That BMW 2002tii is incredible and brought back memories. I had one that I had started restoring but had to give up due to cash flow, and losing storage/work space. Mine was a 1972 in Inka Orange. It is fun that you pointed out the tail lights, the most desirable 2002's were the "Roundies" which for the 2002tii was only the model years 1971, 1972, and 1973.
It's an early US spec 2002, tii never made it to north America they were bosch Mechanical fuel injection for US market on all 2002s , virtually every German car had Bosch Mechanical injection in 70s, in North America the entry level model Mk1 Golf's were 1800cc with bosch Mechanical injection, in Europe we got 1100cc carb model entry level.
I've taken on 3 similarly abandoned projects. One was an old Ducati so a fraction of the work. They are the hardest to come to terms with selling. I never go the money back that I put in, but those 3 vehicles are now in the hands of true enthusiasts, so I feel I did my part for motoring history keeping them alive.
I reckon a Jag resto would be great. There's enough there to build a good one. Shame to see so many great cars and a lovely house rotting away. Thanks for showing us around!
Every single one of them will have rotted in all the same places. Doubt you could make half a decent one from what’s is there. A crying shame for sure.
That was an amazing walk. The volume of cool cars was surreal. It killed me that you flashed one car on camera and never went near it again. Out of all of those cars, the one I would take got like .5 seconds of screen time. The orange Opel Kadett Rallye with the black hood stripes! I want to see it! My first car was a 1972 Opel Kadett 2-door wagon. 4 on the floor 1.9L with a Weber carb. It was a simple and fun machine. Mine was a hand me down, after my older brother crashed it lightly and got a different car. I put a fender on it, straightend it out, and it was mine! That would have been 1990. As a kid, I always wished I had the rare Kadett Rallye model. But I was still super happy with what I had. I got a free 1974 Dodge Dart 4-door, and started driving it more. It was a quiet cush cruiser with A/C and it held 6 people, which was handy in high school. The Opel got sold to someone I knew, and they proceeded to destoryed it. Black rattle can paint, cut exhaust, and then he ran it out of oil and killed it. Don't sell cars to people you know, so you don't have to see their death.
@@Ratarossa And??? I'll watch it I just found your channel and have a quiet few days To binge watch ALL your excellent footage. Now at 19.39 in the video. While you were faffing around with that Landrover. In the background is this amazing shaped silver car, I'm amazed that with that (personal feelings here) a very ordinary Landrover ( I'm from NZ, and there's millions of them here) you didn't notice it or go to have a look. Or its a common car. I have a very long and interesting weekend ahead of me... It's Great cold beer and Ferrari's.. What more could you want at 67 years on this planet. 🍺🍺🍺🍺
@@Ratarossa I would've watched all day if you do a live stream from that location mate. I just can't believe how majestic those oldies are, even in this deteriorated condition.
Those 2 Volvo's look to be ones sold in Japan. RHD models with KM on the speedo, and the bumper ariel is so you know where the end of the car is, and is so 90s Japan. Plus they love a crown on a logo over there. We get lots of that type of spec cars here in NZ, but you never see their Volvo's coming here as they are too expensive to service and get parts for
I enjoy that multiple cars I own were there. 1982 VW Vanagon 1972 Mercedes 250 (The 2002 isn't quite the same but I have a 1989 BMW 325I E30) Very cool finds and I would revive them immediately if I had a chance
Still watching the video (only about 7 min in), but the 2002 tii, the Mercedes W114/W115 behind it and the Jensen are all US-spec cars. You can see the NHTSA/DOT mandated (as of 1967) sidemarker lights on the front and rear quarter panels of all three cars. So the mileage on that 2002 was indeed in miles, not kilometers. Edit: Aside from the Chevy C10, other US-spec cars are popping up as I continue to watch. The TR6 and the Jensen behind it are US-spec. In fact, the poor rotten orange Jensen still has its Arizona plate. Pulled from dry and sunny Arizona to rot in the UK, sadly. The black Mercedes ponton at 17:00 is also a US-spec car (LHD plus all red taillights)
The front marker lights would support that assumption ; but actually European Pontons had all red tail lights as mine does ( and I'm only the third owner ) as indeed did early Fintails since the requirement for Amber indicators only came in around 1964 ; this one having Amber indicator lenses suggest they have been changed since they normally came with white ones , but many owners retrofitted the Amber ones for better visibility .
the golf gti is irish reg but is more than likely an original uk car as we changed to them reg plate styles in 1987 so that was imported into ireland 2nd hand
For every inch of rust you can see there is 1 foot of rust you can’t see…….scrap metal and spare parts are all those are good for i fear. Especially sad to see an XJ 6C one of my all time favorite beautiful cars.

the 2002 or the daimler coupe, one of my favourite cars ever. As for the house, forget it being any sort of fun adventure, i've been restoring mine for 7 years and i'm poor and sick of it ! 🙂

Very cool, I would restore the Opel GT but those Jags really would be cool to do as well.😊

02 er BMW. Great Car. LOVE it.
That old Honda is cool too. A couple of my friends had blue ones. I love the small cars!
Love the Opel GT and the BMW 2000
When someone say. " They plan on restoring it at some point" General means it will never happen..
I have experience with that LOL
Too bad he didn't give it to Scott to restore.
Yea and they won't sell it. Madness
You are soooo correct fella 👍
Some one needs to start applying for log books for these cars!
One of those S90s would be my pick. Absolute tank of a car, and fully loaded with absolutely everything you could get on a car in the 90s.
The old BMW !!!!! Look like an amazing project
Love to see that golf restoration and the van
Nice one Scott, that Jag coupe is cool too!! 😍
