😸 👏👏👏👏 another crystal clear and well presented tutorial, thank you! A few ideas / requests for future batocera goodness:
- saving and extracting rom files correctly.
- calibrating each emulator to be upscaled correctly.
- arcade/mame/FBA for cps123 and neogeo.

@@RetroGamingGuy No. Thank you!! I'm new to this and loving everything about it.
@@sodahead4108 so many amazing things to do and play in these emulation platforms!
@@RetroGamingGuy Brother. You don't have to tell me. I have big plans. I'm so glad games I grew up with are not dying. I do collect old consoles and games but this right here. Chefs kiss.
@@sodahead4108 for sure! In this day and age it's just so nice to be able to have everything in one setup. I have a few original consoles and games too but by the time I dust them off run the connections and everything Ive already lost 15 minutes of time. You just can't beat the push of a button and having everything at your fingertips.
Thank you for the video, I really appreciate your work. Everything works fine except for one: Atari 800 keeps telling me it needs original OS ROMs, when I try to select them in the emulator itself, it can't find them. What did I miss here? Thanks again!
Where can we add emulators and bios files is there a video on this ? Tx love ya videos learnt so much from you 😮😮😮
Thanks again!!!!!!!

@@RetroGamingGuy keep up the great work. That link also provided me with something else I needed for one of my arcade cabinets!!! (Cough) retrobat! @@counterrell35 thank you so much for this comment!!! Makes it all worth it! Truly appreciate your continued support!!
Question. Do we leave the bios files that we downloaded and pasted into the bios file in Batocera as is...I mean shouldnt we put them in a file(s). Like in the ROM file. Or if this is a stupid question, I apologize. But I feel like they should be organized.
cool thanks bud
It works perfectly!!! 👍
Thank you very much for the well presented video. I installed Batocera on a USB drive. I have to boot the drive on a HP 6000 Pro SFF. Is there going to be any problem accessing the BIOS files on the hard drive? Also, I found the keyboard and mouse not functioning very well with Batocera.
I've never booted from a usb drive but should work fine. What's going on with the mouse and keyboard?
thank you
U da mann
Thanks!!
if it works, subscribed and will donate! hold tight :)
Did it work?
If someone doesn't see downloaded bios files - reason is becouse you didn't use 7-zip for extraction.
I used winrar and explorer in batocera didn't see any files!
Hey i wanted to know that the link u gave in desricption for batocera bios it is the version batocera v33 and now i have batocera v38 so can i add this bios pack to my v38 batocera???? Please help
thanks for your video. for information, no need to reboot. bios files are read only when starting a game. to check that no bios is missing, you can use menu > game options > check missing bios.
If you have Batocera on like a flash drive/SSD, can you connect it to a PC that has all the BIOS files and copy them over from there, or do you actually have to boot into Batocera because it's doing something in the background with those files?
Yes you can because it links the bios files on startup iirc
Thanks
Thank YOU!
thanks
first off love the content!
question... ive taken all the files from there and installed into batocera and i still get a ps2 bios missing error. some of the time the game works anyways. not sure what thats about. My question is, is there an updated bios list that anyone knows of?
I am new to emulators, what do you mean that all the BIOS will be there at once? Does that mean that all the emulators for all the supported systems are there?
Thanks
Which download would you use for an android tv box using emuelec?
Just take Batocera and paste it in Bios, thanks alot for this
So v33 is posted now. When you extract it there are 3 files: bios, ROMs, and save. It looks like the ROMs and Save folders also have bios files. Where do we put those? Thanks.
Have u figured it out ? Do u just copy everything in bios ? Help ?
Did you ever figure this out?
Im also stuck with no other emulators than the default
You just match the same folders. Unpack the zip and copy the three folders and paste in the root, so bios goes into bios, save goes into save etc. The same folders exist on Batocera.
@@wizdude I did exactly that now all of my bios are not working 😂 must have did it wrong

Hi, I have a problem: there is no bios for NDS and PS Vita.
I haven't tested all of them yet, but there may still be some missing!
Same problem here...did you find a solution?
Hello all.
Do the Bios files V34-Dev also work on Batocera V35 ? have unzipped everything and have 3 folders, Bios, roms, saves that I copy all in the Bios folder on my Batocera stick right ? I ask only because there are many packed files in the 3 folders inside and one quickly loses track, I am very grateful for any help and tip and please keep up the good work you are the best.
Bat 35 will require a bios update. I have a video on how to do that
Hi one question this emulator can be played on a smartbox android system? Or its just for pc?
Hi bro, I have some problems, why after the first time I entered the batocera bios after the splash display batocera screen turned black
If I use a micro SD or flash drive what size do I need?
thanks sir very helpful, new to this and been making just afew of my ps2 games into iso set batocera onto jumpdrive then found the emu not listed, found shortcut in apps to add bios to ps2 but left thinking how am i to get a copy of bios from my console to pc..fun n games lols are all the emulators for this bios pack already on batocera 33? tbh only setting up ps2 and ps3 and using iso from my original games i own.
Hi Retro gaming guy! Is it possible to play PS4 games on Batocera?
That link current has Batocera version 33, but it looks like batocera is on version 32. Would it still work? Sorry if that’s a dumb question!
wondering the same thing myself. did it work?
@@shirtlesswithabeergut unfortunately I am still in the planning stages, just got together some older pc parts to try and put a build together and try out batocera. I will reply again to confirm if it works!
@@andrewgames6748 did it work?
Hello, let's say there is an update for the OS batocera (think next one is 33 or 34), do I also need to upgrade the Bios files in addition everytime Batocera gets an update?
Did you ever find a answer for this?
@@supremesupreme4289 yes you need the new bios for every new version
@@Afura33 Thanks for that fast reply!!!👍👍👍😁
@@supremesupreme4289 I think you can also play with an old bios version, but then some of the emulators maybe won't work.
HI There , i have the latest V33 bios files and everything runs fine apart from i can not get amiga games to run i have the appropriate roms and have all the bios I need but when i try to play a game it just keeps returning to the games section. I am running Batocera using a tc3 mini. Hope some one can help many thanks in advance
ive extracted the files from download but instide the bios folder there are still more zipped files inside. do i need to extract those also?
Will these bios files work for an Anbernic RG35XX using the Garlic OS?
Can I use these for verison 31 I am just having trouble getting my games to run Optimally ?
Should be able to!
HI great Video. But for some reason it just doesn´t work for me. I checked and re-checked. I made every step you made. On When trying to start an AMIGA500 Game, Batocera keeps saying: "The System has missing Bios File(s) etc..." Any Ideas? Thank in Advance.
Can you make a video about how to make 5200 games work?
Did these Bioses update in 2024, if so do you have a updated link to them all in one ?
Thanks a lot man. How do you exit a game on Batocera i can only exit games when using the Ninento64 emu but others i just don't how to. I have to switch off the system on the power button.
Start+Select and the hotkey
Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. When transferring the bios to batocera it says error splicing no space left on device. I'm on 2hrs trying to figure it out.
It's telling me there is not enough space on my Hard drive or SD card, but there definitely is. I don't know what I'm doing wrong
Works the same with anbernic?
This will work for a pi4b?
Can anyone tell me which specific files are for the wii emulator. don't want all the systems trying to just run systems for light gun games.
Please help! CPS2 and CPS3 (Capcom and Street Fighter games) don't work at all on MAME and it seems to be something to do with the BIOS. Any advice/links is appreciated!

Not familiar with recalbox. What emulator are you using? What happens when you dove into those titles?
hello, how to change the information of the console? not the game, the console, the release date... etc...
Hi, i just done a fresh install to batocera v37, now when i try to move my roms over, they wont play, does v37 come with all the bios files i need, or have i missed something. Thanks for any help
No you'll have to add all your own bios files. youtube search retro gaming guy batocera bios files and you'll find my complete tutorial on how to do that.
I'm actually having an issue where even if i have bios files in the system the operating system doesnt detect them
Hmm that’s strange. You’re putting them in the correct folder right?
Yes I was, I actually just figured out the issue, the bios files I had in there were uppercase letters, when I dropped the new files over for some reason they stayed uppercase, I went through and changed all the names, works now
@@thedarksproductions8600 oh perfect! Good to know too in case anybody else runs into that same issue!
Is it the same for retrobat ?
Do you have an updated one for v38?
No but search on archive.org they always have bios files and stuff like that

Uhh what happens is that people eaven me, we get used to pre install images, so don't have the knowedge, about set up all the emulator and stuff
👍
Can you help me. I have installed everything as you've instructed. Now when I select again it says loading and then goes straight back to the games menu. Before I installed everything I had NES games working fine. I haven't got a clue what I've done wrong?
If you navigate into bios folder are the files all there still? Did you refresh your games list after adding them?
@@RetroGamingGuy I did all the bios and when I try to run a game it doesn't mention missing bios. I did check the missing bios section and there are still some missing. But for instance PS2 is fine but still won't play.

tried to get metal slug going, installed this entire bios set, still lists many bios files missing
This is an old link now I'm sure there's new bios files. Search on archive.org
when i unzipped it, there were a few extra folders. ''roms'' and ''saves''. do i need to do anything with them? they appear to have a bunch of files in them.
For which platform ?

@@shirtlesswithabeergut hmm not sure I've only used Batocera I'd just copy and paste it all over
@@RetroGamingGuy @RetroPie Guy oh, I'm dumb. I am also trying to use batocera. I followed your video step by step. I think.
Just when I unzipped it, I had extra folders. Not just "bios".
I will just paste them in.

@@shirtlesswithabeergut Did it work bringing all the folders over?
Hey man, Just wondering if its normal for my batocera to only have a couple of emulators? It seems to have loaded and booted without Gamecube, N64, Wii or Playstation etc?
Do you have Roms in those folders? If not it won't populate into your list.
@@RetroGamingGuy Thanks for replying, just to reiterate, there are folders for all of the emulators, but they do not have any ROMs in them upon first installation? So once I add ROMs into these empty folders it will show up in the menu (ie Dreamcast/N64/PSX)
@@RetroGamingGuy Thanks dude, fixed it strait away!
Hi. Good video, but it's 7 months later and I have the latest Batocera , but hitting F1 doesn't do anything? Any ideas how I get to that file browser?
I'm running it on a TV box, keyboard is working.
Not sure should be one of the function keys I would think
@@RetroGamingGuy ok thanks for the reply. I'll try other keys on the keyboard. I can definitely access that file browser even if I'm not on a PC? Thanks
It's not the same for android box.
Do you know where to get bios files for the batocera v37 version
Yeah go to archive dot org search there they'll pop up
where is xemu bios folder ?
I’m having an issues with the missing bios files for Naomi so I some need help do you or anybody know how to fix The problem
At least for me, most of the files didn´t decompressed. Not sure why. But thanks for the info nonetheless!
What did you use to unzip? I use 7zip. Just did it 2 nights ago again without issues.
Same thing happened to me I use 7 zip , it kept telling me there wasn't enough space on the disk when transferring, I had to go in and unzip every file, in the file lol I'm about to find out if I did everything right 🤞🤞
Does this include all bios files for PlayStation 1,2 and 3?
It should depends which platform you're using I haven't tested all of them
how to install BIOS files on Batocera in Raspberry Pi 4 b?
can you do the copy and paste on windows? if so what is the path i must place the files in,
Not sure I understand. You're downloading on windows but you want to transfer over to your batocera setup right which would likely be separate since batocera is linux.
@@RetroGamingGuy thanks for your reply, I’m using a device ( anbernic win600) I don’t have a usb keyboard and can’t get to the file system. So I have my windows machine but I don’t know where to copy and paste the Roms when I am in the windows environment
