  • In this video we will show you how to setup your livestream with our Honey Optics 4K PTZ cameras.
vMix is the go-to production software for many studios, churches, and venues. vMix allows you to do live production via software alone (no need for expensive hardware switchers) or in conjunction with your hardware switcher.
Today vMix became even more popular in the PTZ camera community because of the built in PTZ control features. On top of that vMix has native NDI capabilities allowing you to bring in your NDI sources without any need for adapters or conversion software!

Question concerning the create imput at this position button, can you use your ptz controller device with a joystick to aim and zoom the ptz camera and then use the create input at this position button in the software? Or do you have to use the software to aim and zoom the camera in order for it to work? Great video, I learned a lot.

I installed 3 of these to a city hall parliament with 4~5 separate vMix inputs per camera. Works like a charm.
Two points. 1) Your PTZ Optics cameras have an older firmware version than mine (in fact mine are VHD but they are the same manufacturer). In the newer firmware NDI has HX2 option too and settings are much more populated / complicated. You can assign a separate IP address for the NDI server and also swich the NDI "discovery" server on / off. However even when it's switched off vMix can find the cameras in the NDI add input. In fact when I turned the NDI Server on the video started flickering for some reason. This confused me a lot since there is no information on these NDI settings in the user manual. I hope somebody explains it. 2) When controlling the cameras vMix have PTZ Optics UDP protocol and i used that. I noticed you are using the SONY protocol which still controls the PTZ Optics / VHD camaras. so i guess no big deal there.

Great information! I have several questions concerning each video and need to get clarification. This is my first rodeo in this arena. What is the best form of communication? Looking at 3 ptz, graphics overlay on FB and YT for my church. Thanks again! BTW you look alot younger😁

Amazing that each camera angle can be an individual input from within Vmix. And Vmix as well controls the PTZ camera angles. Wow! 🎉
Wondering if the Honey Optics PTZ cameras can output both thru NDI as well as SDI at the same time? (for individual ISO recordings)
