Hey Greg I just want to say that you are one of my favourite car channels. I have always enjoyed your down to earth yet very professional style of videos. I too have a die hard love for Toyota/Lexus. The quality and reliability is just unlike any other brands. Great review of the LC500. Cheers, Evan.
@@tibchy144 hhhhhh what a joke.... Japanese cars are the inventors of technology that Mercedes and all cars use.... GTR and v-tec engines are enough to explain....... But in the end its personal preferences
It's a masterpiece. As a owner of a Lexus (unfortunately not a LC500) I can confirm the reliability and the quality of design, material, functionality and service. In the past 35 years spent in Europe and the USA I drove and owned Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Audi, VW GTI Rabbit, Volvo (when it was still a "real" Volvo), Mercedes (real Mercedes)...but in my opinion Lexus is, so far, worth every penny of the investment.
You’ve made an excellent point in relation to luxury, reliability and performance. This is something that never comes up and you’ve nailed it. As consumers we quite often get caught up in pub numbers. What’s the fastest and lightest etc. If it doesn’t meet spec then it’s a failure. But beneath the surface Lexus has developed this car with other criteria. Those criteria as you say rarely come together and this what indeed makes this car even more special again. Well done on a great review and your distinguished approach in recognizing this difference.
The good part about Lexus is that they really do have a great price=quality ratio. Unlike other luxury brands... It is also a good thing Lexus doesn't have a ton of options to add on; because they're already included in the sticker price!
I'm not sure why anyone would buy it with that black interior, in the other videos with the tan or blood red interior it looks 1000x better, the black makes everything blend together
Lukas I agree, flashy cars should have flashy colored leather and Alcantara. I've seen other reviews on this car and the comments are that the interior quality is that of a $150- $200k car.
People say "Oh if only it was lighter". You know why it's so heavy? because it's fitted with some thick ass stuff so it doesn't snap over time. Hence why these cars can go a million miles and require nothing but a change oil and some tires.
Greetings Mr, I love your channel, I am a particularly fan of Toyota - Lexus, I have owned many versions of Corollas, 4runners, Hilux, Land Cruisers, Prado, etc. I currently own an old but reliable Corolla 2002 7AFE 1.8 Liter manual transmission for daily use and for off-road adventures and travel a 3-door Prado (better known as "Meru") 2008 2.7 liter 3RZFE manual transmission of which I am the only owner . I know that maybe for the price you can get things faster, but I do not care: I drive several times a RC350 2016 and although the difference in acceleration compared to a 2007 4runner was not so great I found the perfect combination between reliability, maneuverability and luxury ..... the tarantula must exceed all that, it would be an honor to drive it. Congratulations for your channel and thanks for sharing your knowledge
Greg you have a great channel with lots of useful information very educational I think he need to sort it out your microphones in your videos it's either too long or too much background noise or distortion thanks again.
I went to a local Lexus dealer to finalise a deal on a RC and saw a LC500 parked up awaiting a service, that was it cancelled the RC deal and searched the UK Lexus website and found a LC500 Sport + in Sonic red and bought it, at the time it was one of only three new cars available in UK. Had it a month now and absolutely love it.
@@thewholeeventhorizon you're probably right. I did read something like that but there also more used as weekend cars. Porsche or lexus wld be the only way to go .
Great video and review. Love the taillight of that car very unique. Not sure why they even bothered with a backseat and the placement of the clock seemed odd but everything else looks awesome. How long until a used one becomes more affordable?
Exactly. Germans cars do not have reliability. I always said once Lexus gets high performance cars right then combine that with reliability... Lexus can not be stopped
I test drove the LC 500 today and I can tell you that for $100k and 4 seats, I was NOT impressed. Why? 1) Poor resale value 2) No sunroof 3) I hate the Lexus computer Automatic Trans shifter because it physically does not move. Also to park, you have to visually find the P button in the console. Then to put it into drive, I can't feel the D, I have to visually see on the dash that I moved it into P and it's a weird movement in which I have to move the lever left then move it down. 4) No Apple Carplay. 5) If you're gonna have 4 seats, my head should not be hitting the back window. 6) Weird that there's 2 color stitching 7) Cupholder with a water bottle blocks a/c controls 8) Radar detector cord must be long and drag all the way back to the cigarette jack in the center console, just in front of the back seats. 9) No flat bottom steering wheel 10) Getting out of the back seat was almost impossible and I'm 47.
Why are you trolling Lexus so hard. Butthurt I suppose because your favorite car maker didnt build this new bold and innovative car.......So nice that another fanboy got his ass handed to him by Lexus once again. One last thing. Lexus just gave you the big middle finger once again. I mean just look at that spindle grill, look at it in all of it's glory!
What is it? a "super car." how does it corner? "Just perfect." How's the acceleration? "sensational." How's comfort mode? "it becomes a driver's car in a beautiful way." Why are things so great? Because Lexus is great as a brand. And how do we know about reliability in a 2018 new vehicle? Well, Lexus is just amazing so we'll assume it's amazing. Lets not forget he had the car for the day. How do you get a press car for the day? Say nice things to advertise the car/brand. Still love the channel and he has to do what he has to do to make content, but this is an ad. Did you see the criticisms or comparisons to actual competitors? I didn't. Comparing 200-400k cars is praise masquerading as comparison. The Nissan GT-R, Corvette, 911/Cayman, Mercedes AMG GT and Jaguar F-Type are all premium sports cars that compete directly.
$102,000 for a Toyota. I think NOT! Give me a Z06 Vette or something German any day. Sure its a nice car for 60K but six figures for a Japanese car? Unless its made by Nissan, twin turbo and AWD.... no way.
Western cars are junk. The Vette uses pushrods, even lawnmowers now have OHC. German cars self destruct at 60k miles. American cars self destruct at 80k miles.
Philip Rosenthale it looks like you contradicting yourself You say don't make sweeping statements etc But in your original comment you are making a sweeping statement and generalizing. " oh it must be 4wd, turbo blah blah must be nissan" and also you are generalizing on Japanese cars in general by saying I won't pay 6 figures for a Toyota
German cars are so unreliable. The reason, why most used German cars are sold around 100k mileage, is because of warranty. Nobody wants to pay the maintenance fee when they are breaking down so much.
to be honest, i prefer this lc500 than the new nsx
by a mile!!
You sir are one of the few enlightened Americans. Great video

Evan93 I agree. Very enjoyable. I wish Greg would post more videos.
In my British opinion. This has just blown the DB11 and the Mercedes S class coupe out of the water.
Same opinion
S class coupe is simply a better car, Japanese just don't have the experience and know how to beat Mercedes in making grand coupes

It's built in the same plant where the LFA was built, so you know the quality is first class.
You better get one now before Kim nukes the factory.
You mean Kamikaze Kim?
I mean North Korea's fearless leader
Yeah, him. Kamikaze Kim cause he knows if he tries any shit, he's gonna die!

I've watched countless reviews on this car and you hands down have summed up this car beautifully.
You’re one of my favorite reviewer. Great job

You do great work on RUclips, thanks. This car is awesome. WOW!
Considering what the competition costs, this is a bargain!
Its a bargain with a better build quality. People compare the quality of this car to Bentley levels
The solid THUNK of the door closing says it all, 2 door cars always make a clunky sound when you close them.
Awesome great review!!! The tarantula was great 👍

I would *_need_* a car as fast as that LC 500 if I saw that Tarantula.
Great review brother; always appreciate your content! Shalom 🙏🏻
Awesome review to the point, simple and no BS like you said it. I love this car.
Just picked up a convertible in this color amazing
Well done Gregg !! She is a beautiful cat
Oh she is a dance partner for sure!! I own a 2022 black on black performance pack
Why didn't you put the tarantula on the tarantula rear lights?
Stellar Car, only real flaw that is apparent is the back seat. Enjoyed the review Greg.
Steven Segal is doing car reviews.....I love all your movies...hard to kill, out for justice & under siege! 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Car is absolutely amazing! I own an RC-F and love it.....LC 500?......Next time.
Lmaooo, I'm in the exact same situation right now, as much as I adore my RC F, the LC500 is a masterpiece

Love your work ... great job
The chassis on this is apparently stiffer than the lfa
Wow, great review
Better built then any bmw merc Ferrari, Audi , porsche. The best
I wouldn't include Porsche. They've come a long way in reliability and are now getting up there with Lexus.

I own the Infrared with caramel interior, definitely better suited to the design IMO.
Well, whoever thinks I'm just going to use it for 1 day have made a big miscalculation. LOL

What is the colour?
That’s an amazing car 🚘👍 great review/ can you do a review on Lexus isf
Yep, time to trade in the ES300. I'm liking this car.

I have a question,should I buy a 2010 BMW 535i gran turismo?
Twin turbo Land cruiser
if you can work on the car yourself and you enjoy wrenching
No. Those are endless money pits.
Exactly.

Hey what do you think of the Lexus LS430s??
can you tell me what colour that is? I've seen a dark blue one that doesn't look as good as that one. Maybe it's the dark grey (slate)?

Oh you did and thank you
