 🤤🤤🤤
Did anyone say Lonnie Mack?!

Do anyone know if the octave effect in the outro is the Kossek FX Kraken?
I wish I could get these patchez from Line 6 Helix
IVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE BUT SCOTT USE THE SLIDE RING SO KILLAR'
Love the rattle shake record shirt y’all need to look at Tyler Bryant rig again it’s changed a good bit
I play a Firebird, mainly because Paul Leary played them. Talk about an underrated guitar player…
Got to meet Scott at Rock On the Range talked to him for a little bit and got an autograph
I dig the p90 Banker V Chris Tapp plays.
Is that a korina V?
I wonder if the end was everything on at once?
I have never seen him without sunglasses.
Solid states, just like Red Fang ! Soon Scott will use EMG pickups 😂
No one does it better than Jimmmy
Dale Coleman from EXPRESSWAY 💫
Hell Bender 🔥🤘🏻 #deeptrip 🇧🇷
So the amps are just for show? Or are those cabs with the Line 6 running through them??
Cabs that the Helix/PowerStage/effects are running through.

Probably money, Line 6 hands out a bit of cash his way makes it an easy choice
I never saw him use an AX3, but he started using the Helix a couple years back I think.
I WANNA SEE WHAT HE’S USING IN WITHIN HIS HELIX PATCH! And the parameters of course. 😂
Yes yes yes
Nice! Guy - guitars - rig -

Where is Dave Beste man...
Dear Yamaha *make that Revstar!*
