Thank you for creating this video! I've got 2 4K NDI Honey Optics Cameras and will be using a PTZ Optics PT-JOY-G4 joystick to control them. My question is how do I add my cameras as an input over NDI in propresenter 7? Thanks!
Do you need to connect the switch box to a router in order for this system to work? I am looking to set-up a portable PTZ system with 1 or 2 cameras that I can use for streaming live events (conferences/presentations). Can you recommend the best device to use for the video capture from camera to PC? Still trying to wrap my head around all the different possible connections. Saw Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini being recommended but that feels like overkill for 1 (maybe 2) PTZ cameras...
You don't need the switch to connect to a router. this means you wont be able to connect to it via the internet but if you are just using the switch to connect all your devices locally than you should be fine.
Sadly you don't go deep dive on the NDI settings. That is one reason to buy this camera. Yet the Chinese produced manual does to explain things in depth. I see the profiles like Main and High. What do those settings control? Does the First stream settings override the dial and does those first stream settings apply to NDI stream to computer? Why do you set the Bit Rate so high when it could congest the LAN and not really be necessary at only 1080P? Then in the manual the I/Key Frame shows 30 which matches the 30 frame rate. I have always thought the Key Frame Interval is more like shutter speed and all other sources like PTZ optics says to set this at twice the Frame Rate?? I is as if you or Honey Optics don't really know what these settings should be and just ignore them. I hope you will make an in-depth video on NDI and OBS.
Frustrated... I have done all this, and have browser image and camera control, but no image to VLC or to OBS in a linux system... OBS version 29.0.0, ndi plug-n version 4.10... it finds the camera, just no image.
@@honeyoptics Went to the link, and posted for help. No reply. I finally found a way to get it to work. Will make a video and send it to you. or a link anyway. It is a great camera, even if Linux and "it just works" don't quite connect.

Can you have access to the internet with laptop you're using to controle the camera?
Is there any live footage for an event who used your cameras ? Thank you
Will the picture quality be less if we use USB to connect to the laptop as a webcam? And if we use USB will we need to use a capture card?
I plan to use the camera only via NDI with a Tricaster. Does it need the same setup or is it pretty much plug and play?
If you are using NDI you will still need to configure the camera on your network.

Great question! I've got a video about that coming soon, it's actually pretty easy to do and works well!

what is the resolution for NDI protocol? you mentioned about SDI and HDMI resolution but not NDI or I missed it thanks
Resolution for NDI is set under the First Stream settings in the camera's web interface. It can do 4k as well.

I've also found out the NDI is not support in Linux OBS. Are you using another software switcher with Linux?@@geezergeek1637
