I drove the brand new 2018 LC500 yesterday. The car is gorgeous, saw it in Liquid Platinum . It is such an exciting car to drive, smooth drive, lots of power but I never ever see the LC 500 on the road. People who own it do not drive it everyday. ( I live at the beach where the Porsche is the most popular car). I love the LC500 and I will probably buy it. I'm not really into cars ..... I am a woman and can't resist this one. It's truly exceptional.

Simply put Lexus hit a home run with this one. Others may be faster, but for everyday livability it can't be beat. To the guy who said my Lexus isn't running, all due respect you can't compare a project car to a well taken care of Lexus. My daily is a '99 Lexus GS400 with 228,000 miles which I bought new and I have every service record for the last 18 years. Not one single problem. I also own a '02 SC430 with 108,000 miles that drives like new. Both cars are maintained by the book at the dealer. Service these cars well and they will last forever. I plan on picking up an LC500 in a few years after the price has come down. This car at $50-60k will be a steal.
Kevin Key my first Lexus was a 2003 GS300. I don't know why I traded that car in, loved that smooth I-6. Currently have a 2016 GS-F, but this LC is tempting me to trade it in lol.
I doubt this car will depreciate that much. Lexus is one of the highest cars that hold its value very well. You'll have to wait at least 10 years for it to go down 50-$60k.
@@oscarbadillo3844 just wondering if you sold your gs f? Also what did you think of it in general (out of 10 maybe lol). I am currently debating between a used rc f or a gs f (from 2015/2016). Gotta test drive both soon for sure
The LC500 is quite the Driving Experience!! Handling, engine sound in the Convertible, is a must have and must do experience. Try it and experience the drive….Thank me now or later. In the mean time, cue the music, let the top down and just feel the drive and enjoy The Experience!!
I’m a seventy five year old UK male resident and I’ve just bought a LC500 sport plus in Sonic red with tan trim, I absolutely love it. It’s looks are amazing, as you say the tech takes time to master but I got there after a couple of days. Great review Gregson.

RootsandTendrils Maserati are special cars for people who don't care about repair costs or spending time in repair shops. The Maserati used to be my favorite GT the first time I saw it in London. Then I saw the LC500, and the Maserati pales in comparison.
OMG! that's a really bold statement!, he's been in Ferrari & Lamborghini, yet the lc 500 turn more heads than both of those super cars, that's say a lot about lexus and it's designes. MUCH RESPECT TO LEXUS!
I love how Lexus made sure that luxury & beauty do not end even you are driving it. A lot of cars beautiful, either exterior or interior. Very few like LC have both.
No one cares about lap times. LC500 = Aston martin beating looks + Naturally aspirated V8 (a stunning combination) & at half the price at 100k$ ,the LC500 is the best GT car of all time period. Cant believe porsche charges 90-100k for a base 911 with a V6. This LC crushes them all. Haters can hate. Potatoes can potate . Facts wont change.
The funny thing is I was aware of this since release, had seen these at a couple of different shows, even sat in it. I was sold on the interior instantly as being one of the best on the market, not as sold on the exterior looks. However, now someone in my neighborhood has one, and I've started to see it every other day, and seeing it on the street among "ordinary cars" the design has an impact that it didn't have at shows full of other unusual or high end cars. In the real world it stands out like a misplaced movie prop from a movie that takes place at least 20 years in the future. There's really nothing else like it, it's not derivative, it can't be mistaken for any other car, the overall shape and the details are unique, it looks amazing from a distance and up close, now I'm 100% sold on the design. Aside from that it also has one of the better sounding engines currently on sale.
I fully agree with what you've written here, but the Maserati GT is a car of great attributes as well, including a usable back seat, and as a design success as good and perhaps better. ladiesforthegranturismo.wordpress.com/
The track pad is great! I think the people who review it for like a day or a few hours aren’t giving themselves a decent amount of time to familiarise themselves with the technology as you have stated in your video. Spot on!
I'm glad you have given this an honest review. what people complain about in cars is very irrelevant for daily driving. 90 percent of drivers are not racing or track drivers. All these complaints about how much horsepower , sports handling, time it takes to accelerate .etc is should only be important if you are going to use all that power on a daily basis.
10:15 or so you say exactly what I feel, everyone needs to get over stupid numbers comparisons and just appreciates cars for their looks and the overall soul of it. Sick to death of some carbon fibre ugly garbage being glorified because of a spec.
Absolutely stunning review. Just quality levels of appreciating the product on so many levels. Also, “God ripping up phone books” got me laughing. In love with the LC500.
If you remember the Speed Racer series from the '60s, this car is the logical evolution of the Mach 5. Can be equipped with a surveillance drone, just like in the cartoon.
2010 Lexus IS350 Convertible is my choice. HUGE trunk space enough for my wife and daughter to pack luggage for a solid weekend, ability to fit four in the back seat including myself (5'10" 200 lbs) quick response, combined with top down experience is hard to beat. Mark Levinson stereo system adds a nice acoustic touch. I looked at this LC 500 and if it weren't for lack of trunk space, lack of drink holders and other annoying ticks when it first came out we would have bought it. In hindsight I'm glad we didn't even though it's a beautiful, beautiful car.
Good review. I do think this car is already taking too much of my free time on youtube . But the way it looks and sounds completely destroys the likes of the jag f type . I'm from the midlands and can tell you pretty bored of that car now , but I have yet to see one of these beasts rolling by and living near Coventry I must see 10 to 15 f types everyday. Well done lexus and a really good review . Keep up the honesty. Subscribed
The Lexus LFA has gained collector car platinum status faster than any halo car in history.... brand new was $350k..... now the priced has jumped to near $1,000,000
Every review I've seen on this car have all been positive and praised. Move over Porsche and Mercedes there's a new sheriff in town and he's taking over. Yes I said Porsche because their new models have become more GT.
I bought a 2018 LC 500 last November. It's Infra Red with Toasted Caramel interior. It is by far the most wonderful car that's ever been in my garage. Living in California it made absolutely NO SENSE to get the 21" wheels since this state is loaded with potholes. You need sidewalls on your tires or you'll be spending half your time at "Ye Olde Wheel Repair Shop". The 20" wheels have an extra .5" of sidewall which does make a difference. As far as the wing and four wheel steering goes those also seemed unnecessary for a 72 year old who is just going to drive and enjoy the car and not see how quick he can kill himself because he thinks he's an expert race car driver. The car is perfect for me and it does everything you'd ever want in an automobile. Learning all the high tech computer gizmos or what Lexus calls "Enform" does take some time. I'm about 75-80% there. If you're lucky enough to get a chance to own one of these machines I can promise you that every time you get in and start it up, you will smile. It is a joy to simply look at the wonderful design and workmanship that went into the making of the LC. I think what blew me away most....maybe because I'm old.....was the discovery that I could play any song I wanted at any time I wanted. You can go onto youtube, select songs or even albums and play them over your speakers. That is pretty cool!!
The Jaguar is beautiful as well but they have a lot of issues , in the shop a lot . I owned one and said no more !!! Then I bought the LC 500 and just love it and is not in the shop weekly ?

Totally fine to use. I even use it on the least feedback setting. It just makes sense and everything is so easy to find. The only issue I found is the slight lag when selecting music from USB but nobody ever mentions that. They get hung up on how 'unintuitive' and 'distracting' and 'no apple Carplay Android auto' etc the system is. Also the placement of the huge screen means that you never really need to take your eyes off the road once you learn where things are. I will be sad if Lexus ever moves to a touch screen or gesture control. I don't want to wave my arms around in my car like tech addicted teen. I don't want to look down and reach forward to touch a screen and look away from the road. RTI ftw.
Thank God that moving gauge is made by Lexus..... imagine Mercedes or BMW put moving gauge like that in their cars.... we all know how that will end already
Finally someone tells it like it is with the Lexus infotainment system. Like any new tech just "learn it". The problem is most consumers that will buy this car are let's face it 40+. So it's safe to say they won't be the most tech savvy bunch, but when you get a younger crowd like the reviewer and myself the infotainment system is a very small hurdle to get over. So with that said if you're an old fart having a midlife crisis save yourself the pissing and moaning, don't buy this car.

These car journalists just look for something negative to pick on cause they aren't used to it. That just shows how dumb most of them are. Spend time with it and I'm sure in 2 or 3 days one would get used to it the way they did when the BMW I drive system was first introduced with the swivel knob. All this talk of its very distracting is total BS, by the time one spends time with this u'll know the basic menu layout for everything you need done and would know where to scroll to using the touch pad without any issues. Lexus did say when the Ls 500 was unveiled back in January that the touch pad would support handwriting recognition. Surprised those who have tested it say it doesn't. May be the final consumer units will have this feature offered.
