Interesting I like both games I feel like Alex is more agile and his devastators are better, while James has more versatility in his fighting style with better combos.
@@Quaden0 you can mix different shape shifting abilities together by switching in between them spontaneously stringing off some combos, Alex Mercer doesn’t have that.
@@mathematics557 Alex dosent switch moves mid-combo, but he has multiple different moves you can put together by upgrading him. James doesn't have that. Though what you're describing technically is a combo, it is not very combat oriented as James' moves are more about AOE damage.
An open world game with destruction and cool powers. It’s amazing. Just wish they could make a new one. Can u imagine how fun and how realistic and cool the game would like with today’s consoles?
That's an actually cool idea,but i prefer the way it is. It's always interesting to see the protagonists of older games becoming bosses in the later games
I like how in prototype 1 the powers' biomass looks less like something that came from a virus and more like something that's alien, whereas the second game's biomass really drives that virus goo look with the sinue and red glow.

To be honest most people don't get it, but P1 had its magic which part 2 dumbed down on. For example even doing the simple things with Alex was insanely fun. Watching Alex parkour like a real parkour pro, when he jumped and spin etc. Plus I hate hellers annoying voice. Alex wasn't obnoxious or anything. Alex was also way cooler looking to me. Mysterious character with a badass jacket and style? I'll take that instead.
Prototype 1 was the best when it comes to move set and many possible combo strings prototype 2 turned this combat system into a spam based combat system and it lowered the possibilities which upsetted me because I’m a huge prototype fan I had hype for the second one but I quickly lost interest
If only prototype 2 had the same combat system as the first one.. The combat mechanic on the second just makes you not want to use your fists to fight anymore
I don't know why, but I really loved 1 but 2 felt better to me, but I would love if they bought back Alex and made Alex and James work together with their own abilities (Alex for agile assassination and James for absolute brutality)
Prototype 2 wins on gameplay. For characters, the first one wins. I really wish we were Alex again, and that we could see his descent into villain-hood, then we could try and infect the world.
Just finished playing both of them back to back but I must say I preferred 2. In the first I felt there was too much incentive to use your environment to your advantage because you were just too weak to deal with some threats. A case in point is when dealing with the military, one of your best courses of action if not being attacked by tanks would be to pick up a gun and insta kill all the troops. Similarly, the addition of the muscle mutation made it better to run around and just throw things instead of actually fighting. It was better to hop into a tank or a heli to kill something than to use your own powers because the threat is much lower that way. Prototype 2, while being too easy (I only played it on normal, may do another runthrough on insane), made me feel like an actual supersoldier who could go toe to toe with like 5 hunters/brawlers. In Prototype 1, I feel as though you are pigeonholed into using only certain techniques, like the long range whipfist attack as well as the swords dive slice (1 shots hunters). There is, and I will frame this as a good thing for 2, no fight in 2 that made me punch a whole in my monitor such as the elizabeth greene fight (so very monotonous and long and unforgiving). There are other things but I will end my rant there.
Prototype 2 is better. From gameplay - graphics - world building Just because prototype 1 has a tiny bit more powers doesn't mean it's better. It beats prototype 1 by everything but that extra power.
I disagree I personally think the mechanics and the movement are a lot better in the first game. Your blade is also a lot more powerful in the first game and you have a bigger variety of moves to use with each power.

If Prototype 2 had an ending cinematic like in the first game of a drop of goo consuming a small animal and slowly regenerating itself, hinting that Alex survived it would be a decent sequel. Not great, but decent.
To be honest, I prefer Prototype 2 over Prototype 1. It seemed more fun and colorful and not as depressing as the first game. Plus I loved James's cursing over Alex's emo or goth attitude.
Go the parkour and the symmetry of the game in prototype was ahead of its time when it released. It’s basically like Spider-Man but without webs and more like venom+virus mix.
I wish they made a third game. It would be awesome to play a game with maybe some new powers or new combos for the weapons we have. They could add a system where you can choose a weapons for your right and your left arm, would give a lot of new combos to use.

Mostly because of the story. While the story for P1 was simple it was more serious and dark. It also had less mutations and while gameplay was weak it was more strategic in comparison to P2. That, and Alex Mercer was a more interesting protagonist than James Heller.

I remember that the first part didn't catch me, after a year I tried second part and I totally got into it. I was angry at Alex that he moved from his innocence into supervillian... someday I may even try to actually play the first part.

Was looking into getting prototype back on my ps4 I’ve played the first one and absolutely loved it, never played the second one so I don’t know which one to get. Currently broke so can’t get either but figured I’d ask which one people prefer

Just one error on the prototype 2 the map is divided into the green zone, yellow zone and red zone. yellow and green are completely new but red zone is the map from the 1st game.

Mostly because of the story. While the story for P1 was simple it was more serious and dark. It also had less mutations and while gameplay was weak it was more strategic in comparison to P2. That, and Alex Mercer was a more interesting protagonist than James Heller.

AND FINALLY 4 STEPS LEFT
10. Click on 0000 or 0001
11. Click on umd
And you will see on the right side there is a alot of things
12. And then find CatalystAI and CatalystAI_DEF and change its value to
CatalystAI= 30
CatalystAI_DEF= 0
And done you can just click on the exit button

I remember that the first part didn't catch me, after a year I tried second part and I totally got into it. I was angry at Alex that he moved from his innocence into supervillian... someday I may even try to actually play the first part.
I personally suggest you not, the 2nd have more good mechanic than the 1st, some fight in the 1st feel so dumb when you cant block or dogde properly
Don’t listen to him, the first is pretty much better In everyway except graphics
@@doublex4193 Eh, the combat is pretty bad in the first game, and the bosses can be cheap. The combat is definitely better in the second game with counters and dodges and blocking

@@doublex4193 dunno how, the combat is basically objectively better with the counters and dodging. Getting infinite stun locked by a hunter isn’t fun in prototype 1. You could argue for the bosses and disagree with that, but not the combat itself.

Was looking into getting prototype back on my ps4 I’ve played the first one and absolutely loved it, never played the second one so I don’t know which one to get. Currently broke so can’t get either but figured I’d ask which one people prefer

Prototype is a special game to me; played it when i was a kid and I was sick with the flu and feeling like shit and the game with its virus/sickness orientated plot sort of rang true with how I was feeling.
My flu cleared up the day I finished it.

Just one error on the prototype 2 the map is divided into the green zone, yellow zone and red zone. yellow and green are completely new but red zone is the map from the 1st game.
Are each zone small or do they feel open enough where it’s not like “welp I’ve run around this city block, nothing left to do, next zone” ?
