my emulator dose not play the games at all... it loads them and then goes back to ps2 collection. If i run the emulator from Applications/pcsx2 it runs normally. Any idea what needs to be done for this?
Hi Jamie,
Thank you for the useful videos and tips.
Are boxart and presentation video for each game saved in the same root folder where the game is after scraping?
My question is: Is it better to put each game in a folder (with the same name) so that box art and presentation video for each game will be saved in the game's folder or can I put all my Ps2 .iso's in one directory?
Have to say awesome channel, and you just got a new sub. Love that you work on the 3 major emulation frontends. Just curious do you lean more towards one or the other. Myself been using launchbox, and batocera for years. Been leaning to launch box myself more so recently on the main beefy pc, using batocera on a bartop arcade I built many years ago, and now with the batocera 35-37 making a lightgun cab since they are making it more simple with the sinden lightguns. I never really dove too deep into retrobat, but I see you have plenty of vids on it. Makes me wonder if it would be good to go that route in future windows builds.
Hey. Thanks for the kind words. I also briefly touched on a couple of other systems - Playnite and Recalbox..have you seen these?
@@JustJamie1983 Recalbox I have its been a hot moment for that one for me. Playnite is one I haven't dabbled in what so ever. Ive also used coinops, but that one is in conjunction with my Legends pinball cab, but they do have a standalone frontend as well. I keep driving the wife nuts with all these things. I still need to make a Racing build so I can make the racing cab, I want to do DDR build, but right now working on the shooter/guitar hero build. Trying to do guitar hero in Batocera is being a little challenging at the moment...some reason im getting too much lag with the wii remotes. I have the raphnet cable I still need to try but have to figure the button layout to make it all work. lol could be some video ideas for ya down the road. I just love to tinker its a great hobby that keeps the mind busy. As well keeps are old school memories/games alive.

Jamie I need help, I can't get my ps2 to run on batocera it keep saying missing bios and I try to run it anyway but the game wont run. How do I install ps2 bios into batocera? Greatly appreciated.
Hey there. This video explains how to do this?
@JustJamie1983 not at all. It tells you how but not the issues you might run into. Make an updated vid.
Hi
I have this pc:
- I5 6500
-16 gb ddr4
- Intel HD Graphics 530
-Ssd 1 terabyte
I would like to play up to Ps2.
Should I get a 1050 TI?
Or do I continue to play with that pc that is fine for now?
Thanks
On board graphics won't play then too well, definitely worth upgrading with a GPU.
I'm having trouble with an Xbox series controller, when mapping the R2 it stays pressed, It reads it as axis and not as button
Ah sorry to hear that.
When I use libretro:PCSX2 Emulator it shows the message, that savestates are not supported by this core. Is there a possibility to fix that? The play Emulator does not run well on my system (HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Micro i7-6700T with 16 GB RAM).
Play emulator isn't great. PCSX2 is the core you need.
Nice video bro, send link of bios ps2
Link?
Sorry I didn't catch something, are you supposed to get the bios files from the internet then and then paste them on the batocera bios folder? Is that correct?
I'd go back and watch it again.
Sorry man I'm new to this and it seems that many version updates on Batocera change a lot of things within the system so sometimes it is hard to follow since the files are not found at the exact same location anymore
PCSX2 has remained the same?
For me, despite the files being in the right place, pcsx2 on batocera does not play nice from the get go. I needed to switch from standalone to libreto:pcsx2 to get my games to run.
@martinlopez3650 I just saw that theres a line in the pcsx2.ini file that needs to be deleted. Line 23 for save states. Reddit users say deleting it fixes pcsx2 allegedly
How You Add Pnatch Codes In PCSX2 Emulator In Batocera I'm Playing Crash Bandicoot The Wrath Of Cortex But You Have To Enter Pnatch Codes To Get Rid Of Glitches
Thank you again !
My pleasure :)
Excellent and thorough information for PS2 and for PS1 on previous video. Many thanks
Hey. No probs at all.
i have populated the ps2 folder but ps2 doesn't appear on emulationstation
Make sure that your file extensions are allowed to display.
@@JustJamie1983 i am on batocera compatibility webpage, the pi 5 doesn't support ps2
@pam8352 I'd wait for the next update then

Mine doesn’t show a settings. Just system, cdvd, config, debug, capture and help. When I go to config it shows gamepad settings but not controllers. Just configurations for keyboard.
i dont get it, from where do u get the ps2 roms from ?
You can extract your discs.
Unfortunately Batocera Doesn't Support PS2 Games In Full Speed
Is that a fact or your computer?

Can it play PS2 games with the existing PS2 saves? thanks
Becasue I have PS2 console before, however, it is broken now.
If it is possible, I may consider to build a kind of this retro console instead of buying an old PS2 console.
Jamie, what equipment did you set this up on? I'm asking because I have a mini pc i5 8500t 32Gb dual ddr... Ps2 games freeze when I set 1080p... I have a Batocera 35
I7 11th Gen, 16GB, RTX 3050 4GB
hey how do you get the new version of pcsx2 when iam in the foldersystem and open pcsx2 i only get the old one ....
It's not reccomended. That update will come in the next Batocera distribution.
@@JustJamie1983 did you mean v38 ?
Is V38 out now?@@richardkenzel633
@@JustJamie1983 not yet only a beta version
@richardkenzel633 Beta isn't stable, I prefer to give advice and help for systems that function as they should. V37 hasn't been out for too long so stable 38 should be at least a couple of months away.
When I boot up PS2 game is says bios missing even though it is in the bios directory. The game still boots up though
Main menu - game settings- bios check.
@@JustJamie1983 yep done that. Says missing. Double checked bios folder and their there. Running batocera 37 steam deck
@carlburton8062 OK. I don't have any experience with Steamdeck. Are they named correctly?
I'll have to check
@carlburton8062 try updating gamelists or re adding them. Also, maybe wrong bios files. I had to download 2 or 3 different times until I found the right bios files.
Scraper didn't work for the game Manhunt 2
Rename the file
@@JustJamie1983 rename it, how
I can't save gameplay , no space 🙄
Do you have any issues mapping my remote abd making the profile.
It uses the default and the triangle and square buttons are reversed? Also, I cannot apply a hotkey button for pcsx2 menu while in the game because it keeps reverting to keyboard escape key.
Hi, I have a problem with dragon ball budokai tenchaici 3 on ps2. When I press r3 button, the heroes doesn't transform. Why? There is a solution?
I have no idea. I have never played it. Check compatibility
Good video but i think what confuses people is where to get or download the bios files
Well I'm afraid to say you won't get that from me. I run a legit channel here.
PS2 is not showing after all I'm using batocera 39 please help
I need more info that that. What have you done?
@@JustJamie1983 not showing in the main menu only default options only
You have a ps2 folder?
@@JustJamie1983 yes
Which Pi are you using? You don't get a PS2 ROMs folder on either v37, v38 or v39 using a Pi4. Maybe it's only on the Pi5? 🤔
Many thanks for these explanations ! Unfortunately I can not understand when I leave the pcsx2 config app, the settings are not saved... :( what could possibly go wrong ? I can't manage to make the controller profile loaded as shared by default...
Is this a preloaded card/device you have used? Or a fresh install?
@@JustJamie1983 it is since I updated my Batocera install to v37...
@@sijobarteam same here, i went from 38 to 39. Settings are saved but overwritten as soon game is started.
bro pcsx2 config opening
is not opening
Hey, that's odd. I would suggest attempting to update Batocera.
@@JustJamie1983 I think the bug is in v37 downloaded v35 and and then upgradeed to v37 to fix it
Where I can get the missing bios file?
Please don't ask.
If i make additional settings in pcsx2-config (i.e. controller sensitivity) i can see that it writes it correct to pcsx2.ini. But as soon i start a game within batocera, those settings are lost. How can i preserve those settings? I think that batocera passes settings to emulationstation which will generate pcsx2.ini on each game start. And if i start game from pcsx2-config the controller is not working at all.
