It baffles me as to why shower manufacturers can't get together and agree on a universal shower footprint. I'd settle for a manufacturer using the same footprint for all of their own showers. It's all very well being able to swivel water and electrical cables but the biggest problem is drilling new screw holes. I've seen gas pipes and other electrical cables running behind a shower unit. Personally if the screw holes aren't an exact match then it's tiles off. Those tiles may no longer be available. I think the manufacturer that standardizes shower footprints will save customers money and make it easier for installers.
Well, a few weeks back I took out an old Gainsborough shower and installed a T80Z fast fit. Had to move the electric cable to a new hole in the tiling, using a special tile drill bit. New case fixing holes as well. Otherwise pretty good. Needing a new gate valve in the airing cupboard, not a fault of the T80Z, challenged my compression joint skills but I managed.
Just removed our old Aqualisa as it had given up, replaced it with this and it was basically a straight swap, no dramas, one thing I don't understand though is the power indicator light stays on even when not in use? Unless you isolate it at the pull cord of coarse.
New shower (triton Martinique) was stuck in its box for two weeks because I 👍😎👍😎👍👌didn't know how to get the nut and olive on, sorted the new shower straight away after seeing this video....thanks a lot.......brilliant
Can I use Plastic piping connections to showers inlet instead of Copper? I am to use an 8.5kw cable, what size fuse? And does an Isolation switch with the Fuse in it , goes between shower unit and Fuse/ trip board?
Is the nut and olive for the water inlet a part of the supplied shower package?. I am just a little concerned about this connection. Normally olives compress or 'dig into' a hard copper pipe to provide the water seal. Here the olive digs into the soft plastic. Seems to me that if that first connection attempt leaks, then you've written off the entire unit, as you'd never to get it to seal properly on the 2nd attempt. Are you allowed to fit JG Speedfit plastic push fit connectors instead?.
Does top pipe entry trims necessary? We did miss both left and right entry trims and now can see both openings ? Does it cause any harm if it kept open?
If the shower is constantly dripping water we'd advise contacting our service team on 02476 372222 to discuss and potentially arrange a service repair.
So took out a screw that holds the can, one that goes in to plastic. Put in back and its like on a spring, it won't go fully in and tries to come out. Any thoughts, I'm thinking air trapped in the hole There's no water or grease in there
Ive measured my water pressure and it 11 litres per minute. So i know it fine for my t80z 8.5kw triton shower. Yet when I switch my shower to hot its just dripping.Ive swapped the heat exchanger and its still rubbish. Running out of ideas as ive cleaned the filter out and stripped all parts and cleaned. Is there a fix and if not what shower has same hole alignment that isnt the same shower haha.
We still sell the Ivory 4 model direct on our website www.tritonshowers.co.uk/ivory-4-electric-shower or you can find the Ivory 5 as a suitable replacement through local Homebase stores. It may be worth just checking the shower head is clear of blockages and the hose hasn't got a kink in it. Generally hot/cold issues will be due to low flow or flow restrictions.
Sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with our T80Z Fast-Fit model. If you could provide some further details of what is causing this for you, we would welcome the opportunity to advise and assist as appropriate. Kind Regards, the Triton Online Team.
The water not heating can be caused by low water pressure, the shower will be using a pressure switch for the elements to go on. This requirements will be dependant on the kW rating of the shower. As for the on/off not working this could be an issue with the switch itself or the unit not being flat to the wall causing misalignment with the button/switch. If the installation doesn't appear to be the problem we'd recommend contacting our service team on 02476 372222.
Always makes me laugh when they say "It's as easy as that", doesn't always work that way. I noticed the compression elbow had enough slack on it to pull it out a bit to enable the nut to be loosened off to turn it to the left, if you didn't have any play you might struggle to undo it
Sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing. If water is draining out of the bottom of the unit, it sounds like the pressure relief device (PRD) may have activated. This is a safety feature and the PRD is designed to activate when there is a pressure build up within the shower. This is usually caused by some kind of blockage to the flow of water through the unit, such as debris, limescale build up of the shower head or a kinked shower hose. If the PRD has indeed activated, it will need replacing as they cannot be 'reset'. It will also be advisable to inspect the shower unit and accessories for any of the previously mentioned blockages which may have caused the PRD to activate. If you require further assistance, please call our service team (contact details on the Triton Showers website).
We have a T70xr will this just fit with no rewiring or piping and are the fixing holes the same Anyone know of a replacement for the t70xr that fits with no rewiring, pluming or holes Just a pop on
Hi Tony. The water supply compression fitting will require turning through 90° to accommodate the Fast-Fit's horizontal inlet but other than that, the T80Z Fast-Fit is a relatively straightforward for a Madrid 2 unit. Hope this helps.
We would advise for further help on this sending over your contact details and potentially some photos of the part to our technical department on technical@tritonshowers.co.uk from there we should be able to assist you. Kind Regards, Leon.

Best video I have seen on fixing a shower
Great video. Let's hope it's as easy as it looks; this will be my first attempt at fitting a shower . . .

Just had one of these fitted but the highest setting is luke warm water at best. Any ideas what can be done?

We don't supply the nut/olive no, we also wouldn't advise using a push fit as it will invalidate warranty, we state compression fittings only.
What type of compression elbow is that where you can adjust the rotation????
Any if you just back the nut off
Does top pipe entry trims necessary? We did miss both left and right entry trims and now can see both openings ? Does it cause any harm if it kept open?
For warranty purposes we'd advise to fit them, also to prevent water entering easily into the product through the entries.
Fit an oten olef - the self tightening screw. That's what I've heard about 2:39 and can't hear it the right way. So, don't know what should I buy :(.
Thought I might buy as fast fit but my inlet elbow is soldered vertical.😢
Ive just had this exact shower fitted less then a week ago and its constantly dripping?

What Size îs a cold elbow?
15/22 elbow?
Hi, it is a 15mm compression fitting. Kind Regards, Leon.
that bloody bottom screw can be a night mare when water is fed from the bottom .
I have a Triton Ivory 4 . 9.5kw keeps going hot and cold , what is the best replacement model ?

very helpful video
If you don't push the plastic wall plugs behind the tiles, you're liable to crack the tiles as you tighten the screws.
Probably the worst electric showers I've ever worked on, this product is better put in a rocket and sent into outer space
