Two new cars in two weeks for TheCarGuys.tv - and this week it’s the second of our GR Yaris! And guess what? Jason’s back!
Ordered in November 2020, this black beauty has been a long time coming, but since the GR Yaris is now sold out, it’s great to have this pocket rally rocket in the collection at last.
In this episode join us for the collection of the car from Stepen Eagell in Ipswich, a discussion about why we now have two GR Yaris - a black and white one, and of course the first drive.

There’s a rather neat little hack you can do on the rear view mirror they did it on Harry’s Garage just lifts it up and back a bit
Hi. You will love the Yaris. I picked mine up at the end of June and I’m still grinning! It is one hell of a car, fast and very capable. It makes every outing an event and you can’t stop smiling or even laughing out loud. It sometimes feels as though the car spurs you on to go faster. When you do give it the beans and then have reason to stop, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, etc you find yourself panting/laughing and then realise your alone in the car and you ought to compose yourself before your seen. You do get a lot of people trying to race you as well. I’ve found I prefer mine to be in track (4WD safer) all the time, I do switch everything else off but I do switch the IMT on which blips the engine when you change down. I can’t heel and toe, I’m to busy hanging on! The Yaris is a great car and really good fun and worth more than they cost, a bit like a Rolex? Enjoy. Lawrence.

Just took delivery on mine today…. WOW… what a car. Competent, composed and crazy quick in “real world’ conditions. Ok, I’ve paid over list price, but honestly, anyone that gets one of the 2500 allocated to U.K., is mad to sell it on. Deffo going to be a keeper in any collection… VERY HAPPY 😀

Bloody awesome mates. GR Yaris is an absolute hoot, and you guys are 100% spot on about the tiny niggles that just had to be overcome every time you start it up.
I literally have a muscle memory now to automatically press lane keep assist and auto start/stop every time I press the starter button.
I also love driving it in Track mode, normal is a bit too understeery. 😅

Hey guys. Super pleased you two bought one of these little ripper cars. I'm from Oz and took delivery of mine earlier in the year. I noticed you mentioned that each time you get in the car you have to switch the engine auto-on/off button off. Not sure if it's the same in the UK as over here but if I put mine in sport mode that horrid auto on/off thing stays permanently off. Of course, still means you have to religiously switch the car to Sport but I reckon it's the best mode for all-round fun. Cheers, and thanks as always for a great video

Brilliant video, brilliant cars. Takes me back to the late 80s. I was a high school teacher and a bit of a petrol head. My colleague and I both bought a Renault GT turbo, mine was pearlescent white and his was black. They looked fab parked next to each other in the staff car park. The teenage lads were pretty impressed. 😀😀😀

A great little car. And compared to some of the others in the collection, a relatively affordable one. In a bang per buck equation it is probably one of the best in the collection.

My Corolla hybrid also has that letterbox problem, I also have a dash cam and my phone stuck to the screen. I put it town to the rake of the screen which makes it feel quite short with not enough viewable area!

Brilliant! The Stormtrooper is introduced to Darth Vader. I saw one here in Singapore recently and it definitely had an aftermarket exhaust fitted. Sounded quite fruity when he applied the beans following my thumbs up. Looking forward to the next instalment of Little and Large / Rodney and Del Boy / French and Saunders (delete as applicable)!
The reason why the GR Yaris is so good is because B roads are so good ... ;)
I'm guessing the Toyota dealer was better than the Lotus one for a cheaper car !
I've got mine on order, May '22. I'm checking the 'MY TOYOTA' app every day just incase. I'm hoping my dealer will call me and say there has been a cancellation and we can bump you right up the list 🤞. I've ordered the platinum white pearl but I kinda wish I opted for the Scarlet red pearl. 🤷. I'm going to keep it completely standard as it will hold its price plus I'm not down for the 'crashed through Halfords' look.
I like these cars. Not too crazy expensive, but still a lot of fun. Also Toyota is very reliable and built to last very long.
White is the better colour as the lumps and bumps are easier to see. But it’s an amazing car so I would take one in prosthetic beige if pushed!

I ordered one of these literally straight after seeing Jason's review video in Feb, was told may 2022 but managed to bag a cancelled order so got it in June in the end, I've never had any performance car before, and I don't know why anyone would need any more than this beauty! Rattles a lot though! Can't wait to see what you do with them, honest mods / tweaks that you want to make your car actually better, not just because it's out there and you're a 'youtuber'

I have to wait till 2023 for mine. Yikes. Cannot believe the waiting times for a Toyota. Mines white and I honestly love the colour. But I do think from the back, white is the worst colour. Interestingly I Was offered a black one ready for May 22, but I didn’t want to risk not having the spare cash.
