It's always a pleasure seeing one of my all-time favorite bikes rebuilt so beautifully. I had an '87, but I wanted the '88 because I wanted the rear disc brake. In the end I held out for the '89 model (and I'm glad I did) because it was basically a brand new bike compared to the previous model. It's STILL the best handling bike I've ever ridden.

You did a great job bringing it back from the dead. I owned and raced one in the Amateur class. The Nike is one of my all time favorites.

I thought the 88 model had a front/rear drum brake? What year did it come with with disc brakes?

'88 was the first year for both front and rear disc brakes on the RM125.

Did you spray paint the engine or powdercoat it?
