- Howdy, y'all! My name is Mike and I absolutely love scavenging for free stuff, random treasures, lost valuables and other interesting artifacts. In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. The red "boxes" you find at 6:48 are watch winders for mechanical automatic watches. It's good to use these because they keep the lubrication inside from pooling which would require service sooner.
Those are great for Rolexes.
And winders are not cheap for decent ones.

The red boxes are for kinetic watches. You plug them in and they go around to keep the watch charged when you are not wearing it.
If it's out there Mike The Scavenger finds it!!!!! Way to go Mike.

Used to hit the local charity shops when I was a secondhand book dealer. Often ran into an unemployable guy looking for watches (obsessive collector). When the local trade school closed their watch repair department, everything went into a dumpster - and he found it!! Wish I'd seen his face. This was Melbourne Australia in the 80s.
Good to see you grabbing some garage sale items too. Those watches were a find. Seiko is a name brand not cheap. Great dumpster day!!!

If every store would place their scrap on the outside of their Dumpster and advertise that there is scrap to be had that scrappers could take it off their hands and less goes in the landfill as well as our environment would benefit from it. Hey Mike, those blue racks they would be good to give you a little more room in the garage to stack separate bins for stripped wire and such. Definitely try to utilize those to your advantage. Mike, I bet you could sell those blue racks pretty easily. I can see them being used at a greenhouse, farm stand, flea market or anything like that to set up on blocks or saw horses for sales benches. Or even in someone's garage or workshop. Definitely should be able to get more than scrap value on them. Nice find! Looking forward to the follow-up video about the watches
