In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. When I see you pick though and get little pieces that just weigh a couple ounces it makes my heart glad. Most scrap guys won't mess with little pieces because there just isn't any money in it. When I see you get the little tiny pieces I know you're not doing it just for the money, you actually care about the environment and want to keep the stuff out of the landfill and recycled.

Lights are being replaced in mass numbers because LED lights have come sown in price. Old fluorescent lights will be thrown out by the tons over the next few years.

Mike, what might be a good video is when you go to the scrap yard to turn your scrap in for $$, is to help those doing the same thing, to identify what metals are what, a good way to separate them, and if any are not worth taking. Thank you 🤓

How does someone nominate Mike the Scavenger for an Environmental award in the State of Texas? First off, you guys down there are so far behind in recycling it isn't funny. Cardboard and metal in the dumpster is illegal in our area, but I am sure it still happens. I would like to ask all of Mikes followers to start a campaign towards recognizing Mike as a top contributor to saving the environment. Let's hear it for Mike the Scavenger.

Mike, the creed bottle was creed aventus. Depending on the batch number even the empty bottle can sometimes sell for more than 50$. I have a "vintage" bottle from 2015, mine still has cologne in it but empty its worth like 70$. Full ones from this year can be 1k a bottle now.

Hi Mike that bin you found isn't cheap. Optical cable has lots of uses and yes there's a scrap value.
Look in the back of plastic trade magazines and should list the places that purchase scrap plastic.

I really like your idea about the wood drawers. That is such a neat set up for small things, so much better than the white plastic sets of 3 drawers.
