Damn this hits me hard, I've made the wrong sacrifices and let the snake come in to my life in a heavy way.
Recently made the same mistakes again and I'm just so freaking lost. Really trying to listen to my heart and God and make the right decisions and sacrifices. I've had enough of bitterness, resentment and pain.
Please Lord Jesus Christ help me and please pray for me.
I just want to live a happy life filled with love and joy and connection.
Peace and love to you brother. I have had this feeling as well very recently. Makes it impossible to read the bible or pray in general. I dont know the steps to get out but I will say what worked for me is isolating myself in the woods and trying to spend time with God. Maybe try something similar, I hope everything goes well for you

I did exactly that dalliance in 2016 after something bad happened in my work.
I know now that I invited evil in, I walked through chaos for a few years. But now I am truly trying to open up and allow Jesus in.

Yeshua was trying to have people see himself in them. We all have the "christ" inside of ourselves, it is simply that we must realize it. It's the 'god-spark', it can either be a 'satan' or a 'christ', whichever we make it.
What bad thoughts are we talking about, because sometimes I will have bad thoughts that are far from true. And no matter how much I could “give light to them” or dwell on them that will never make them true. The devil is a liar and deceiver, he can whisper bad thoughts all the time. But I always say these bad thoughts have no Power or control over your life if you are with Christ. Because he is in control.
I dont believe bad thoughts are within, I think they come from Satan, and he tries to convince us they are our own, so we identify with them, and are less likely to eshew them.
The common misconception with the devil is that when he's called the light bringer, people think it means he comes with light.
But it actually means that with shadow, there is light casting that shadow, and shadow begs the light to shine so that shadow can be seen.
The devil wants to be seen and feared, acknowledged, but seen and misunderstood, I think this is exactly why he calls himself the light bringer.
The devil wants your light. He wants to absorb it like the shadow that he is and wants to consume it.
Don't give your light away. Hold onto it. Embrace Christ.
The devil is the master deceiver, he's the master of falsehood, falsehood is the opposite of truth, anything that the devil says is the exact opposite of what is true, so when he or anyone calls him the light bearer, the truth is: he's the darkness bearer, the destoyer, the enslaver.

Bible says to Submit yourself to God and to ( Resist) the Devil. Then he will flee from you.

So i've read up on it a lot.
If the detached state where you still feel all human emotion but are not ruled by them is the godly and divine way of becoming enlightened then Narcissism is the devil's form of "enlightenment".
Detachment is born from embracing the emotions in the present moment. Letting go.
In childhood the narcissist was overwhelmed by emotions so he chose to resist them. Repress them. Not feel them anymore.
Because it was too much to handle.
But not being able to feel such pain anymore came with the price of not being able to feel the most meaningful of emotions either. A deal with the devil.
Like love, connection and empathy.
So when the devil takes away the lows of your experience he also takes away the highs.
Which makes life always feel empty and meaningless.
Hence why the narcissist always needs attention, distraction and sources of pleasure.
My point is that accepting pain is the godly way and resisting pain is the devil's way.
Narcissists are never at peace so the devil's way is a bad way of living and only useful for survival. The narcissist is dead inside.
Only the godly way leads to a life of living in congruence with truth and peace.
Only the godly detached mode of being leads to a fountain of life inside full of meaning, joy and connection.
The narcissist has no light within, only unbearable darkness.
So he tries to steal your light by making you reactive.
Succesfully controlling others gives him temporary relief from his unbearable darkness.
He feels alive through control. Because he has struck a deal with the devil.
So you are right, narcissists are of the devil.
They believe in a construct called the false self, which is a lie.
And thus a rejection of god.
They couldn't handle the suffering in their childhood so they rejected god and embraced the devil.
Dr. Peterson ought to write Bible commentaries, or extant Bible commentaries concerning certain Bible passages, such as this one. Stuff like this really helps.
The worst of giving a way to the devil is that in that story Cain could have spent time with his brother Abel, learning from him, that was God's gift to him, but because he caved in to resentment the opposite of what was meant to be happened. The destruction of beauty happened.
That's why I feel the whole emotional charge whenever reading Psalms 6, 38, 71, here's an extract of the first one. Sinning is the destruction of beauty, and I hope never to be so blind I cannot see it nor understand it.

This is how I know. As I get older. I'm 27. I grew up in one of the meanest generations of American kids, and it's only getting worse. I grew up feeling and almost knowing there is more evil than good in this world.
The good is quality over quantity, and the evil is many but weak, and is only as strong as it's weakest link.
I realized that going against the grain of all people in the world is mercy and forgiveness, TRUE EMPATHY. TRUE COMPASSION. Not what the democrats call empathy and niceness or kindness. It's a kind of Love that only christ can give.
Good. Jesus Christ. will always be the underdog at the end of the day, who rises above all adversity(satan) and wins all of our hearts in the end.
Christ was always against the grain, he still is.
If you think Christians make Christ part of the grain just because Christianity had been prevalent in the west so much for so long, you are a fool and mistaken.
For even Christians can be misled and taught to be evil, even Christians can be going against Christ and not even know it, or care to know it. If the devil himself, the greatest angel made by God could fall from grace, so could you at any waking moment.
But Ive realized, Christ was against the grain explicitly for his mercy and forgiveness, which Cain was exactly against.
Abel was Christ, Isaac was Christ, and Cain and Ishmael was Judas, Cain was particularly Judas. Cain betrayed Judas, and Ishmael persecuted and mocked Isaac the same way Judas did to Christ, and Christ was on the altar just like Isaac.
Christ is the slayer of adversity, because he is the answer to all of it, and so many people lack the answer, most people do.
Brother!! Haha I'm glad you can see. I'm with you I've come to the same realizations, so to speak. I myself fell from grace. It was insane my friend. When I truly embraced the presence of God and people started to noticed..shit got real real weird. The devil could no longer speak to me through my own thoughts. So he came through others. I then freaked out when even my family turned on Me. I seen a fraction a tiny decimal of what christ really went through, and I ran[fell]. I'm now in darkness, yet my mind still retains the knowledge I saw when I ascended. My "shadow" is back and I'm again wrongfully identified with ego. It's alot knowing how super corrupt the world is that if you embrace spirit truly, you go through so of the toughest trails. That's why I hesitate to make my way back to heaven. Delusional.
I tell you my story in hopes you can understand. I'm wise enough to know it's kinda pointless, but you know how lonely it can be I don't have anyone to talk to about these things. If I had a sangha I'm certain I'd be brave enough to ascend once more through the grace of the divine of course.

Oh my goodness, I didn’t realize how important it is to me to have that whole concept put into words. I knew the scripture and lived with the reality but this truly secures the correct path in my mind. Ann Voskamp says to “name” each thing you are thankful for by writing it down on a list. It’s just as important to never give a “name” to our unregenerate thoughts (thoughts springing out of self pity, envy, bitterness, competitiveness, pride ect). Evil is waiting for it….learning.

This is amazing. The Nazis were frustrated after WW1 due to inflation, oppression, poverty, post war trauma, etc. So many of them allowed bitterness and resentment to fill their thoughts, which brought sin to knock at their doors. They nurtured this and got creative with it creating the best weapons of war for their descendants to use, for rebellion and power seeking destruction. They then killed their own country brothers as an escape goat and the world was not prepared for it.
Abel was not prepared for it. He did not know he was going to die.
He died but at the end Abel's descendants got to beat Cains descendants with the help of god.

There is at all times inside all of us - a battle between good and evil. Every thought, word, action dictates which way the pendulum swings. Upbringing etc can have powerful early ramifications on this of course. Personally i believe no matter how far we go astray we can be forgiven, god forgives all. Don't give into temptation, desire and evil easily. We as humans are sinful by nature but it's our jobs, particularly as humans in the current age of advancement to keep the bad at bay by all means necessary. Personal experience and study has taught me this, bottom line - believe what you want to believe, just don't harm others and do as you'd be done by. There is too much evil in the world to be crushed by it - be the light, be the change you wish to see in the world but above all else - be yourself and don't be an arseh***.

He explained what occurs when one allows envy or jealousy inside of themselves. Cain knew he didn't give his best and became disappointed and then angry when he wasn't praised for it. Then, he became jealous of his brother for doing what was right. He allowed that resentment to grow instead of learning from the lesson and made it worse by murdering his brother. The point is to not let it in and that's anger. Once you let it in, you're inviting the other evil ideas and thoughts and that's what comes from the devil.

I generally agree with Dr JP; in this case I dissent.
The reason for destructive tendencies is not rejected sacrifices. Our own awareness of offering second class sacrifices diminishes us. The bitter resenment is a consequence of the Original Sin that left an indeleble mark...we also call it Concupicence; thus the need to clean ourselves with Baptismal Waters as soon as we are born.
I respectfully disagree. I think original sin is a doctrine from hell. God is our creator, so how could be born in sin. We enter this world as perfect creatures still bearing all the light from heaven. This concept created by the church, to make humans enslaved to religeon, is a damning one. Jesus Christ is meant to be our intercessor, not the church. The church is only helpful when it represents God's truth. When it manufactures doctrines to serve the institution, it cuts itself off from the vine. If the church thinks its more important than God, it turns people away from God. Original sin a principle of hell. People should get baptized when they can make a conscious choice. Baptism is an ordinance to recieve the companionship of the Holy Ghost. It is evil to suggest a miscarriage means a child will go to hell, or SIDS, or anything that delayed baptism. There were nuns at a Catholic school, who severly beat the children in thier charge. They took irons an burned the back of thier knees, so the would bow. They reasoning original sin justifies. They beating out the inherent sin of children. I think this doctrine is pure evil, it is a misunderstanding of God world. When in Malachi it says that Elijah will return to turn the hearts of the children to the fathers, why would he do that if thier parents were inherently evil? To say someone is born evil is extremely damaging to thier spiritual well being. It makes them think they have no choice but to sin. If you teach people correctly that they are a creation of thier father. That means there created out of perfection, and sin is something external that blocks light within. It something we need to avoid externally. It comes from Satan, who does not live within us and has no power unless we give it to him. We not Satan's creation.

Having more empathy and compassion. But returning to being something "you are not" is hard once the heart and mind are in a different place. Kindness needs to be improved as well. I forgive myself, but I also forgive others. Plus, I do not always have to be in a state of anger or resentment; that is for people who are sick and can't figure out why they are always sad, resentful, or angry. Not my problem. I can let go and put it to rest by recalculating my mind and changing my thinking. The best part is to let go of my feelings and thoughts. You can restructure your mind like driving a car automatically to change your thinking. We are not living in a circumference of cycles; we can ignore the cycle of negativity and stupidity and generate a new cycle of positivity where your mind and heart are at peace all the time, there is no need to upset any organs in your body due to a person, it is not worth it, at the end everything will balance out and life fixes itself, even when we get involve or not.
i cannot ignore the cycle of what seems like truth; misery, depravity, hatred, resentment and agonising bitterness. To ignore feels like to betray whats right.

Abel offered a blood sacrifice, but Cain refused and gave vegetables. Blood represents redemption, a biblical principle established by the Lord in the Garden of Eden when after Adam sinned, God made "coats of skin", ie.he killed a lamb and put the bloody skin on their shoulders to represent judgement/redemption. That lesson would obviously have been passed to Adam's sons. Abel complied, Cain refused, and that's why God rejected his bloodless offering. The blood of course representing the death of Jesus, the "Lamb slain from the foundation of the world"

what do i do when im so infatuated with rebellion and resentment. It seems like the right response to the horror of existence and i feel resentment towards those who would choose otherwise. Because they seem blindly optimistic and ignorant of reality. What do i do with myself when im this degenerate and bitter at God and life. I dont want to go to hell. Im so scared. I want to love, but bitterness and resentment are the only logical conclusion i can draw from my experience with reality. I think im too far gone. Read the ten commandments, think about the ones you have broken, read the new Testament in the bible about what Jesus did for you to have your sins forgiven. then repent of your sins in prayer, ask Jesus to save you. Read a little of the bible every day. Praying for you.

Jordan Peterson may be the smartest man alive. And I'm glad he uses his intellect for the better good. But, while being intellectlectual, clever, and thoughtful is great, simply being, thinking, and, most importantly, acting goodly is best.
Genetically, I feel as though Dr. Peterson is intrigued by such a question.
It's hard to hear with the music
I have OCD. OCD makes you have intrusice thoughts all day long. You become desensitized, acustomed to the thoughts and OCD is a mimic illness. It mimics what you fear would be.
So if anyone fears hurting a member of their family with a knife, well, be prepared to feel real blood in your hand and a (false) urge to stab them. (Harm OCD)
If anyone has Pedophilia OCD, well, get ready to feel groinal responses when you see a child, arousal and "good feelings" mixed with anxiety and the feeling that is an illusion that feels 100% real (which it is). Same for sexual orientation OCD.
The thing is for example, I've read many post about a person having for example, Homosexual OCD and they start at one point in their life liking the thoughts, liking mentally kissing or having "sex" with a person of the same sex.
So giving light to thoughs definetly creates a neural pathway that at the same time, can be debilitates by acceptance and ignoring, "curing" people from the OCD created feelings, or if the person doesn't have OCD is the same way.

In the story, does Cain get any empathy?
Maybe that could have changed things.
Maybe this story is not about the recognition of hurt, but more about the judging part of God.

The D whispers in your ear and he's much more clever than any human. He was originally made by God remember. Free will and righteousness can't be undone so God has allowed this.
If the devil takes the light, it’s because God allowed it.. that the devil is infinitely more powerful than any human.. so when we face the devil and it’s minions onslaught we are alone.. I know from experience that the forces that oppress from that realm are strong and persistent.. rendering a mere human to weakness.. it seems God doesn’t act or can’t.. we are doomed to feel the forces of negativity when we pray against it ineffectively. I hate this so much because I thought love was the ultimate force.. unstoppable, immovable and also supported by the supreme Godhead in this reality… I don’t understand when one’s heart is set on good and wanting to do good but up against persistent and numerous opponents… WTF!? We don’t have a chance do we? I keep try and will but in no way will I willingly let the devil take ground from me, I oray God looks into my heart and soul and sees something worth using Gods infinite and omnipotent capabilities to help me do something great and helpful to my fellow man and humanity.. and not at the cost of my life.. like an artist who’s work is only valuable after their death…sucks

Thought repression doesn't work. As much I respect Jordan, he gets the story of Genesis a little off.
It was Cain's pride that God rejected and not the "quality" per say.
This is important because it grounds your understanding what is your sense of agency.
You are called by Jesus and become TRANSFORMED. This will win bad thoughts in the long run.
We are not called to moral reformation, but spiritual transformation of the Holy Spirit. A spiritual death will create Godly desires.
And in them there is no resistance, no struggle, but a a natural desire to do do what is Godly.
Cain voluntarily failed because he would not submit or yield.
Submission to our Heavenly Father is perfect and the best for us as individuals….then a society. Please please believe this.
