  • To the surprise of no one, I've yet again bought another pile of junk project car... a Dodge Demon under $20,000? How could I say no! It may need a little lot of work... but it's time to max the credit cards and build the ultimate American muscle car and what better platform to start with than the legendary Challenger Demon!
    After years of buying Scat Pack's, 392's and Hellcat's from salvage auction, I'm thrilled to own my first demon, even if it's completely, utterly destroyed...

    I’m 8:30 into the video and I’m seeing it needs probably 200 hours of body fab plus new panels, new transmission, you have to manual swap it so 50 more hours of labor, full overhaul of the engine, new suspension all the way around with new hubs and axels and to top it all off new electric from the grill to the tail lights. My estimated rebuild time and cost is about 400 hours of labor and approximately 30,000 k in parts. Unless you have a whole sale supply place you use then it’s 400 hours and 15,000 k

    You know you could have took that $20,000 and bought a regular standard Dodge Challenger that had all the good parts on it that that one has and then bought some fender flares and a Dodge demon from the dealership and probably still had a good $10,000 left over. I know for a fact that rear spoiler and tail light assembly and gas filler cap is a lot cheaper than $20,000

    I saw that roofline at 7:11 and knew right away that chassis is toast...if you had a fire hot enough to sag the roof, on a unibody car, that thing is gonna be as flimsy as a taco shell...about the only way to make that chassis usable is to full cage it from front to back, otherwise it's gonna slowly buckle and crumple in on itself every time you put power to the pavement...

    If you have the money to buy it and restore it then definitely do it it's going to be worth a shit ton 50 years if history repeats itself from now because they only made 3,300 of them and it was a one year run the problem is it's going to have a salvaged or rebuilt title I would try to buy all OEM Dodge parts when restoring it though! Installing a complete new wiring harnesses going to be a fuckin nightmare! You definitely got your hands full with this one but i subbed cuz I can't wait to see what you do with it! I would love to own a piece of el demonio BTW I make car art out of old parts like camshafts and connecting rods ECT. so I would really appreciate a part from a demon but what I think happened is somebody stole this car and beat the living shit out of it until the transmission blew then they lit it on fire!

    • @870expressmag
      @870expressmag Год назад +5

      It would be worth money in the future but, with it nearly being entirely burnt in a fire (which would have to be disclosed) it would almost be like having an R title car.

    Here’s an idea if you are continuing to keep the original body of that car just imagine real quick how sick it would be if you clear coated and preserved all of that burn rust out aesthetic kind of like how you see a lot of retro, Refab builds keep in the old rusty patina it will contribute to the story of the car imagine demon resurrection how crazy would that be? You could even name it the resurrected and maybe even add a couple crazy futuristic aesthetics as well too it kind a like the terminator type theme added to the paint scheme or some thing.

    In a burn up like the one you have purchased there is too much structural integrity destroyed by the fire. I would have thought twice! The fire started in the front corner of the driver side. You can see the burn pattern.

    So by the looks of it the car burned down because someone was doing insane burnouts and caught on fire somewhere and the busted wheel claims they hit a curve while at it and by burn pattern and blown trans is a good sign transmission was the culprit
