My dad would be 73. We lost him a couple of years ago. I think about him often while I'm out filming. I started my channel last summer because I enjoyed going and seeing these places so much. I know he would have loved to have gone along with me. Things have changed way too much unfortunately. I sometimes think I was born in the wrong time! Thank you for the comment. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos!

Chevy Vega was designed with a 4 cylinder 140 cubic inch aluminum engine. 1 bbl carb standard. GT model had a 2 bbl carb. Pistons and rings were cast steel which wore out the aluminum cylinder walls after 40k miles and it would start to smoke like a mosquito fogger truck in July! GM issued a recall finally and they would replace your bad engine free but with the same faulty engine block. Some guys would cut out the fender wells and drop a small block 350 V8 in them. Instant drag strip sensation! Until the drive train came apart anyway! lol
Hot Rod mag had its share of modified Vegas in the 70’s.
Ford had its Pinto, AMC had its Gremlin, and Chevy had its Vega. I chose poorly.
Even worse is that I sold my Red 64 Ford Fairlane 260-V8 to buy the Vega. All my Ford needed was a $400 engine rebuild.
Hindsight is a cruel teacher for sure. 🙄

Look at the right side of the brake pedal. If it is real well worn. It's a hundred thousand. If it is not,it's the car's original miles.

Classics are so much better in my opinion. Right away at the beginning...that Maverick...INSTANT high school flashback. Classmate had a white one. Then..."UHOH!" LOL! That 1980 Mustang. Another classmate had one of those. BUT...Not exactly "responsible" with it. One day in Anchorage, AK. he tried to go around a 20 MPH curve at 80. He didn't make it. End result: Guy wire basically cut the motor mount on one side, took out half of a row of trees and a fence before ending up coming to rest in their front yard. Everyone walked away from the thing but hindsight being 20/20 on a subsequent visit...Well, let's just say there was LOTS of eye-rolling and the most common question was, "KIDDING, RIGHT??????"

There is a lot I could comment about the cars since I've been around all of them. I will say you are right about the trunk dcks on those cars. The 59.& 60 Belair/Impala lids in good condition are very hard to find. An easy way to tell if it's a Belair or Impala is the taillights for 1960: the Impala has 3 lights/side and the Belair has 2/side; like the one you found.

Thanks for the info! Yeah I'm finding out that a lot of the old cars share the same body. They just changed the name of the car with different option packages. There's definitely a lot of rare parts in that yard!

I hear you! Those cars are absolutely massive. My dad had one when I was a kid and so did my great granddaddy. I drove one in my late teens as well. It was very quiet and floated over any bumps.

That 66 two door Ford with the 428 is rare.. Hint a way to tell the 50'scars..if they have 4 headlamps they are 58's or newer...in most cases.

Lol. Am I supposed to leave them at home? Or not let them be a part of my videos with cars in them? Girls like classic cars too! One of them installed a lighting control module in a town car this week. And the other one has been under dozens of cars with me assisting me while I put in engines and transmissions. It's not like they're posing on the cars in bikinis. But you are right girls do get clicks. My channel, with as much work as we put into it, cannot compete with a 30 second clip of a girl in a bikini. It is definitely frustrating but that's the way the world works!
