Beautiful Resto on a little yellow screamer. Grunt and a half for the spark plug install. I use a dab of antisieze to keep things honest. Looks like a winner.
Thankyou
@@TNTMOTO If you ever find an XR-350, I would love to see a full restore and you taking it out to the track for a test. I hear tell it was the holy grail of xr's. I know the 87' 250R was the king of the cr's. The 89 is the most desirable, The coolest Kawi to, me was the 89 KDX-200, the thing was fun to ride. All mid 80's rm's are cool. 88 Yz-250 was cool, and 80's cagivas and Ktm's were in the zone. All of which I rode except that XR-350. Cool channel!
@@free-birdrocker8809 I have the XR500r which i really enjoy. Its my go to trail bike
worth a shot haha cant wait to have my bike up and running see you on the track
Ya let me know when you have it up and running. Hopefully i will have the 1985 CR250 done by then.
ok good to keep in mind. and also is there a return spring on the clutch? mine doesn't seem to want to return
no return spring. just the clutch springs
did this just happen?
thanks again!
no I'm just wondering if you get a different plug if it will hit the piston?
Just make you you cross reference the plug brand to match your oem plug.
If you have a 87 rm125 NGK br8 and br9 are the most common plugs run. lots of people run es or eg. fairly cheap plug. ev and eix get more expensive.
Oh okay
Drum rear is this a 86 model?
87. only the RM250 got the disk in 87
What did you use for a spark plug
Honda Denso Spark Plugs W27ESR-V
The first one i fouled was a NGK
Brake shoes? So it has drum brakes on a 1987?
yes mine has drum on the rear. they had a swing arm recall later in the year, i think they had a disk option for that one. i may switch it over to disk if i like the bike on the track. i have taken it apart and now have brakes but i need to take some measurements to see if i need a new liner or new pads.
TNT 22 I'm not sure how the Suzuki system works but have you tried adjusting it all the way out?
I moved the arm back and i now have brakes but its not right. its at least 50% actuated. theres just too much room between the pads and the liner. im going to order new pads. they are really inexpensive. If thats not it then i need a new hub liner. still not that expensive. Hop to do a track test this weekend.
i saw it on craigslist i would trade you my my cr 125 for it i put 1950 into it and it has minor problems
thanks
no problem. Once i have the bike fully tuned i will be putting in a NGK 3089 BR9EIX Iridium Spark Plug. But they are $20 + each here so i want to wait.
Will it hit the piston?
Suzuki was a bit late to the party in the 1980s from what I've read but I didn't realise they were that bad?
Late to the party in the 1980s? Suzuki RM125 1981 and 1982 were named bike of the year by MXA. They said about the 81: '' It was a bike from the future. In 1981, The liquid-cooled Suzuki RM125 arrived and stunned the world. Works bikes had come out with liquid-cooling earlier, but Suzuki did it right, and the bike was lighter, faster and, with the Full-Floater rear shock, much better suspended than anything in the world. As was the case in this period, the RM’s period of dominance was short-lived. The next year, Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki caught up. It’s worthy to note that the 1982 Suzuki RM250 (a virtual clone to the ’81 125) dominated that class in the much same fashion'' MXA dirtbikemagazine.com/10-best-motocross-bikes-ever/
i think a little more than minor
Roman Buset ya not looking for any more projects right now. still have two bikes to restore right now
