Talk about coming full circle. I took a keen interest in this channel, learned so much. Now I’m working in a Italian restaurant about to make this salad as part as my first staff meal for everyone. Love it.
Wow that's amazing ❤
Love how Steve always references family memories in his videos and recipes - in this case the sesame bread and his grandfather. My wife is Italian, and family is what food and cooking is all about. Big fan
Have you ever thought about writing a cookbook? Because I’m sure everyone would buy that and it would be a best seller 🖤 Absolutely love your videos!
This is a great dressing and has become my go to for salads. I have a couple tips for people. The first 20 times I made it I slowly added the oil to the blender. The last 2 times I just put everything in a smoothie cup for my blender and it came out the same. Since there are only 2 of us in the house, I was throwing out some of the dressing before I could use it. I thought it wouldn't work freezing it, but I tried it and it worked perfectly! It didn't even separate when thawed. I also put all the cheese in the dressing as I find it can fall to the bottom if you add it to the salad. Finally, I buy the 3 LB bag of peeled garlic at a warehouse club for making the roasted garlic.
I always love a recipe with a story attached about how a smell/taste/whatever brings back some sort of fond memory. ❤
You never cease to amaze me with your recipes. Gotta try this one out!
Man that looks killer. Must try!
Wow. This salad looks absolutely fantastic!!!! Thank you, Steve……will be making this today.
😍
It’s like 10:30 at night and I want to get dressed again and go buy Tuscan kale and make this salad now lol I LOVE LOVE LOVE your recipes, Steve 💯👍❤️ I only wish my Italian Grandfather was still alive so I could cook them for him! He was the cook in the family and would have adored you, as I do! Thank you so much 😊 🙏❤️
I just made this for lunch today. We loved it! Can't recommend enough. Dressing is phenomenal...can't wait to put it on more stuff.
Wow! I was waiting for you to do that sort of dish. I will add this to my meal this week. You derserve a lot of credit! I enjoy all your receipt
Excellent video! Thanks! Everything was fantastic, but great idea to use the breadsticks for croutons. I usually use sourdough or focaccia chunks and toast them with the oil and seasoning on them.
Love this channel bro! Learnt soo much from this channel. Keep the content coming. 👊🏽
Omg can’t wait to try this! Love your show🥰
Recently discovered you and your channel and I love. Thank you relaxing and inspiring brilliant 👏 😊
Thank You. I can not wait to try this!
Ok I have never eaten kale before however with that dressing minus the chillies, I could definitely go there. It looks/sounds totally amazing. This goes into my favs folder ~ Hello from Adelaide South Australia 🇦🇺 ❤️🙏
Great recipe! Thank you for sharing 🙂.
Do more salads! They're my fav videos of yours :)
Great recipe and I love your channel! Quick question, how would you say your Thermador gas oven has worked for you? I've noticed it throughout your videos and with all the cooking you do, I would love to know how it has performed for you and do you recommend it?
I wanna make this! ill make it straight up first and then try adding protein.
Oh man is this delicious! This is my third recipe of yours I’m trying and so far I’m 3/3!
Other than the kale, it looks delicious. Thank you for the dressing!
This is one of the best salads I’ve ever had!! Thanks so much!
I used to eat those bread sticks as a kid. I haven't thought about them in years lol. You just unlocked a memory for me
Dressing looks wild. Also, applause for the well dressed salad ‘cause there’s nothing more infuriating than an over dressed or under dressed salad. (I don’t have anger issues, swear) 👏🧡
I agree! Dealing with overdressed salad for me has come to a point where i just enjoy a salad plain. But if it's something like this then i can finally get behind dressing 😋
🤣🤣🤣 That's how I feel
That Looks delicious! 😋😋😋
please teach us how to make good breadsticks 👍💗
Ok, I really like kale and Caesar salad. This looks tremendously yummy! Saved and going to make tomorrow. Those croutons...!
Holy hell this looks good. Thanks for the recipe!
Gorgeous. Looks super-delicious!
Looks great, kale isn’t my go to, but wanna make that sauce for sure!
no kale in my region, but I will try it with nappa cabbage. Good chef, good teacher you are.
Thanks! That looks delicious. I love Cesar salad, but I love variations on favorite things, too.
I love this! Great video
This guy is so legit. I love his passion for food. He is definitely one of my top favorite foodies on RUclips now.
That looks delicious!!
Best cooking show on RUclips, hands down!
I love your channel so much. You’re awesome!
Wow this is actually a salad I see myself eat every day not gonna lie, good video u def get my like and sub
5:42 - yes, strips! It blows me away how many people make salads with a giant chunk of a lettuce or leafy green. The dressing ends up all over your face when you go to bite. I'm always looking for that chopped salad; it eats way easier.
Thank you for a delicious, well dressed salad. Can you please advise how long to keep the dressing?
Does anyone know where you can get squeeze bottles like the one he uses in the video? It looks nice!
Looks amazing
Vibrant dressing adds depth of flavor to the salad and juices are flowing with every bite of the leaves of that darkish green kale.
This is AWESOME!!!!
A good method I found to emerson blend the sause is to keep the blade submerged in the egg part so that its halfway between those wholes on the blade guard. This makes it so it blends up very quickly, I would also suggest you pre-blend all your non oil ingredients because when you're using olive oil and this method the rotation causes the oil to oxidize which makes it go bitter. That's also why you should not use any expensive olive oil even if you wanna splurge because those are bitter already and it will make the sause taste bad.
Nice, another application for my jar of Calabrian chili paste😊
This is brilliant.
7:47 - that looks like Christmas morning! Dark leafy green (tree), croutons (ornaments), parm cheese (frosty snow).. haha damn!
i hit the like button right after the moment “salads look best when they’re TALL.” haha
How can I veganize this dressing recipe? I'd really like to try it. And I love kale!
One more thing my Poppy perfected was “Tripa” or Tripe in a delicious tomato sauce; lots of bay leaves garlic and peppercorns. Do you have a recipe for that? He was Neapolitan and Romano and it was awesome!! Nice white honeycomb tripe was key . TYIA 😉
OMG I loooove tripe, though I rarely have it. Funny enough, I made a dried fava bean stew last week and it tasted as if it was a tripe stew. I used similar seasoning .
@@m.theresa1385 I’m making it today, the tripe that is 🥰 I cannot wait until dinner! The kale Caesar salad is on my agenda too, but I haven’t been able to find the Calabrian chilis anywhere 😩
It's not only about recipes, it's about the delivery
I love those pop ups
Great video!! Thank you.
Steve, where is your shallow bowl from that you served the salad in?
Only one anchovie?? I would love more! And on top of the salad. I love anchovies!
Considering kale. Especially here in Minnesota.
I'm allergic to fish so no anchovy or fish oil. What can I use to replace those two items?
awesome sauce, and ur skin is glowing
Can you blend in a blender if you don't have an emulsion blender?
Whenever I come here, I always hit the like button before I even watch the video because I know what you cooking up is 🔥
Very good twist on the original!
Super thumbs up 👍👍👍 I am always so inspired... I also leave your videos feeling amazingly hungry haha.
@Steve how long will this dressing stay good for in the fridge? And I see you put some in a bottle and left the rest in the container, can the remainder be frozen and thawed later?
That's a delicious looking salad, and I am not even that huge on raw kale. I'd totally destroy that whole bowl in a couple minutes. lol
Hey bro! Awesome video, how long do you think the dressing would stay or how long in advance can I make it?
yes looking for a response to this as well!
Liquid IV was the single thing keeping me alive in Vegas ... highly recommend after a night of drinking
Looks good👍
is their a replacement for the anchovy if you're allergic to fish?
as someone from NL, its a bit weird to see Kale used in a salad but it looks delicious, gotta try this sometime soon!
does your olive oil ever pull bitter from blending? i have this problem a lot
Very nice 👏🏽👏🏽
Bruh boil carrots til soft then fry em/roast/grill with some oil on em whatever til they yummmmy af and crispy, add that to your salad and add a peanut butter dressing, heaaaveennn
yeah just slice em bad bois up, the dressing i use is just peanut butter, honey, lemon, oil, salt, whatever else you're feeling
May I ask what kind of kale this is. I have a flat leaf in my garden but it seems very tuff for salad, even chopped chiffonade style. It only seems great in soups.
gr8 pacing in this video!
So - Colavita EVVO is about $20/25 ounces where I live. I saw you were using it as a "cheap olive oil". I thought it was pretty expensive, lol. I'm always open to a superior product. What do you recommend?
California Olive Ranch 100% California is the GOAT! It retails for $10-15/34fl oz depending on where you get it from and it’s so fucking bright, peppery, and delicious. I’ve done multiple blind taste test at home and i prefer it over any other EVOO (even the fancy foreign stuff). Get it at Sam’s Club or Costco if you can for the best price. Second choices are Cobram Estate 100% California or Zoe’s (from Spain).
@@tpn1110 Thanks! I will try them.
what cheese grater do you use?
What type of squeeze bottle is he using?
nice man! Cheers!
This would make a nice appetiser with fried seaweed instead of kale, maybe a touch more vinegar.
This looks fantastic - the only thing I'd add is some bacon and hard boiled egg, or some charred chicken to make it a full meal.
Chef! Where have you been😿 Missed your expertly prepared dishes with ur unfussy approach…ok straight up missed u bro! 🙆🏽♀️
Definitely gonna have to try this, I always need more excuses to eat salads
is there any reason I cant just toss the garlic in oil and bake on a small sheet pan?
Cuz you want that extra cup of garlic infused oil for the dressing
How hasn’t this guy hit 1 million subs yet? Charismatic, knowledgeable and just all round entertaining with some fantastic recipes and videos
1 year later, he did it 🎉
Hi !
Where did you buy your pipet ?
Thanks !!!!
Don't forget to shake that Worcestershire, the font suggesting it is way too small, didn't notice it for way too long.
So funny.. I'm sitting here making a grocery list of stuff for chicken caesar salad for dinner
Mmmm!! 🤤 I’ve been really wanting to make the garlic cooked in oil. Looks incredible!
What happened to your garden? Are you still growing (season permitted, of course)?
I need to know where you get these massive heads of garlic!? Is it the area you live in?
Not gonna lie Steven, that looks like one damn tasty salad.
This sounds amazing with the Calabrian chili!!! 😍😍😍🤩 Homemade Cesar dressing is the best!!! I have to make it on the sly my kids don't know I use a raw yolk 😄😆 ...but they love it! ❤❤❤
No worries! The whites have the protein, so if there’s any salmonella it will be in the whites! 😉
just wanted to clarify, the vid says one clove for the dressing but the recipe on the link says one HEAD and one clove. one head seems a bit excessive but just making sure.
Try adding fried shallot strings…game changer
Is this labeled "spicy" because of the 1 Tablespoon Calabrian chili? i've never tried them, are they spicy?
Yes, in a very good way.
looks too good
Thanks for the recipe though:)))
I hate romaine because of the cronchy parts. I don't mind kale though, so I'm going to give this a shot!
