Wow, I'd given up on this function on my pedal because I could not work it out, and in just a few short minutes you have opened up a whole new world for me. Thank you.
This is most excellent I was in Ireland in September and noticed a lot of acoustic players using a stomp box of some sort this defiantly captures that sound !!! Thanks I will try it and great song as well ! Cheers
hahaaaaaaaa nice job!! Just 2 days ago I was lock-in out like a lost cat in various shops to get a gear for street music....here it is with my RC500 thanks to u!!!
Hi JeeWee, dank voor je videos! Ik zal verder gaan in Engels ;-). Thanx for the videos about the RC -500. I got myself a RC-500 since last week, and just playing with it to see what it can do. Your videos are very helpful. Next step I have to make is to set this up with my Boss GT-1000. But there are some issues. My GT-1000 is connected with 2 XLR cables to the FOH and with 1 jack cable to my Headrush 108 FRFR on stage monitor. So the FOH gets a stereo signal from my GT-1000 and I have myself a mono signal through my Headrush on stage. This allows me to adjust the volume on stage of my Headrush without effecting the FOH volume. Very useful. But... if I want to bring in the RC-500? Where to put it? Best for me should be that my guitar signal is first going through my RC-500, and then to my GT-1000 because then I can keep my FOH and stage setting as it is. But when my guitar goes first through the RC-500, and then through my GT-1000,.. I think I cannot use the GT-1000 effects anymore ... I guess. Or, maybe make a Send/Return loop in my GT-1000? DO you have any advice for me? Thanx in advance.
Graag gedaan jongen! My suggestion would be to put the RC500 in the effects loop of the GT1000. Like that, you can keep your output routing as it is to FOH and your monitors. Key is to put the loop after your guitar amp modelling to prevent unwanted distortion in the drum sounds and stacked loops.
Like you asked at 1:07, I'm doing my part in hopes you make more videos like this. I've liked this video, subsribed to the channel, and this is my comment.
This is Great! Looking for this same functionality but in a stand-alone pedal. Does anyone know if such a thing exists? something that does Just the bass drum sound, that I can tap tempo to get it started. then Hold to stop? that would be Super simple and handy. Maybe a DIY project...
I am not aware of any tap tempo foot stomp devices in the market. I have been using an acoustic stomp box for ages, but this is very hard to combine with a looper.
@@JeeWeeDonkers only bit I don’t quite understand is how to set the rhythm 2 - I want it to be just without the snare and bass drum just hi hat or shaker :)
So in addition to assigning different functions to the foot switches, you can assign more than one function per footswitch? Is two functions the limit, or can you do more?
It's awesome!! I just bought the RC-500. One question, I don't know much since I'm new on this. How do I save this settings? Bevause when I switch to another memory, it's gone and I already did your video instructions twice! LoL!!
It's simple: once you're satisfied with the settings you have, press write (exit + enter together) and choose the memory location where you want to save the patch.
Thank you very much! I checked the user's manual and I found it on page 10. Is there a way though, instead of saving in memory 1 for example the patch for a 4/4 rythm, then doing the same procedure in memory 2 for a 3/4 and so on, to copy and paste and just change the time signature in every memory I want to use?
Hi Jeewee😊 do you have a Way to stop track but not the drums. As a livemusician it could be Nice to let the drums play when stop the Tracks Your Channel make lot of inspiration to do live performance. Thanks
You can. Select RHYTHM (long press), then scroll to STOP and select OFF. To stop (and start) your rhythm track, you may want to assign a dedicated switch.
Can I route just the drums to my studio monitors so they aren’t going through my guitar cabinet? I have the powered monitors hooked up to my audio interface. Thank you.
Yes you can. Long press Input and choose output A or B for all different inputs and Rhythm. You can rout it pretty much anything you like. Attention: The routing of the recorded loops can be selected from the Track 1 and 2 menus.
This was helpful. Thanx. Does this looper have an auto correct feature so it knows when the end of a measure is In case u dont hit the button to stop rec/play at the exact right moment ?
Thanx for the info and quick reply. So I would only need to set the loop to stop at the end of a measure right ? and how do i do that ? and would it keep that setting for all loops after that ?
@@icu469 select TRACK 1/2 - STOP and select LOOP END. Settings are memory specific, so copy the settings to an empty memory patch before recording new tracks.
You can fade out a loop by choosing the Track (1 or 2) scroll to STOP and select FADE OUT. The amount of measures of the fade out can be set via MEMORY - PLAY - FADE TIME. Before starting a new loop the old one (including tempo) needs to be cleared, you can do that with holding the stop button for two seconds. In this foot stomp setup this is not necessary, you just tap the new tempo and then start the rhythm.
Hi , thanks for your amazing video, however I am having a small problem. I have followed and programmed as per your video several times but my results are incorrect. When I press rec/play I get the kick drum part, but when I press stop I get parts 1 and 2 if the canon, but at a reduced volume instead of increased....any advice please ? Many thanks .Andy
This might have to do with the volume settings of the rhythm.I have experienced this in similar ways. The volume value is an absolute value, not a percentage. If your standard level is 50, then the boosted level should be 80 or so. If however your rhythm level is normally set at 100, switching to 80 will give you a volume drop. So check you normal rhythm volume and boost volume settings carefully.
@@JeeWeeDonkers hi thanks for the reply. I think I have sorted a work around. After saving all of the settings to a patch, for some reason the volume of the kick only has gone to 68. So after starting the patch I re adjusted the rhythm level to 50 and re saved, this has solved the issues. 😎
That's funny.. in the Menu - Control settings you can set the global settings per button, or prefer the seting per memory. I wouldn't expect that to interfere. Perhaps if you reset the button functions to the system defaults first, then set the preference to Memory, it wil solve your problem.
I tried this already :( maybe i'll do a factory reset, but i work with the rc-500 mostly as a backing track player so i don't want to program all again.

Boss offers the RC600 with six track looping. But then again, how many bridges do you play in a song? Enough to have to record and play them back? I usually record/play a verse and a chorus and play the bridge (usually one per song) live, either with or without a rhythm part from the drum machine. This will get you through 99% of live looping songs.
I have a question regarding my RC 500 I’m not sure where to turn , you seem to be pretty knowledgeable about the 500. my issue is it occasionally, randomly scrolls up to the next memory in the middle of a session .. for the life of me I can’t figure out why it happens.. it only seems to happen when I hit the record/play button… It usually happens when I’ve laid down the verse and the chorus and I’m switching between the two.. any thoughts?
