I was hospitalized about 3 years ago for several days. While there I did some utube surfing and accidentally found Daddy Jacks. The channel hit me right off the bat and I fell in love with Daddy Jacks. I spent many hours watching this channel and still am a big fan. What impressed me the most was Jack's truthfulness and total selflessness towards his friends and strangers. He cannot be replaced, but more importantly, neither can the priceless memories!
Rest up? Nah, he's just starting.

I’ve only just realised Jack passed after reading the comments. I’m from the U.K. and have never met Jack but somehow felt like I knew him really well, I’ve watched all his videos and love his warm personality. I often thought about travelling to the states with my family to eat at his restaurant something I very much regret I never did. RIP Jack you inspired a lot of people I will miss you sincerely brother, my thoughts and prayers to you and all your family 🙏🏼❤️
When I'm down, I revisit Daddy Jack and he always lifts me back up again. I'm so glad these videos are here to come back to.

You just don’t fully recover after losing someone like this. Very upsetting. My heart goes out to Lakiesha, her son, Jacks daughter Luci, and the whole family. @Documentary Detective II Yeah, I don’t know the details, but they did have a Facebook live memorial for him that I was really hoping they would record the video so that everyone could see it. I personally missed it and I really really wanted to see it. It’s like the final daddy Jack send off.

I just found out Jack passed away a couple of minutes ago. I am truly sorry for his family and all of his fans. He was a great man who made his mark on the world.
We miss,& but remembrance well our hero " Daddy " Jack Chaplin. I found his channel, in late 2017-18,yes & eventually, we spent a good evening @ his establishment in New London,Ct in late June 2019, enjoying the food, music,atmosphere all. I had a direct line of sight into the kitchen,& saw our hero @ work,Bea, etc. Later on, he was @ his table with a few others. Glad I got to go there, everything about him via his videos, family, friends, we're better ALL: for being graced by this wonderful human being, 1st & forthmost: YES!

wow. I just read all the comments that jack died. I always liked these videos. Maybe like 3 years ago I was working in the area, and decided to stalk on by and check on the restaurant! It was closed at the time but I was thrilled to find the place, as I live in mass and it was an adventure and I'm a fan. so goes a great... now he's cookin' for angels.

I only learned of Daddy Jack's passing today. 😢 My heartfelt condolences go out to his family. Jack was one of those rare people who, even though I'd never met the man, I felt like I knew him my entire life. He was part of the family. When Covid started, I would watch his cooking videos on RUclips for hours and days on end. He helped me to appreciate the belief that anyone can get in the kitchen and cook. You just need to do it and practice at it. His legacy will live on indefinitely. Love and miss you Big Daddy!

This man's videos helped me get out of an extremely dark place this summer. Its impossible not to watch these videos and just feel better! My condolences to his family, the world has lost a great chef, entertainer, father, husband and friend.
Can't agree more, this man brightened my day, I still watch his videos and they bring me out of any funk I may be in, what a great soul.
Just a suggestion. Include the "In loving memory..." at the beginning of the video for those who may not watch 'til the end. Glad I got to meet him (and his daughter and Paula & her husband and Bea making pizzas!) at his restaurant in Connecticut. We're from Texas and were visiting Maryland. Made a special trip as I have been a big fan for years! He literally spent the entire time visiting with us. What a gracious guy!

So sad to hear of Jack's passing, I know the pain you're feeling having lost my sweet Wife of 40 years in Feb this year. Loved watching him cook, this is a tremendous loss for you but surround yourself with Family and friends. Think not of his death but all the fun times you had together, pictures and memories are a big help. Also know that so many of us loved him, and we are sending you love...

You can tell Jack was just such a great guy all around. As a chef just so smooth and classic. His voice was just so soothing, I'd binge watch a lot of these videos at night while laying in bed, even though I just ate an hour ago I'm now hungry again! Lol... To Jack’s family, my father passed away on Jan,29th 2022 he was 76 years old and worked so hard his whole life. I like to think that all the father’s like Jack and my father Richard all come together in the same place in heaven so they all can relax, tell stories and all enjoy each other’s company. They are in a most perfect place.

I hereby rename these meatballs as "Daddy Jack Memorial Meatballs!" Now I'm Italian and have been making my Nonna's recipe for 50 years... but adding the pepperoncini, curry and jerk seasoning changed just enough to make a very, very interesting meatball! I love it! My new favorite! ... and I had to use "green onion" in place of the leek. I liked that too.
One of my biggest inspirations in cooking. His techniques were flawless. How someone with hands bigger than a dinner plate could have such amazing knife skills is amazing. There will never be another like you & you will be missed. RIP Daddy Jack.

I just wanted to share my condolences with Jack's family. I started watching Jack TEN years ago when he was cooking at Chaplin's (Chicken Marsala!). I started by watching his cooking style.... but, I subscribed and continued watching because of his passion for cooking and life. He has been a blessing to me and I know how much of a loss this is for his family. My prayers are with you!
RIP Jack. You got me tHrough the pandmic by watching and cooking your dishes. My wife didn't want to watch but when I cooked your dishes she'd say yum! You inspired people to cook and I am forever grateful. I'll keep watching. There is plenty to learn. Your legacy lives on.
