    I had a ToyTech lift BOSS Lift on my 4Runner. Really amazing suspension system.

      I’ve always been impressed with ToyTec’s customer service, the 2.5 Aluma’s have been great so far

    Hey man, did you do a front sway bar drop when you installed the 2.5 Alumas? I wasn’t planning on doing a front sway bar drop, but now I’m worrying about it hitting the bottom of the coilover. Like I said on your Aluma review video, I’m only doing 2 inches.

      Hey, I had a sway bar drop with my old Bilstein 6112’s, the sway bar doesn’t touch the Aluma’s now. I don’t think you’d need one with 2” lift, I could probably get away without the drop

      @@MidMoTundra I think I’ll just add it on. Not like it’ll effect anything negatively. Thanks for the consistent in-depth replies man. You’ve been more helpful that various forums and mechanics combined lol. I’m gonna call JBA and Toytec Monday to ask about shipment time, and if that’s all good then I’ll order the parts! Hopefully it goes well👀

      @@texanerection492 doesn’t hurt to have it, worst case you can return it. Anytime, I’m glad I can share my experiences to help you. I think the setup you’ve got picked out will make you happy. Best of luck, if you need anything else just let me know

    Hi, now that it’s been a few months using the Toytec, which would you recommend ? Toytec or Bilsteins 6112 ? In ride conform/Overall ?

      Hey, I’m still impressed with the 2.5 Toytec’s. I don’t think you could go wrong with either option, but I think the Toytec’s have an advantage in ride quality.
      The 6112’s are still a great option, especially for their price point. But, I personally believe the 2.5 Toytec’s are the premium choice.
      I’d buy the 2.5 Toytec’s again over the 6112, even with their higher initial cost of entry. If you live in an area that see’s salted roads, the Toytec’s look new after a Missouri winter. The Bilstein’s were starting to show corrosion after the first winter

    Biggest difference between 6112/5160 and toytec?

    • @MidMoTundra
      @MidMoTundra  2 года назад

      Definitely the ride quality and lift height. The Toytec’s ride better and provided more lift out of the box vs the Bilsteins on top notch.
      If I adjusted the Toytec’s down to the same height as the Bilstein the ride quality difference would probably be a significantly better than it already is
      Toytec’s are also aluminum, so they won’t corrode and look trashy after one winter like my Bilstein’s started to do

      @@MidMoTundra I originally liked the toytec, not far from Denver. But then I heard everyone mention 6112/5160 and really like a smaller lift. I only have maybe 4 inches before I can’t fit inside the garage and with a lift and larger tires I think a smaller lift would work. Until they figure out how to remove the shark fin. Toytec are on sale too so it’s a good time to pull the trigger on them.

      @@marathonbaker Hugo at Toytec is very knowledgeable, I’m not sure how low you could lower the Toytec’s so the Bilstein 6112 may be a better option because it offers multiple lower light heights. Bilstein’s were on back order, so it may be hard to find a set.
      4” isn’t much room when you factor in larger tires (1-2” more height for 34-35’s) then you’re left with 2” left to play with on the lift

    Are you gonna add Tow Mirrors?

    • @MidMoTundra
      @MidMoTundra  2 года назад

      I’ve had tow mirrors on my last 3 Tundras and I like the OEM tow mirrors. This Platinum has power folding and Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM). Toyota doesn’t make an OEM mirror with BSM, just power folding. There’s some mods to make it work, still weighing the options.
      There are some aftermarket options but I haven’t seen one (Toyota style) that has BSM and power fold.
      A lot of people run the GM style, but I personally am not a fan of running GM style mirrors on a Toyota. I do like the GM mirrors overall, just not on a Toyota.
