- Million Dollar Junkyard full of classic cars for sale in Alabama! This small town family junkyard closed in 1979 in north Alabama. Hundreds of classic cars from the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s were collected by the Brooks family as a hobby/family junkyard. Initially, the junkyard was a joint venture by two brothers. The family has decided to sell off the cars. It was not an easy decision. For years they were unable to call the recycler to scrap out the place because the cars have too many memories. The day they never thought would come is here. All the cars and trucks, muscle cars, rare wagons, and convertibles must go!
DETAILS: CARS ONLY, NOT LAND
If you decide to buy or make an offer, there is one catch. The $1M buys just the cars. You will have six months to move them out. After six months a rental fee will be charged to the buyer if all cars not removed. Also, seller says that you may not run a business out of the property. Using the property as a car lot to sell off the vintage vehicles is not an option.
Buy them all, move them and do what you want. The seller knows it will be an involved process. Trees will have to be cut down to avoid damaging the cars during removal. Final negotiations will be worked out with Frank who is featured in the video. Send me an email with your contact info.

Like most people that have a Junkyard as a hobby, They waited 30 or 40 years to long to decide to sell. Now most way to far gone, lucky to get a few parts off each. I Bet there are 6 - 8 cars as whole that could be Restored, and if Done Right...Thats more money than the Car is worth. He needs to Re-think the Value of rough Parts Cars. Good luck!
...or best offer. Somebody, somewhere in this big old world might give him a decent amount. Not you, huh? ;)
Waited too long for all that to go to waste. I mean, what a waste I don’t care if you had 10 cars in the same kind of cars wouldn’t be worth it to put them together. Those cars are just too far gone.
This is a sin! I hate to say this but he may do better selling as scrap
At 56:33 that sticker was from pep boys
Very much agree everything is pretty much gone back to which it came from 😢
Unfortunately, there is nothing but scrap there now. I would drive by places like this 40 years ago looking for parts, but the answer I usually got was "I'm going to do something with them one day". Sad part is, most of those cars are still sitting there completely rusted away. Good intentions, but no real plan to do anything with them. Thanks for the video
That price tag is the sentimental value sadly
You'd have to either buy or lease the land in order to do it right. It would cost a million to move all that crap.
Unbelievable. His Dad in not selling anything for 40 years, and then him thinking the cars his father ruined are worth Hundreds of thousands of dollars. Sometimes I believe people holding onto cars are what kept them from being crushed long ago, but most of these cars are almost just as bad off now than if they had been crushed 40 years ago.
It's truly sad to see this. He said he would give 6 months to get them all gone, well, think about the time and money it will take just to remove them from the property. It would take multiple months, working 40 hours a week, just to get them all gone. Have to cut down trees, have a rollback, oh, and the new owner would have to have their own place to put them all. Its just not going to happen. What I see happening, is if they truly want them all gone, he will have to give the cars away to a scrap yard if they can justify that the scrap value is higher than the amount of time and effort it will take to clear the property. What a sad headache and nightmare this man's father left his family to have to deal with. I knew a gentleman who had a huge outdoor collection of vehicles in PA, 300-400 cars, but he at least had a huge public auction and sold off everything that his family didnt want to keep before he passed away.
His dad did sell things of value like the caddy motor with 2 4bbls. Not much of value now .
there was a junkyard like this up behind where my wife grew up. Went there once or twice and when you asked about a price they would say "we're not one of those yards with a price list ! You show us what you want and then we can decide on a price" Usually it was way too high. The owner died and his family could not afford the taxes on the land so a developer bought it for dirt cheap and SCRAPPED every vehicle on the property !
They are worth hundreds of thousands in steel prices alone
This is a monumental job
Read the comments they are spot on just an auction itself would be huge amount of work clearing trees etc
Grew up with an old guy like this, wouldnt sell a bolt from one! Old man passed son & Grandson junked it ALL ! A Dam Shame it was ! 😔
Poor old guy is a dreamer. I wouldn't take any of those cars for free.
I didn't see one usable panel or interior in the whole video. Looks like a giant scrap job.
Someone can’t do body work
A few, not many.
@@user-fr8io8jw5zLOl😂😂.. That guy saying 65 k miles like it matters.
@@thelasthope9673 bc you know nothing about classic cars🫵😭
@@thelasthope9673 bc you know nothing about classic cars🫵😭
The best offer will have fewer zeros in it. I recommend doing a no reserve auction then scrap the rest.
bingo
Auction salvage rights at the end.
@@jasonlusk838wheres the car titles? This old man is off his meds
Watches Barrett Jackson once…
1 MILLLLION dollars
Unfortunately old timer waited to long to sell. It’s beyond salvage. Scrap at this point 😢
Plus the cost to move all of it in this economy 😵💫 sheeew
Colossal task..
I couldn't continue watching after 5 minutes, total scrap!
Back in the 70's junk yards were where you always went for parts when the parts stores said they could get the part in a week or so, because you needed the car for your job. The junk yard always had the part. There was always a car like yours there and most of them still had parts on them. They were a life saver.
Is that true?
The problem with older cars now is that...parts only has value to the right person. I can't tell you the cars I see driving around that could benefit from a junkyard part here and there. Usually when they get to that , the owner doesn't give a shit anymore and doesn't have the know how to do anything.
This guy is dreaming...he should have sold everything 40 years ago, now most of the cars are too rough to save...all of those leaves hold moisture and rot them out... time to roll in the portable car crusher.
They weren't his to sell. His dad owned the place up until he passed a few years ago. Sometimes you gotta play the hand you are dealt.
40 years ago most of it wasn't worth much. In 1985 I had a nice 64 Chevelle SS conv. that had some chassis rot and the most I could for it at the time was $175.00 plus a nice 61 bubble top Impala with no engine and minor floor rot I ended giving away because it didn't sell even for $150.00. These cars started to climb in value in the last 25 years.
@@Junkyardlife yup its very sad for sure what happen to the cars.now this old guy thinks he got gold and they will rot away just like his dad did until he dies, then the next person will prob just junk them!!!sad but true!!
Most of these cars 40 years ago was just old cars kinda how 90s cars are today he wouldn't Have got much for them 40 years ago alot of these cars are rare now some of thre obscure stuff are expensive to find parts for I've seen front grills sale for a couple grand
@@Junkyardlifethat’s very true…
A junk yard in the woods .
its like a graveyard
The leaves are like metal eating termites.
Not much good out there
most should buff out with some 3m polishing compound 😂😂😂
@Mrgoodpliers calls those termites the "Tin Worms"
lets not forget about the cost of moving all of that junk
That man is dreaming. I dont think the value of the scrap would be enough to cover hauling the stuff off to recycler.
He's selling these cars as if they just rolled off of the showroom floor.
His best bet would be to have the crusher come in and clean that place up. Cherry pick the few good cars and put them for sale on marketplace.
Almost all those cars are beyond restoration. Use your eyes. Too little too late.
Im glad people can dream , ,,,it would take 6 months just to clear the trees ,,,and the cost would out weigh the prize ,,,,GOOD LUCK BUD
He should have sold them for scrap when it was 15 cents a pound.
He’ll end up doing the old car city photography stuff that’s about all that worth pictures. Some of that stainless steel trim stuff maybe but a lot of companies don’t make all that stuff brand new. Just go with the crusher do your thing.
Scrap
No way is that stuff worth a million dollars just the work alone to get that moved unless you have moved a lot of cars out of the woods and areas like this you have no idea the amount of work an equipment it's going to take
I was thinking the same. 1 mil??? Wtf is he smoking?😂
Wow, theyre rough AND beat up AND picked through!
Some parts added to scrap value, plus the scrapper has to get a margin out off it as well.
350-500 for each unit plus 10k then that might work out!
At best...
The work it's gonna take to get em all out. I'd say 100 a car and you still won't break even
Should be a museum ,,,it's not worth anything , but reminiscing is always fun . I was raised in a junkyard in chartuckey Michigan,,,fun times
No way someone is going to pay a million bucks, the contents of this yard have been severely neglected, most barely even parts cars. The owners best chance at getting much of anything is to have an auction. The logistics nightmare, liability and cost to move all of this junk far outweighs what little monetary value of the mere handful of vehicles that may be able to be saved. Another prime example of the "I know what I got" mentality. What a waste!
Here I'll start it off. $3500 for everything. He started about 25 years too late.
That's a high starting bid lol
More than I'd give
A million dollars…lol…
He needs to auction that junk. There's plenty of people with more money then brains but there only gonna buy one or two at a time.
For someone who cared so much about cars really didn’t care about cars he will need to pay someone 1 million to take them out of there
The guy is dreaming if he thinks those rusted craps of heap are anywhere near worth $1M. You would go to drag them out and the cars/trucks would just disintegrate lol
For $1M that would be 1000 $1000 cars. I didn't see 1000 cars here, and very few that would be worth $1000. He's dreaming.
Off his meds. No engines, no titles, all don't run.
It's a twisted, wrecked , jacked up , Rusted , broken glass , parts missing ,Rat infested , parts you could never find , pile of iron ore !
It takes a special kind of person to buy a new Thunderbird and beceause of mechanical issues park it in the woods to get the pleasure of watching it rot ! 😮
Very cool video and tour! Sadly, majority of these are too far gone and either scrap or cut into wall art/furniture. There's definitely some valuable parts out there though. Huge and expensive undertaking on top of buying them out. Best of luck!
Call the crusher !!!! Those cars would be hard to move without breaking apart, it's a real shame they waited so long to sell them. Maybe some stainless trim is salvageable but that's about it
A lot of people out there with projects sitting waiting for parts They can't get anymore that would kill to get in there.
Best offer for iron ore !
I think he's got a better chance at selling those bottles before he does those cars as a whole. I think others have nailed what's gonna happen. He'll pass one day and his family will have it all junked. He's holding onto memories, which are priceless to him. He's just throwing a crazy number out there because he knows no one will give it to him. But, now he can justify that he "tried to save them". Unfortunately, maybe 10% of that is worth anything, while the rest lost complete value/worth over the last 45 years of direct weathering.
My daddy always said “ If your gonna dream , DREAM BIG”
Sad to see old cars being reclaimed by the land . That was a field turned forest in 50 years
We had a property near us, like this, in Ohio-Camaros, Mustangs, Chevelles, many of them convertibles, all rusted into the ground and totally worthless. The owner left a huge clean up responsibility -sad :(
What.A.Fucking.Shame
Min. 36.10. This is a german Ford Taunus 15m DeLuxe, 1955-1959. And 1.02 This is a Simca 1000, early Modell.
Imagine how good a shape it was all in in 1979
it's nice that places like this still exist...those parts need to be salvaged soon before it is impossible.
I like how he carefully parked them right in a tree
Waited too long unfortunately, they’re beyond long gone.
Best of luck. Hope some extra cool parts are found.
Makes you sick to look at now. What does this guy think is going to be done with them now? There's nothing left to work with.
What a shame to see such a thing, this guy would be further ahead to open the yard up to a pick & pull and salvage what little is left there, which is not much at all. Good Luck In your quest.
Wow that’s sad to see all those old classics ruined…
1 MILLION and we come down from there , i like this guy , maybe 30 years ago prolly save something there , all gone now looks like
I look at it from this aspect of old car motoring. How many 4 door cars do you see at your local Cars & Coffee? In this video 90% are 4 doors. Much less that they are so far gone. Like most comments, should have sold 20 years ago.
Unfortunately, all that is salvageable is the glass and some trim from these cars. I bet 30 years ago it would have been great.
"See any treasures?" No. Nothing worth saving. That's a true JUNKyard. Scrap it all
A million dollars, and you don't even get the land!? Daddy brainwashed this guy about how great his treasures were. Destroying land like this should be a criminal offense.
I'll take all the pine needles for $100,000 if you will count them.
The land has the value not all that junk. It would cost a fortune to move it all. But the property value would triple.
Unfortunately it's way too late on what is there. Unless there's a Thunderbolt a Yenko or Hemi convertible there you may have a few thousand dollars in scrap metal. Wish them luck on the sale.
I like the Nova wagon. Never seen one b4.
Considering cost in moving cars and land doesn’t go. He would be extremely lucky to get $200,000. The buyer has to make money too. His best option is to open up the lot himself and risk losing a taillight to a thief and hope to sell a door or windshield a day
even at a fifth of asking price you're overcharging
I agree with a prior comment. Best thing to do is a no reserve auction and then have someone come to scrap. There might still be some good parts and a few good cars to restore but this is a goldmine for Garage Art seekers. Still might make decent money but maybe not what he's expecting.
It's primarily rotted, with little value, but to the scrap yard and the few rare pieces to be found.
I haven't seen anything that I would want.
It is sad all of the negative comments from people. Yes, it is unlikely someone will buy it all for that kind of money. Although it is a very neat place to see on video and I’m sure in person. Being in the business, I see lots and lots of parts that could be salvaged still to this day. You can really tell who the true old car guys are by the comments on here. The rest are just clueless. Regardless of condition there is history here, not just simply scrap metal.
I can't stand hoarders that don't at least keep all the leaves off the cars and keep them from rotting most of them cars aren't worth what they could be. I estimate about $50,000 Max for what is left he should just hire a mobile Crusher and get rid of it all for scrap value
Most of cars are beyond their years of salvage even for parts the cost of moving all of them wouldn't be worth it.
After watching the entire video ive come to the conclusion that the old boy who thinks those rotted , wrecked and stripped 4 door mavericks , impalas and rambler wagons are worth a million dollars is higher than giraffe lips ! There is no real highly desirable vehicle that I noticed and anything that would have had any potential interest from builders and collectors like myself is far too gone to be worth any effort or consideration. Theres literally nothing in this wrecking yard that i or the majority of car guys in general would find worth any effort. Its all just junk ready to be crushed and sold as scrap . Theres nothing there
I stopped watching after 15 mins lol
Lots of rust, but no gold..
When he closed in the 70's is when he should have sold them
Sad that the AMC Gremlin held up better than most of the other cars. 😅
Your camera man needs to know what he is looking at and slow down done good but I seen some that are sout after that you skipped
I love old people and old junk yards but this guy is very wrong on the price of theses vehicles. They’ve been setting there right down on the ground plus they are covered in leaves which hood even more water. I’d say most of it needs to go to the crusher.
I think All of those cars combined are worth about $5,000.Considering the gas it will take to get there the amount of work you will have to put in just to get the ones you want. Most of them are not restorable.Just breaks my heart.
You know my Dad used to say just because its old don't mean its worth a lot seem to me from what i seen in the video he just has a lot of old stuff but i wish him all the luck in the world
yeah... well i have some arizona beachfront property for sale too!!!🤣
Probably a better buy beach in AZ 😂
Come on now you know it needs to be AZ ocean front property to be worth anything.
So sad to see all those cars!! The cost to transport everything would be outragous.
He's got a couple in there that are still salvageable but the rest bring a crusher and you could Bank
All he can do is to dismantle any salvageable parts, itemize them, and sell them on the internet. No one is dropping 1M for any of that. No one!
A ridge runner got to dream.
These are mostly parts cars and many dont even make that standard there beyond repair think there just throwing mud at the wall see if it sticks great named car shame about condition of them
Most of these cars are interesting, but I love old pick ups
Would you like a pillow with that dream ! Askin ain’t gettin.
Some are in pretty good shape.
Sad there was a yard near me had cars from 20s to 70s when old man passed the sons tried to clean it up most cars came out in pieces a lot if good trim went to scrap yard and parts
Guy has maybe $200-250k in parts cars, scrap, and maybe 2 dozzen good buildable cars and trucks.
The Mice and rust have done them in. Maybe a few bumpers, fenders, hoods. Bet most if not all motors are locked up.
Another video of a collection of vehicles that yes as others have said the owner waited too long to part with. It will cost alot to process this pile and the value of scrap metal is in the tank. Rust waits for no one.
The camera man are drunk???
My head hurts seeing this video, the only calm and straight shot is the pictures 😂😂😂
Regardless of the circumstances, it's too late for restoration, parts cars at best.
The bones have well and truly been picked clean with most of that stuff, it’s all pretty much past saving due to the rot and missing parts. Any value there was, went away 30 years ago unfortunately.
His best bet is a huge Auction ... let bidders flush out the good and let the scrappers bid on whats left over for one money 💰
Some of the chrome and stainless trim is PRICELESS. You can't find that stuff. But not worth a million dollars.
One has to ask, does he really wanna sell? A million dollars?!? C'mon man!
there's definitely money there. people saying he waited too long are right but there's still a chunk of money there.
Yup, a truck in Alabama must have a heater, lol.
Alot of good stuff you can salvage dont know why people fret about scraping them parts that are useful can bring high dollar to good cars already together
30/40 years ago would have been the time to sell. Now unfortunately alot of parts you need to fix many of the cars are unavailable. Time to crush out, unfortunately.
The clock in that Caddie, is when time stoppped, and that junkyard became worthless lol Many, many, many, year's ago. It's a shame tho.
We had a yard by us like that, someone has taken the time recently, and listed part's over the past few year's, helped the old timer make a few dollar's off the part's. He wasn't looking for a million dollHairs, i could buy part's for pennies on the dollar when i needed something, very reasonably priced, sadly not much left nowadays tho.
Alabama is a humid state for the most part which is not conducive for storing cars especially when they're covered in leaves. Try and move one of those cars and it'll become a Slinky.
Incorrect about 53 being the last year until 2004 to get a manual cadillac. You could get a manual cadillac cimmaron in 1982.
On a friends property With a dozen junk cars in middle mississippi most looked like these. Half were given away to the farmer across the road as scrap.
With the huge amount of rain in the south east these cars sink into the ground so the bottom usually is rusted out.
With my friends remaining junk cars trees have to be cut down to get the junkers out.. yuk
So the dilemma with these junk cars is many have negative value. Or zero value
In selling this videos stuff the seller wants all removed but the buyer might only really want 1 in 10 vehicles.
So if the buyer pays him 20k 50k 100k etc then they will just try to take some not all.
It is like Cleaning out a hoarders house full of old stuff. The inheritors take the few value stuff and the rest sell or give to the cleaner
The buyer needs chainsaw s trailers tractors and free labor.
If you could hire Samantha from Bewitched to instantly move them you need acres to store them.
If you are a business then some countries in the south tax your new inventory. The tax man can say they are worth 250 per car as scrap so you now pay say 5 bucks a year each year on each car. Lol so if you get 100 junkers the tax man wants 500 a year every year as a tax on inventory.
